I think the important thing about the Nids list is *only* spending CP on “Unending Waves”. And then bring entirely separate guant squads from your bag to replace the nids you’ve lost.
Wow, you mean early adopters of the markers got a rare, discontinued, misprint version at no extra charge, AND they get the full size ones too? Epic. ❤ Also you could use the smaller ones to handicap for having a more experienced player or something . 😂
I once heard about a joke tournament where the store asked the players to make the worst lists they could come up with (each player then got randomly assigned someone else's army, so there was a real incentive to make the armies as useless as possible). The pinnacle of the event was a t'au player who showed up with nothing but an ethereal, marker drones and some shield drones. In other words: a t'au list equipped with a grand total of ZERO guns and only one melee weapon 🤣
@@elispiller2686 I was considering getting into Warhammer and playing Ad Mech and painting the models... This has changed my mind. I will just cosplay as one it will be cheaper.
I got accused of toxicly spamming kastelan robots at my local Warhammer store. I'm new to the hobby and admech is my first army. I'm in a progression league and we are at 1500 points. I have two squads of 4 kastelan robots and my opponent got pissed whenever they killed his characters. I had to sit him down and show him that that was the only way I could afford to play the army. He soon apologized afterwards.
Meme list idea : Aeldari list where all models are allowed to drink. Only models that are still currently sold, but that are more than 21 years old (or 18 if 21 is too restrictive, that's the legal age in most of Europe)
@@jarlathquinn2628 yes but in most country they only can under an adult supervision. That's still a good idea though, you can only take "minors" (but still like 12+, even Europe doesn't put alcohol in 2yo milk except in our jokes) in your army if they're led by a 18+ leader.
Honestly, I mostly run that list as is. I still have a lot of my Eldar from 2nd ed that I git around 1995. I still have 60 old pewter guardians and my OG metal Eldrad
The Tyranid all gaunts list does, in fact, NOT fit into your deployment zone. It has been tried. We made movement trays, like in Warhammer Fantasy. Movement is surprisingly quick then!
I was going to say, movement on this scale not only becomes easier with movement trays, they become a requirement. Indeed, you should be using movement trays any time you field fiddly Tyranid battleline at all. It's a courtesy to your opponent. Same with Guard. Mordian Glory has taken all-infantry Guard armies to tournaments on multiple occasions. You bet your ass his entire army is on movement trays.
@@AAw3s0m3 Movement treys, like the ones we made, do not prevent that. How do I explain? They go under the bases, not around them, like in Warhammer Fantasy. Does that make sense?
@@AAw3s0m3 yep but it DOES help me shortcut movement and deployment spacing for the first 2-3 turns and I think in most cases it winds up being a time save
"Games workshopus Forgot-us" Adeptus mechanicus, Skitarii Hunter Cohort Belisarius Cawl, 2x Cybernetica Datasmith, 3x Dominus, 3x Manipulus, 3 of each electro-priests, and 2 squads of kastelan robots (One 4x another 2x) For a low price of ~1200$ you can play a complete army without bothering to learn what an Enchancement, detachment, or an army rule is!
Do a World Eaters shooting list next. You have forgefiends, helbrutes, predators, KLoSs, and you can even ally shooting knights or a few skull cannons. Totally possible
Honestly, my first thought when you said "Space Marines can live in Boomertown" was "nobody walks". Bikes and jump packs for everybody that can take them, dedicated transports for everybody that can't. Maybe you throw in some non-transport vehicles or flyers, or a Terminator squad for teleport stuff.
The tyranid list just makes you realise why in all the books and stories the heroes only get attacked by a few from the swarm at once - the player simply can't be bothered to move them all.
@@emzetkin1100my local GW shop is completely cool with players using movement trays (mostly because it's a small shop run by 1 guy and he's just chill like that)
@@emzetkin1100 I'm sorry, but if a game store that hosts 40K tries to complain about you useing movement trays, time to find a new store. Screw giving such asshats your money.
I have a local guy unironically building that tyranid swarm list. We joke that it's going to take a couple years to make, but i'm excited to see it, lol
I thought about that list as well when started... made that army cowboys.... I did run a lot of horses but not max,I also had a lot of sentinel (chickens). My current list is still horses and sentinels as its back bone but I have changed it some what to make it a little better on the table.
Another meme list for space marines is one i have called "you got gas money?" All infantry units and no vehicles or flamers, no not even dreads are on the list. To make it more funny you can have one... just one transport and it something no one can use...a rhino it just sits in the deployment zone and never moves or it's in strategic reserves the entire game.
For maximum memes, the Tyranid list can take advantage of the 2CP stratagem Unending Waves to return a destroyed unit of gants to the board, effectively giving you 407 bodies.
I did the math... even if I land every single shot my Knights can put out, even if I bring both crusaders with the gatling cannons never stop turning... I DO NOT HAVE THE NUMBER OF SHOTS TO KILL THAT ARMY
@@azrael_war_schon_vergeben6810 You don't have to, it's a Leadership 8+ army with 1 synapse model, kill 11 models from every squad and it'll never hold objectives again.
