I've been using x8 pro 16/512 for two two weeks now since its release here in Poland. And I'd describe it as an amazing allrounder, and a complete package. There was a decent deal for early birds here, so got it for equivalent of 930 pounds. No charger in the box in the EU though, but had a ugreen PD charger lying around the house so no big deal.
Yeah man, I bought OnePlus 12, the 16/512GB version from a store here in Denmark for €849, fully expecting a 100W charger in the box - I haven't been on the market for the new phone since 2021. when we still used to get those quick chargers in the box. It's why I had originally switched from Samsung to Xiaomi 3 years ago. I had no idea this has changed in the EU and nowhere in the description of the phone in the web store did it say what it comes with...or rather what it comes without, either. Anyway, I get the OnePlus 12 in a pathetic, thin box, no charger of course. Frickin hell! Had I known, I would've ordered it directly from OnePlus for the same price without any discount. Btw, here in Denmark this was during the Black Friday discounts, otherwise its normal price is still €949...after it dropped from the original €1.149 which had been the price of it since it hit the market here until a couple of months ago, when they announced the OP13. At any rate, turns out we pay by far the highest prices here in the EU, considering I'm hearing about $700 prices, or even lower in the US, for the exact same model...and now they also rob us for a charger which should've been included in the price?! The 100W supervooc charger costs €50 - 60 on its own, and since this is my first OP phone, I have no choice but to order that from China, if I want quick charging. I tried the Xiaomi's 67W and it doesn't trigger the quick charge at all, so it takes me an hour and 20 minutes to charge the phone. So disappointing.
I agree with it but, galaxy cameras are on par too. And Galaxy lets you use the ultra wide camera to record 4k video while using your main camera. In the same video you can switch the lenses. I don't know if other phones let you do that. This is across the galaxy line up including a few of the budget phones. But the software experience with Samsung is the best in all of android. Of course, one plus and oppo have come a long way but the one UI's compatibility and smoothness across other smart appliances and gadgets is incredible. It works fast and smoothly even with other brands. Galaxy tunes the software to use your prime cores more than any other android skin. And I find optimization with TH-cam and social media is much better with the galaxy. However, I have heard one plus and oppo have made massive improvement with animations this year.
@@javedkhwaja4146 Yeah you can switch between the lenses during video recording on OnePlus. I can do it on my 2021. Xiaomi too. Samsung has become so stale it isn't even funny...it basically hasn't changed since The Note 20 Ultra, at least not for the better. I don't understand why they switched from 10x optical zoom on S23 Ultra to 5x on S24 Ultra given that the prices are increasing all the time...and if the rumors are true, this will remain the case on the S25 Ultra as well. In other words, they're releasing a new Ultra phone with a minimal aesthetic change and a new chip - which is expected anyway. And the price will likely go up again too. The 12MP ultra wide camera and one of the two telephoto ones being 10MP, is a joke in 2025. They're trying to imitate the Pixel with most of the stuff done in postprocessing, but they're just not as good at it. They haven't been able to catch up to the iPhone, nor are they even trying anymore. That's not to mention that when it comes to the other two Samsung "flagship" phones from the S series, they've literally gone backwards, by removing the 2K resolution while increasing the price all the same. Also, everywhere in the world except for the US and S. Korea, the regular Galaxy S and S+ come with the frickin Exynos chip...so we literally don't get equally as good product, even tho it's from the same producer, and yet we pay a €100 higher price. As for the software, the One UI has only recently become good, but honestly the OxygenOS is better. It's as fast and smooth as the Pixel's stock android, but it's way more interesting. The only reason Samsung and Apple are still as popular as they are is the fact that, except for the Xiaomi, there are no other Chinese phones on the US market. The vast majority of people won't bother to import them, especially since they can't be sure those phones will work on their network.
Agreed Ryan with your observations. Was going to buy the OP13 but then the Oppo Find X8 Pro came along. Had an Oppo Find X5 and that was a solid device. This just ticks all the right boxes and then some. A very good phone. On top of that Oppo UK Customer Service have been brilliant both on X and via email making this device well supported. I dont understand why all reviewers bash the quick button / camera control as "gimmicky nonsense". I bought a Find X8 Pro myself with the same expectation but i end up using it way more than expected. Its way better than Vivo's "double click volume button" to open camer because that only works when the screen is off and media isnt playing. and its also better than "double click power button" because you can also use the same button to take a picture rather than tapping the screen. Its so much easier to use for selfies and easy to build muscle memory as well but it also gives the option for double pressing power button to do something else. I really hope they keep this quick button in the years to come and not dispose of it because all the reviewers think its useless. But i still enjoyed the overall review very much!

