Spice Island (Grenada of the Caribbean)

“There is so much we don’t know”. A quote from our accommodating host shared with me while eating his curry chicken with a side of red wine from Mendoza. This repeated phrase sums up my experience of living in, yet again, another country. There are similarities between Madagascar, Thailand, Argentina, and Grenada, for example I’ve found garlic in each of their markets regardless of how remote. Onion, too, were present and public transportation had been a crucial element in my day-to-day. However, the differences are a stark reminder of how much there will always be to learn. There is a list of local dishes holding my attention. The innovative spirit of culinary traditions never ceases to amaze me. Spice Island will undoubtable show me the secrets of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, fish, and much more. It is wonderful to have secured permanent lodging, we have a three bedroom and three-bathroom apartment and so to friends and family I implore you to visit (if I get to do the cooking).