Correct, and the Oldmarine list works very well as DW. I tried to only use codex compliant lists for this though, since we'll probably due Space Wolves/Dark Angels etc. when their codex supplements drop in future versions of this.
You are correct. You can even do all dreadnoughts, which has been a SW meme list for a long time now. Bjorn the Fellhanded as Warlord and two each of Ballistus, Brutalis, original flavor, Redemptor, and Wulfen Dreadnaughts; and a single Stormraven as transport for one of the dreadnaughts. Twelve models for 2000 points, but at this point why aren't you playing Knights?
@@thepoorhammerpodcast I did this in 9th edition with Sergeant Chronus and 7 Land Raiders variants. The looks on people faces when I set down 7 Land Raiders for my 2k list was priceless. Glad I never did go and buy it all though. I was borrowing most of the Land Raiders from buddies to play it every so often.
@@kevinyoung5728 How did it play? It sounds very swingy, like win big or lose big, but no middle of the road it could go either way to the end type games. Out of morbid curiosity I checked, and you can do eight land raider variants led by an Inquistor in 10th. Just stuff the Inquisitor in a Land Raider and ignore him.
I haven't gotten into the hobby yet, but my meme dream is a version of the 'no space marine space marine list' that I call 'A Thousand Absent Sons,' where, naturally, I make a Thousand Sons list without taking any space marines. No Rubrics, no sorcerers, no dreadnoughts, not even Magnus. Nobody who is or has ever been a space marine. (Or a primarch.) Why? Thousand Sons have Tzaangor. I mean, apparently that's what GW wants us to buy! And who wouldn't turn down a lovely Age of Sigmar sculpt! 😛 Like, I dunno how to make a real list, but messing about on New Recruit I found that Tzaangor shamans are characters and can thus be warlords. You could really do this list. Probably. Maybe. Though, looking on some completely legitimate internet site trust me on this no you can't look, you do lose out on your detachment rule, which sucks. But this was a meme list, of course it was going to be bad.
Yeah, I've seen theorycrafted list like that, called "tzeench's peculiar menagerie" where aside from Tzaangor shaman as warlord there was a knight, a couple of spindle drones and, if memory serves me, an ambull.
Tzaangors (both foot and on discs), tzaangor shamans, chaos spawn and demon princes of tzeentch could make up legally viable lists for thousand sons, beasts of chaos and deciples of tzeentch in the right numbers.
I just checked, and it's actually fairly easy it seems. Note I just used scribe, no idea if it's actually legal or any good, but it doesn't cause an error so... 3 tzaangor shamans 6 Battle line tzaangor 3 tzaangor enlightened 3 Tzeentch cultists 3 forgefieinds 2 heldrakes And a lord of change. Comes out to 1960 or so, so spice with enhancements for flavor.
I've always wanted to try a 54 infiltrating nurglings army, the ultimate tar pit, but i have the feeling no one will want to play with me again after that
As a long time C'tan fan, I was actually crestfallen when I saw how good they were in the new codex. Because that means they're gonna get a massive points nerf soon, and a dumb list I liked playing in 10th is "Just seven C'tan".
I want you to know that I regularly play Boomertown. My Blood Angels list is composed ENTIRELY of old sculpts and firstborn marines, and includes metal devestators and 4 boxnaughts
Same man, i love the old sculpts to death. my list is 30 tacs, 10 scouts, 5 devs, 10 sternguard, 10 assault termies, mortis & contemptor dreads, rhino + razorback. I have primaris but they're nowhere near as fun to paint
My Dark Angels are almost exclusively plastic Heresy kits, with only 2 old DA specific sculpts and a generic Venerable Dread for 40k sculpts in my entire COLLECTION. We dont talk about the 9e Pushfit Marines I dont play.
My very first models I got when I got into the hobby a couple years ago were the classic Bike Squad and the Vanguard Vets. They’re super dope and the vets are some of my favorite dudes. Nothing wrong with the old stuff.
The nid army reminds me of a list I came up with for 5th edition Guard. It was a 2000 point army consisting of Chekov, and then nothing but conscripts, all merged into one super squad using the Guard platooning rules. The idea was you would flood the board with the conscripts making it so your opponent could barely move. Then, once they killed enough of them you pop "send in the next wave" and spend the next hour removing the remaining conscripts from the board and setting the entire army back up again from reserves.
There was an amazing list for admech at the start of the edition where you take 3 datasmiths on their own and 3 boats, then put the rest of the army in 3 transvector planes that stay in reserve. the datasmiths and boats are destroyed before the battle from lonelyness and the planes never turns up.
I made the mistake when I was getting into 40K, of walking into a Warhammer Store, and telling the guy at the counter, “I think tech priests are cool, is there a way I can run a whole army of them?”
