  • Looking for the perfect case for your 2024 (M4) iPad Pro 11 inch? The ESR SHIFT features a detachable inner case, a dual folio cover/stand outer case that can securely place your iPad Pro in 3 different orientations (landscape, elevated landscape and portrait) as well as 9 different angles.
    Amazon (affiliate link): amzn.to/3WTmTcq The magnets on the case are extremely strong: both the ones attaching your iPad Pro in its inner case to the outer case, and those positioning the stand at the 9 possible angles. In fact, the magnets on the inner case are so strong that you can securely attach your iPad Pro, in its inner case, magnetically to a metal refrigerator. The construction on this product seems solid, with a textured surface, good buttons and well positioned port openings. Unfortunately, due to the slimness of the inner case, the rubber over the port openings has more flex than I would prefer...I'm not sure how that will wear over time. In addition, while auto sleep wake works well, there is no magnetic flap to keep the folio cover closed and the magnets in the folio cover don't hold it closed very well by themselves. And the case as a whole does add thickness and weight to the iPad Pro. But overall, there is a lot to love here from ESR!

    The SHIFT is available directly from ESR as well as from Amazon and it currently comes in three colors: the beautiful blue shown in this review, a lovely purple color and a black version. Pricing varies from $42.99 for the black version to $47.99 for the other two colors. Many thanks to the kind folks at ESR for sending me out this sample to review!

    Thanks for the review, I am definitely ordering this case. It reminds me of an improved and less bulky Zugu case

      Hi Eric! I’ve heard that comparison with Zugu from a lot of people. I don’t have any experience with the Zugu case, though…

    I think this definitely one of the better case options. Very versatile.

      Hi Adam! It is very versatile…I love the option to use the inner case by itself. And the stand functionality is great…extremely stable in all the various angles

    I just got one in black for my iPad Air 13. I used to have the Zugu case but seems they stopped making it for newer iPads, this ESR case is so much better in terms of being able to put it vertical and removing it

      Great to hear! Thanks for sharing! I don't have any experience with Zugu yet, but will hopefully be able to check them out when they release the iPad Pro M4 11 inch version later this summer...

    I wish ESR redesign their Rebound Hybrid 360 case with the level of magnets of this or even stronger magnet. The Rebound Hybrid 360 magnets is mehhh.

      Yep...kinda underwhelmed by the Rebound Hybrid 360 magnets...

      I think the SHIFT is a great case for the 2024 iPad Pro 11 inch. You have a lot of options for your iPad Pro positioning and 9 angles to put your iPad Pro into. Lots to love with the SHIFT!

    Do you know if this shift case and the esr keyboard case would be interchangeable ? They look similar but the magnets could be differently ligned up.

    • @TheTechReviewer
      @TheTechReviewer  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Nope! Sadly, the ESR case parts are not interchangeable...at least none of the ones I have, anyway. The magnets are positioned differently...very frustrating! The Shift won't play nice with the Rebound 360 keyboard case, the Rebound Hybrid case, etc... So sorry!!

      @@TheTechReviewerok, thank you for the answer. So I might be better off with the shift case and a seperate bluetooth keyboard and mouse/trackpad. Only thing I don't like about the shift case is that it doesn't have the pencil flap 😆 why is it so hard to find an all in one solution 😅

    • @TheTechReviewer
      @TheTechReviewer  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @artofhansjacob That’s a good idea…that really might work well. And the Shift is a great iPad Pro case…my favorite of all the iPad Pro cases I’ve reviewed so far. I also wish it had a closure flap which protected the Apple Pencil Pro when charging and also kept the folio cover closed. It’s an odd omission…I’m thinking that ESR didn’t want to add any more appearance of thickness to the Shift and that’s why they left it off.
      So I’m guessing from your screen name that you are an artist?

      @@TheTechReviewer yes, I try to use the iPad Pro for illustration and character design work in procreate, and recently took it on myself to do book setups in Affinity Publisher, hence the need for typing as well 🙂 touchscreen navigation in text on the ipad has been a challenge 😅 still rocking a 2017 ipad pro model. Need an upgrade 😁 I do have a computer and cintiq just in case.

      Cool! If you upgrade, I think you'll find the new iPad Pro to be big improvement over the 2017 model!!

    • @TheTechReviewer
      @TheTechReviewer  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Well, it’s not light.🤣 But I wouldn’t say it is very heavy either. I think it is more bulky than heavy, and you get a lot of functionality!

    Don’t buy this. It has an issue and ESR is releasing a newer version in June. This case is way too busy as well adding weight.

    • @highdefnews175
      @highdefnews175 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What’s the issue?

    • @TheTechReviewer
      @TheTechReviewer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Brent! Thanks for taking the time to comment, but this is news to me. I’m wondering what the issue is? The only thing that I noticed is that the magnets on the folio cover aren’t strong enough, or perhaps not aligned quite right, to keep the cover closed. Auto sleep wake still works, though. But in terms of weight and bulk, this is exactly the same as the Shift case for the 2022 iPad Pro, so no surprises there…

      @@TheTechReviewer probably the magnets at the front not strong enough to the flap close or the last (furthest) magnetic groove where the stand goes for the 13 inch case now has the ESR logo, but if you were to put the bottom flap at the last groove, it’s not stable at all.
