Moving to Caribbean (Coming 06/26/2022)

“Hello to all friends and family,” Trent typed dubiously into the description box. He liked food, loved food, he adored food, and food had become important in his life. Graduating with an MBA in accounting in October 2021 and receiving a proper job opportunity, only confirmed this notion. Many his age were making similar decisions, rash as they were, which both comforted and alarmed him. Was it reckless? Was he throwing away everything he had been working for? Was it love? There’s no turning back now. He thought resolutely.
He’d made many videos in his life, though rather inconstantly until now. At age 15, to his later chagrin, he had uploaded lip sync/dance videos to the lyrics of pop artists, the names of which will forever remain secret. These videos had been effectively expunged from the internet.
In 2021 he had met someone else interested in making videos and it revived his enthusiasm. Together, they release the series/playlist Swashbuck Adventures-a series of adventures pertaining to ecological wonders, horses, and a carnival-see link below. However, in 2022, the videos began to featured Trent’s culinary… he dared to write prowess but typed intrigue instead… and so a new chapter of The Swashbuck Journal had begun.
He stared at that last typed line. A wave rolled over him and he fully came to grasp the move ahead. Soon he would be a resident of Grenada, eastern Caribbean. His mother had followed his father the Caribbean for medical school when Trent was 13 and now at age 27, he would follow a medical student. The dizzying serendipity caused him a moment of silence; it was all just a few weeks away.
Making videos about food, this was his new path, and it seemed that Caribbean food would be the next frontier. The island, from what he gathered, had fish, fruit, and spices. He would become familiar with nutmeg; he had just learned about a fish-nutmeg couscous in southern Italy (How odd!). He would make the perfect chocolate with local cocoa beans (What a dream!). He had to follow his gut especially when it rumbled with proclamation! “Thank you!” he wrote, “to every subscriber, commenter, and liker… truly, thank you.” He sat back in his chair and his island daydreams continued to move closer, and so did his youthful memories of days spent on the beach with a basket of mangos.