2 different ideas for Sisters: 1st one, really embracing the meme: "Doge Vandire's wet dream" -Saint Celestine (Barefoot of course) (135pts) -3x10 Seraphim (420pts) -3x10 Repentia (390pts) -3x10 Dominions (360pts) -3x10 Novitiates (255pts) -3x6 Death Cult AssAssIns (315pts) -Doge Vandire Himself (Triumph of Saint Katherine but with Doge Vandire doggo on a throne instead of the Katherine coffin, 125pts) And that is a clean 2000pts list with many options for Doge Vandire to choose from. 2nd one, memey in a different way: "We aren't Khorne I swear" -Triumph of Saint Katherine (With melee Lethal Hits always on, 125pts) -3x10 Celestian Sacresants (390pts) -3x10 Arco-Flagellants (390pts) -3x10 Repentia (390pts) -3x10 Zephyrim (420pts) -3x10 Novitiates (All melee weapons, 255pts) -1x2 Crusaders (25) For a crispy totally not Khorne 1995pts list.
The worst part about the Tyranid list is that it's actually fairly affordable to make the termagant list thanks to the Space Marine boardgame boxes, which gives two 10-model units with flesh borers + 2 ripper models for ~40 usd if not on sale. 6 boxes and you have your battleline halfway done for just around 240 dollary-doos. It's incredibly easy to start making this list, the only hard part is stopping yourself from actually doing it.
I bought a bunch of Leviathan Termagants off ebay for $15-20. I only have 80 so far though. I feel like I should get the other 40 with Spinefists though
I once made a tau list that spams crisis suit burst cannons and gun drones, and once I optimized the list, i added up the number of str 5 AP 0 shots to be 492 in a 2k pts list (thats 492 shots per turn!) and once you get to turn 3, you can start getting sustained hits 1 and potentially 2 for even more str 5 goodness. Amazing video I would love to see more crazy lists in a future episode!
>sees no 4 Baneblades list I'm sorry, guys, this is an incomplete list of lists. Edit: Speaking of Guard, just got to the Gaunt Legion list and I've had a similar thought of all Cadian Shock Troops, Catachans, and Krieg. Absolutely ludicrous, but it would be funny.
Guilliman still feels like you have just a really nice space marine. Instead of going for Ultramarines, do a Space Wolves army for Bjorn in his dreadnought armor.
Depressing how much of the Boomer list I genuinely still think of as 'newer models' because my heyday of paying attention was the early 00s, when we didn't even have half of those kits and we were still happy to be playing around with the plastic bikes and suffering through combination metal and plastic parts.
On a similar vein to the "Not a Single Marine" list, you could do Not a Single Sister. They don't have anywhere near as many vehicles, but the priests and battle conclave units can fill in the blanks.
very early on in 10th I heard about a "stop hitting yourself" list for marines that's basically as much shooting as possible, to be fired outside of your own shooting phase. it was something like 9 attack bikes (the ones with the little side car), 3 ATV's, 3 of the plasma cannon -toting dark angels' land speeders, and as many hellblasters as you could fit (25 at the time, could be upwards of 30 now depending on points changes). any time a hellblaster dies, on a 3+ he gets to shoot. any time a unit is destroyed near a land speeder, each nearby speeder gets to shoot at whatever destroyed it. any time one of the bikes or ATV's gets shot at, each nearby bike/ATV gets to shoot at whatever shot at it. to be fair, most of these guns don't have a very long range or enough strength to be really scary, but I think that adds to the "meme factor" of the list. as a dark angels player and a plasma enthusiast I'd totally try it out if I didn't need to buy *9* attack bikes (...yes I know this is not nearly as bad as admech...)
its so sad that admech is in such a poor state cause honestly i think they are the models with the most personality in all of 40k and it sucks that they cost so much that barely anyone can afford to play them
i love about half of the admech range but the ones i do like i enjoy a lot. I honestly was going to make a admech army and had started one but i have less than 400 points atm. if i want to play admech my only choice at this point is getting proxy models i enjoy because ive been priced out.
I rarely get to play so disregard this comment if you want but AdMech seem like a faction hurt by the removal of wargear. From the outside they seem like the "Gadget" faction. I do not have enough gameplay knowledge to put it to rules and stats but having some whacky once per battle abilities you could take at the cost of points could fix some things at the cost of making things more complex. However complex seems like what AdMech is about, I only painted one Dominus priest and i had enough, looking at the Ironstriders or the Hounds i would dread painting one let alone 9 to 16.
@HurkaTheGuard very much could be true my opinon isn't super valid when it comes to gameplay stuff since I have yet to play my first game yet hopefully soon though admech was a army I wanted to play cause of the models but after seeing how expensive it would be I genuinely can't afford it but luckily there are some other armies I like the look of aswell
The tyranid list exists only in the nightmares of tabletop players, but when Space Marine 2 comes out, that'll probably be maybe an hour or two of gameplay. I also think Eric's "oh no..." combined with the YuGiOh sound effect and Brad's laughter is absolutely hilarious. 33:13
I'm a little surprised that the "Genestealer Cult (now with 100% less Genestealers)" build isn't on the list. So you decide on a point total, and then you carefully sequence your drafting. The FIRST thing you take are Brood Brothers, as much as you possibly can. Then, before you take ANYTHING else, notice that Brood Brothers have some... interesting keywords, which thanks to the wording on literally EVERYTHING you can take as an Imperial ally... makes you eligible to take Imperial allies so long as no actual Cult units are in your list. You take one of the more expensive Warlord-eligible Agents, and a couple Assassins, three full-sized squads of Henchmen or something just to eat up the points, the priciest Freeblade Knight you've got, and also whichever Titan makes up the difference, and at that point you no longer have any room for actual Genestealer units, but your army is still entirely legal to field despite being a nominal Genestealer army and using Genestealer enhancements and stratagems. This is because every single thing on this list aside from the Brood Brothers (which retain the Imperium keyword last I checked) only checks for UNIT keywords across the entire army, with no regard to which faction rules you're actually using. It's so ridiculous, and an obvious oversight that might've actually gotten patched since then, but I love it for being ridiculous.
honestly, looking at their lore this kind of thing shouldn't be patched. frankly Genestealer Cults lore should let them take brood brothers from Ad Mech (seriously, 2 of the major cults that kept on getting their own rules actually specialized in Ad Mech), Orks, Asuryani, Drukhari, and T'au instead they're rather boringly limited to Astra Militarum only (presumably because a lot of the stuff they already get on their own seem to mirror the Astra Militarum so just giving them access to Astra Militarum stuff probably has the fewest balance implications)
Not sure who's footing the bill (go bricky!) for the mess up but good job on the speed and accountability. Much respect and it has boosted y'all to the top of the list of places to buy for friends once I build them.
For daemons you should do a “special snowflake” list where you try to field as many unique one off models as you can. An absurd amount of the daemon’s roster is characters so you might be able to get a decent amount even.
I'm pretty sure you can make a full kroot list with the current tau index xD Just checked, you need Vespids and tactical drones as support, but then you can fill the 2k points ^-^
One list I've personally thought of before is 'oops all cabal points', where the only points that matter are how many cabal points you generate. For a 2k list, 1910pts are in characters, with athenaen scrolls and lord of forbidden lore, with 90pts more in a 6-man enlightened squad. This list consists of Ahriman on disc, 3x exalted sorcerers, 3x disc exalted sorcerers, 3x infernal masters, 3x regular sorcerers, 3x terminator sorcerers, 3x tzaangor shamans, and the enlightened. This comes to a neat 25 model army that generates a grand total of 34 cabal points, which for the record allows you to use all of your rituals in your shooting phase once for 29 cabal points. However if you simply drop weaver of fates from the equation, suddenly you have just enough points to be double doombolting thanks to lord of forbidden lore, costing 34 points on the dot. Combine this with almost every single unit in the army benefitting from your army ability and suddenly you've got a significant chunk of your army doing sustained hits and/or dev wounds, and this is before slotting in Magnus or using stratagems.
You could play the Not A Marine In Sight list without a single Astartes unit at all; just take a Warhound Titan as an ally, a Knight as an ally, a couple squads of Inquisitorial Henchmen, and an Inquisitor as your warlord. Works for any Imperium army.
Regarding the "More Gaunt" list for the Tyranids, I have played this before way back in 4th edition. Had to have two full tables moved together just for the joke itself. The other player was just amazed at how it would work out and just how many bug there were on table. Played it out like a last stand kind of run. It was well worth it for the fun side of it and all the people just watching in amazement for how it all had to be moved around every turn. And honestly rolling a couple hundred dice a turn was also very very funny.
I think a funny one could be an all lone opperative list. I think it is doable with Dark Angels, with the Vanguard Spearhead. The Lion, gets Lone Op within 3 inches of Infantry, 3 Libraians in Phobos who with their psychic can give basically Lone Op to 3 maxed Infiltrators units. 3 Lieutenants with Combi Weapons. 3 Ravenwing Talonmasters who get it within 3 of mounted units or vehicles including each other, or they can go with the 1 Chaplin on a bike with the Ghostweave Cloak enhancement to get Lone Op for himself. Then 3 Techmarines who get it within 3 of vehicles, in this case the Talonmasters, and you have 1970 pts of Lone Opperatives. Take Shadow War Veteran enhancement on a charecter and that is 2K exactly.
I'm an admech player and I knew exactly where he was going as soon as he said the marshal wasn't attached to anything... Thank God for second hand sellers. With our new codex finding used models has never been easier.
My favourite kinds of lists are "orbital assault" ones. Basically, everything is in a drop pod, can (lorewise) insert from orbit or is at least transported in by a flyer. Even now it's still possible to get entire 2k point armies to not actually be on the board in turn 1, I've made one for Marines using Drop Pods, a Storm Raven and a whole lot of Infantry. Air Cav Guard/Scions is another favourite
327 Tyranids is a list someone might take to a tournament if they want to attempt to win via Time. Grab some early points and just take FOREVER moving and deploying. If you run out of board space just have them in reserves
i did a similar thing where i thought "wouldnt it be funny to have a list with a warhound titan and an imperial knight in it?" and. my knight is half done. the titan has been up and ready for a while. This will be the best 3k point guard list! 2 models are over half the points!
@@smoothiemcguffin2721 I officially have a legal imperial guard list up to 1560 pts, with 3 models. warhound, regimental engineseer, and acheron. Painted and battle ready. couple small details on the acheron left to go, but still.
I have a Drukari list I call "The Party Bus." It's basically 3 Archons, 3 court of Archon, and 3 Tantalus for all of them to ride in. Tantalus has room for 16 models with the firing deck 16 keyword. The rest of the points went to adding 3 Ravagers.
I was sure the AdMech meme list would be the 27 chicken walkers we can do now with 3 per squad, 3 squads max and 3 flavours, with a character in there to make it legal. The real one hurt a lot more oof :c
Adding to the list: oops all demon princes is a funny one. 3x CSM demon prince w/wings 3x CSM demon prince, then ally in 2 more demon princes from the Demon codex. Throw in vashtorr to cap it off, pretty close to 2k.
I had the same idea for your first SM list but for Chaos Space Marines. You can easily get 2000 points of only cultists, accursed cultists, dark commune, chaos spawns, traitor guardsmen from the kill team... They can all be lead by a demon prince or even Be'lakor and you can throw one or two vehicles and a defiler for good measure.
I've been wanting to do an "oops, all grots" list for a while. Obviously, 5 squads of 20 grots (gotta have the orks with them, but they can die first), 3 grot mega-tanks, 8 grot tanks, 3 squads of 6 Killa Kans, and a Zogrod Wortsnagga with his Super Runts. I'm even getting a bunch of the grot markers (grot oiler, distraction grot, etc) to turn into grot versions of those units. My favorite so far is the bomb squig from the squighog boyz.
Tyrands 2000 pts Darken the Skies Invasion Fleet Characters -Winged Hive Tyrant [Warlord] -Winged Tyranid Prime -Winged Tyranid Prime -Winged Tyranid Prime Battleline -20 Gargoyles -20 Gargoyles -20 Gargoyles Monsters -Harridan -Harridan Put a winged tyranid prime and a 20 squad of gargoyles inside of each harridan
Currently building up a list, that might probably fit the bill. == Custodes army without playing any Custodes== Most of it being theoretical and oh boi, do I not try to think of how much it will cost me. x3 But thus far the plan is 6x Prosecutors, 3x Witchseekers, 3x Vigilators and all of that supported by Aleya + 3 Knight Centuras. And I ponder to buy the Kharon Pattern Acquisitors out of Forge World Resin not only to have additionally a Horus Heresy army at the same time, but to cosplay the Rhinos as these. Wheras the rest I fill out with Imperial Reinforcements like an Imperial Knight or 3 Armigers. Actually not meant to be a joke list, as I kinda love the vibe of Sisters of Silence being their own thing, yet I don't think they'd do good in competitive play. So yeah, that's how I intend to play Custodes at some point in the future. ^^
For a 'starship troopers feel', I was working on a 'nid-list like this. 1 winged hive tyrant, close combat 2 winged warriors 3 Tervigon brood mothers 6 units of 20 termagants 3 units of 22 neurogaunts 3 units of 20 hormogaunts that be the starting point, playing unending swarm. *note: I have plenty of the apocalypse 5 man movement trays, so this army just bumrushes forward.
On the subject of the "The Floor is Bugs" list, 40k channel Mordian Glory ran an "Oops, All Conscripts" list a while back at a local tournament and it actually did shockingly well - as you pointed out with the Tyranids, it's just too many models for most armies to get through, even if they land every hit, and a lot of the time he was literally advancing his troops forward faster than the enemy could mow them down and just making it physically impossible for his opponents to reach the midfield objectives by round 4-5. As for how he managed to run that list at anything approaching tournament speed: lots and lots of movement trays, plus a couple mates to help him load/unload minis onto a dedicated wheeled tea trolley.
My brother and I did a meme list like this once fairly recently. We had to throw out the rule of ‘only 3 duplicates of the same unit’ tho. I had fun trying to kill 21 deffkpotas
To answer your question about the duration of a swarm movement phase, you probably dont believe it, but for tyranids it is EXTREMELY fast. Because your optimal strategy is LITERALLY to just push everything forward, except maybe 2 smaller ubits going into your corners. So you just roll advance per unit, pick up the most front one and move it, grab the rest and put it behind. This honestly takes MUCH less time than most armies, you dont think, you just move, literally like the swarm And funnily enough that also goes for shooting, because all you models have just one type of weapon. You pick up 40 dice and roll, a trick here is to have dice also perfectly set up and always have exactly 40 smaller dice to always use for this. It is infinitly faster than ork or guard movement, and shooting is probably one of the fastest in general, no where near as slow as again, gusrd or even space marines where each tank has like 3 more useless guns, or plague marines shooting 5 diffrent profiles on just 5 guys... I shoot with 4 whole units in that time. My turns are usually MUCH shorter than my opponents
I just found you but I thought I should add my meme contribution: Las Rave: 6 full units of Cadians, Infantry, Krieg, and Catachan. Add in 2 Platoon Command squads. This brings your points to 3000 exactly and your model count to 490. I think ant to see someone fight this with your Tyranid list.
One list that I saw thrown around at one point was the "horde Eldar" list. Just play tons of guardians/avengers. It was being memed on because the supposedly "elite" faction had one of the cheaper troop options. They're currently 10pts per model, but I seem to remember them at 9 at one point.
For Necrons, in a lot of previous editions you could spam Wraiths, toss in a Destroyer Lord and make your opponent cry with your 3++ saves and high mobility.
I didn’t realize how much I enjoy and appreciated this channel till y’all took a break if I had more money I’d totally be a patreon supporter please keep up the good work and content
I've got a theory list called Iron Hands but Grey Knights. It consists of: 3 Techmarines 3 Grand Master Nemesis Dreadknights 3 Nemesis Dreadknights 3 Venerable Dreadnoughts 3 Groups of Servitors Comes out at 1950 points but enhancements take it up to 2000. It would probably be terrible but I still kinda wanna try it
For the tyranid swarm ( if you have movment trays) I think you could be really quick with it. Because it's super simple to pilot. Move everything forward is all you need to do.
I’m actually building towards the gaunt nids list, being led by a neurotyrant instead the winged prime Other than that pretty much the same Neurogaunts were actually the easiest to get cause I ended up with essentially 4 boxes of nids leviathan halfs after some trades
#episodeidea With the combat patrols being replaced with new ones, you guys should totally make an episode where you make your own ideal combat patrols for GW to copy.
Now i want to see an army that can actually clear that Nid list off the board in one game. Also, here I thought the Admech list was going to be a 1:1 point to dollar ratio at the Marshall reveal, it somehow only got worse.
The most likely army to do it is actually a guard hoard. 6 squads of Catachans with 4 flamers each will do some serious damage. Plus, you can get grenade launchers and flamers for Cadians and generic guard groups. You'll need a lot of shots, and your orders options from your commissars aren't great. Fix Bayonets will help some.
So we have: -Guilliman and his METAL BAWXES! -Lore accurate Tyranid invasion. -Skeleton gray knights? -Weaponize the Elderly. - Drugs are LITERALLY cheaper.
Idk if it counts as a meme lust, but Catachans and Sentinels is funny. A bunch of Jungle Boys and Walkers has its own appeal on its own but catachans have interesting synergies because of how simple their rule is. Same with Armored and Scout Sentinels. The idea is to have your Catachans be lead by as many Enginseers as possible and run them up the board with Armored Sentinels. The Catachans are surprisingly good in melee with Orders and the Enginseer can bring a bunch of Servitors to benefit from any orders. The Armored Sentinels are solid Anti Tank and melee that can be healed by the Enginseer, but if it dies the Enginseer becomes an absolute Chad. Suddenly the Enginseers hit on 2+ with Strength 7, 6 attacks, AP-3... kinda nuts
So coming at that Nids list, I present Blood Angels, Sons of Sanguinius - 6 x 10 Assault Intercessors (900), 3 x 10 Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs (480), 3 x 10 Death Company Intercessors (450), 1 x 5 Death Company (125) and a Bladeguard ancient as the warlord. Every unit with Chainswords, for a Grand Total of 625 chainsword attacks on the charge.
The ultimate meme necron list is as follows: Warlord Chronomancer with 10 Warriors Ctan Shard of the Deceiver 1 Monolith 2 Seraptek Heavy Constructs Two single Convergance of Dominions What you do, is put the Monolith and Chronomancer into reserves. That's exactly 25% of your army. Next, after you put down the Deceiver and 2 Heavy Constructs, you put them into reserves as he allows up to 3 to go into reserves regardless if the limit. All that will be on the board are two pillars that can't move, can't hold objectives and can't score secondaries. And you never put down the rest of your army. I call it, "The Time Wizard forgot his appointment."
As someone who just finished painting FIVE (5) pteraxii and THREE (3) serberys, Brad just naming how many of each unit were on the AdMech list shook me to my core
For the tyranid one Ive been working on something similar In the invasion fleet detatchment I have a nuerotyrant with adaptive biology, 2 tervigons, one as my warlord with synaptic lynchpin, 60 termagants, 60 hormagaunts, 60 gargoyles, 10 barbgaunts, 22 nuerogaunts, and 3 ripper swarms Whole thing comes out to 2000 points on the dot I can return d3+3 gaunts to 4 units in each of my command phases, as long as 2 of those units are termagants within range of my tervigons
So I play orks and I have a meme list for you that I took once. I took 60 boyz, 10 nobz, 5 burna boyz, 5 lootas, 20 Kommandos, Boss snikrot, a warboss in mega armor, a big mek with shokk attack gun, and 40 gretchin. The painful thing about that list is that 1) it’s 147 dudes. And 2) it’s only 1500 points. I could take 60 more boyz and that would pit it just over 2000
The nid list could probably only be achieved by a small cabal of nid players banding their collections together and operating as a hive mind to get movement done in a semi reasonable amount of time.
I'm going to be using AdMech in my game shop's escalation league. The main meme I'm going for is trying to make battleshock matter by eventually running 3xtallboi and 3x infiltrators in the rad zone detachment. We'll see how I'm feeling about that decision in a few months.

For the second list, using movement trays since blast weapons do not have a template would speed up your turn. But supposing you can get to the objectives, you'll most likely have more OC. You can even string the swarms to make it so there is no place that is 9 inches for most if not all the board. As someone who actually did stop playing a decade ago and got back into playing with a "boomer list," I can say that the list is still viable, the models should not be removed, and I will not apologize for being a grognard.
I think the important thing about the Nids list is *only* spending CP on “Unending Waves”. And then bring entirely separate guant squads from your bag to replace the nids you’ve lost.
The things this list is actually kinda good because how is your opponent suppose to be on the objective if there is 80 gaunts surrounding it
Dont forget all the surge moves when you get shot even mildly!
This army will move more in their opponents shooting phase than youd ever hope
You can do the same thing with the new guards.
I play against a tyranid player that has a belt dice pouch and now all I can think is he has nice and gaunts in it
Wow, you mean early adopters of the markers got a rare, discontinued, misprint version at no extra charge, AND they get the full size ones too?
That's glorious, a real pacifist
Ahh yes. The 'worst' tournament, truly legendary
So we've got:

Maybe you throw in some non-transport vehicles or flyers, or a Terminator squad for teleport stuff.
That's just playing White scars though
The Terminators never move. They just teleport in and sit there, grumbling. The only way they can move is teleporting again
The tyranid list just makes you realise why in all the books and stories the heroes only get attacked by a few from the swarm at once - the player simply can't be bothered to move them all.

I was convinced to start the hobby with a meme list. Guard with maximum horses.
I thought about that list as well when started... made that army cowboys.... I did run a lot of horses but not max,I also had a lot of sentinel (chickens). My current list is still horses and sentinels as its back bone but I have changed it some what to make it a little better on the table.

3 tzaangor shamans
6 Battle line tzaangor
3 tzaangor enlightened
3 Tzeentch cultists
3 forgefieinds
2 heldrakes

Contrary to Poorhammer propaganda, there is nothing wrong with classic Space Marines - quite the contrary! Should be a glorious sight to behold.
The dislike for classic marines in this video made me sad.
Ah, yes. The null-deploy big sad. Still possible. Makes games go real quick, lets you get in the reps to really learn your faction.
I was really expecting to see the Dark Eldar list of 'None of these models are available anymore' 😂
Don’t forget for the oops all gaunts, they have a strat to bring back a killed unit, so add 100 more potential
I made the mistake when I was getting into 40K, of walking into a Warhammer Store, and telling the guy at the counter, “I think tech priests are cool, is there a way I can run a whole army of them?”
2 different ideas for Sisters:
1st one, really embracing the meme:
"Doge Vandire's wet dream"
-Saint Celestine (Barefoot of course) (135pts)
-3x10 Seraphim (420pts)
-3x10 Repentia (390pts)
-3x10 Dominions (360pts)
-3x10 Novitiates (255pts)
-3x6 Death Cult AssAssIns (315pts)
-Doge Vandire Himself (Triumph of Saint Katherine but with Doge Vandire doggo on a throne instead of the Katherine coffin, 125pts)
And that is a clean 2000pts list with many options for Doge Vandire to choose from.
2nd one, memey in a different way:
"We aren't Khorne I swear"
-Triumph of Saint Katherine (With melee Lethal Hits always on, 125pts)
-3x10 Celestian Sacresants (390pts)
-3x10 Arco-Flagellants (390pts)
-3x10 Repentia (390pts)
-3x10 Zephyrim (420pts)
-3x10 Novitiates (All melee weapons, 255pts)
-1x2 Crusaders (25)
For a crispy totally not Khorne 1995pts list.
No longer accurate because of the point changes. But the idea still stays

@@hlynkacg9529 See, /that's/ a list I could see running, except that I'm still not gonna paint that many gaunts.
very early on in 10th I heard about a "stop hitting yourself" list for marines that's basically as much shooting as possible, to be fired outside of your own shooting phase. it was something like 9 attack bikes (the ones with the little side car), 3 ATV's, 3 of the plasma cannon -toting dark angels' land speeders, and as many hellblasters as you could fit (25 at the time, could be upwards of 30 now depending on points changes).
any time a hellblaster dies, on a 3+ he gets to shoot.
any time a unit is destroyed near a land speeder, each nearby speeder gets to shoot at whatever destroyed it.
any time one of the bikes or ATV's gets shot at, each nearby bike/ATV gets to shoot at whatever shot at it.
to be fair, most of these guns don't have a very long range or enough strength to be really scary, but I think that adds to the "meme factor" of the list. as a dark angels player and a plasma enthusiast I'd totally try it out if I didn't need to buy *9* attack bikes (...yes I know this is not nearly as bad as admech...)
its so sad that admech is in such a poor state cause honestly i think they are the models with the most personality in all of 40k and it sucks that they cost so much that barely anyone can afford to play them
i love about half of the admech range but the ones i do like i enjoy a lot.
Chaplain with jump pack still has a model, sold under the Blood Angels label
It's so ridiculous, and an obvious oversight that might've actually gotten patched since then, but I love it for being ridiculous.
honestly, looking at their lore this kind of thing shouldn't be patched.
frankly Genestealer Cults lore should let them take brood brothers from Ad Mech (seriously, 2 of the major cults that kept on getting their own rules actually specialized in Ad Mech), Orks, Asuryani, Drukhari, and T'au
instead they're rather boringly limited to Astra Militarum only (presumably because a lot of the stuff they already get on their own seem to mirror the Astra Militarum so just giving them access to Astra Militarum stuff probably has the fewest balance implications)
I'm pretty sure you can make a full kroot list with the current tau index xD
Just checked, you need Vespids and tactical drones as support, but then you can fill the 2k points ^-^
also new kroot so it should be easier with the codex
2 models are over half the points!
you’re insane and i love you
Please post pictures of that when your done
@@smoothiemcguffin2721 I officially have a legal imperial guard list up to 1560 pts, with 3 models. warhound, regimental engineseer, and acheron. Painted and battle ready. couple small details on the acheron left to go, but still.
I have a Drukari list I call "The Party Bus." It's basically 3 Archons, 3 court of Archon, and 3 Tantalus for all of them to ride in. Tantalus has room for 16 models with the firing deck 16 keyword. The rest of the points went to adding 3 Ravagers.
If only it was easier to assemble a court of the archon, then maby I'd be tempted to run this
"Grot Revolushun" is always fun, especially since you could theoretically use a stompa
Deamon prince in AOS suck. Im not sure how about Deamon prince in 40k. They look great. They punch like they had a marshmallow hammer.
35:54 to illustrate how much GW hates Admech, the War Dogs and Armigers cost about the same, but you get TWO of them, and they're ~150 points each
admech needs to be combined with imperial knights. Make them 1 faction and they solve each other's problems.
I spit my coffee at 23:08 , wasn’t expecting that. Just love all the good work that Berilio adds!
I believe the chaplain with a jump pack is found on the blood angels page. He looks rather cool to me, though I can see why someone might not like it.
Saw the name, and instantly I've never wanted to build something without seeing what it was before so much in my life!

Currently building up a list, that might probably fit the bill.
== Custodes army without playing any Custodes==
Most of it being theoretical and oh boi, do I not try to think of how much it will cost me. x3
But thus far the plan is 6x Prosecutors, 3x Witchseekers, 3x Vigilators and all of that supported by Aleya + 3 Knight Centuras.
1 winged hive tyrant, close combat
2 winged warriors
3 Tervigon brood mothers
6 units of 20 termagants
3 units of 22 neurogaunts
3 units of 20 hormogaunts
that be the starting point, playing unending swarm.
This honestly takes MUCH less time than most armies, you dont think, you just move, literally like the swarm
And funnily enough that also goes for shooting, because all you models have just one type of weapon.
Poor hammer I definitely don’t go here when I’m thinking about a buying Warhammer stuff
I just found you but I thought I should add my meme contribution:
Las Rave: 6 full units of Cadians, Infantry, Krieg, and Catachan.

A beautiful balance of infantry and more infantry sure to make you cry trying to paint your army
I've got a theory list called Iron Hands but Grey Knights. It consists of:
3 Techmarines
3 Grand Master Nemesis Dreadknights
3 Nemesis Dreadknights
3 Venerable Dreadnoughts
3 Groups of Servitors
Comes out at 1950 points but enhancements take it up to 2000. It would probably be terrible but I still kinda wanna try it
This is 2 steps away from every 9th edition grey knights list
For the tyranid swarm ( if you have movment trays) I think you could be really quick with it. Because it's super simple to pilot. Move everything forward is all you need to do.
I’m actually building towards the gaunt nids list, being led by a neurotyrant instead the winged prime
Other than that pretty much the same
Neurogaunts were actually the easiest to get cause I ended up with essentially 4 boxes of nids leviathan halfs after some trades
So we have:
-Guilliman and his METAL BAWXES!
The ultimate meme necron list is as follows:
Warlord Chronomancer with 10 Warriors
Ctan Shard of the Deceiver
1 Monolith
2 Seraptek Heavy Constructs
Two single Convergance of Dominions
What you do, is put the Monolith and Chronomancer into reserves.
I love how for the second SM list you just grabbed an 8th edition list essentially 😂
For the tyranid one Ive been working on something similar
In the invasion fleet detatchment I have a nuerotyrant with adaptive biology, 2 tervigons, one as my warlord with synaptic lynchpin, 60 termagants, 60 hormagaunts, 60 gargoyles, 10 barbgaunts, 22 nuerogaunts, and 3 ripper swarms
Whole thing comes out to 2000 points on the dot
I can return d3+3 gaunts to 4 units in each of my command phases, as long as 2 of those units are termagants within range of my tervigons
Thanks for the lighthearted video! It was fun and what I needed on a tough day!
Hope the rest of your week has some moments of fun and respite
@@AVspectre Thank you! I am sure it will. I hope you have a good week as well!
I have the list and I run it casually.
I feel like movemet trays would do wonders for the Tyranid list.
I'm going to be using AdMech in my game shop's escalation league. The main meme I'm going for is trying to make battleshock matter by eventually running 3xtallboi and 3x infiltrators in the rad zone detachment. We'll see how I'm feeling about that decision in a few months.
I'm a big fan of the 2x porphyrion + canis rex list for knights.
It doesn't win but damn is it legendary.
Tall lad and his two thick eggbois.
Stabber and his round gents.
I am 110% onboard with The Floor is Bugs. I'm painting up my 'nids like the zerg from Starcraft. It's completely on brand for me. Live for the swarm, baby.