I switched a week ago from the asus rog phone 8 pro to the find x8 pro, i must say oppo never disapoints me. The best phone ive had untill now was oppo find x2 pro, and i believe this one will be the new winner. I just miss the 3.5 jack and the bass on the rog phone speakers, but ive got a splitter with 3.5 jack and type c charge port, so its fine, and the speakers on this are good, just not so much bass. Cameras are amazing, and battery is crazy, yesterday i ended up the day with 35% battery and 8.5 hours on screen time 👍
A real insider tip here (in Europe). I got it for myself - it's awesome. The system runs as smooth as butter. The picture quality is great. A bit more compact and lighter than my S23U. The battery lasts forever. Charging from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes.
I have been using the find x8 pro for 2 weeks now, here in romania they had a good deal at launch, they included the oppo watch x , a magnetic case and the charger that come separatly , the phone its amazing , great camera great battery and the os is very fluid , better by a lot from whar samsung and apple has to offer now
I think it's also important to think about future proofing in terms of android updates and ease of repairability. Like, these phones are cool and all but what's cooler is protecting that investment. One of the reasons I opted for the S24 ultra is because I (like many friends) keep phones for 4+ years and I can reliably get them fixed, receive updates and even sell on for a good price after I've finished. Until that's there with these brands that may have superior tech, I'm not sure many will switch from the "boring" (generically speaking,I love my phone!) market leaders.
I just ordered the sibling, Find X8. I like smaller phones otherwise I was going to go for this. I've always used Oppo's phones though I live in Canada. I love their software so much, more than Google and Samsung. Their AI system works everywhere while Google and Samsung can't
Price is crazy in UK. I normally buy phone out right and use a SIM only deal. Think the OP 13 will be overall better price wise. Good that you recommend this though
Agreed that the OnePlus 13 will be cheaper than the Oppo Find X8 Pro. However having said that the Oppo Find X8 Pro is the same price as the Oppo Find X5 Pro when launched in the UK. Plus if you subbed to the newsletter you got 10% off the RRP and £70 Bluetooth earbuds plus a £299 watch which you could easily sell both on reducing the price paid even further....
As much as I plan to get a Xperia 1 VI as an upgrade from my Oppo Reno 10X Zoom Sony still seems to be one of the worst brands for "quick n' casual" phone photography.
Watching this on find x8 I'm now considering x8 pro but man it's hard to let this x8 go 😂 the experience is phenomenal. (my complain is just ergonomics on base model, which i think rounded edges on x8 pro is much more comfy)
Their cameras can't compete with the flagships of Samsung, Apple, Oppo and Vivo. but OP do insane deals like 500$ on OP12 though so I'd say their value proposition is off the charts and I wish more people realize that than buying the most expensive iphone every 2 years mindlessly
I like it when there are still phone companies out there making better phones, not just dumping better AI. You will never see the Big 3 giving you value for your money anymore, except Chinese companies. The x8 Pro is a great alternative for those who can't access the Vivo x200 pro, for a similar value. Then again, Vivo is releasing the global version of Funtouch OS soon as well.
This phone truly is amazing. I'm wondering, and I hope you can help with an opinion. Should I take Oneplsu 13 or Oppo Find X8 Pro? I have a very sweet deal on Oneplus 13. I don't know why, but I think 13 with X Elite and Oxygen OS is better than Oppo. What do you think? Can you please help?
Got mine for around 1000$ global version black 512gb/16 it’s not cheap (Chinese version is cheaper less than 800$) .but it gets most of the things right only one complaint really .the fingerprint placement and it should’ve been ultrasonic

Really? Ive had zero problems with fingerprint sensor, and its so damn quick. Much better than my previous rog phone 8 pro. I just wish they would update the haptic camera sensor with some mapping option, so we could choose another use for it like opening an app, or maybe a gaming trigger
i was waiting for the OP13 global launch but i'm loving the Oppo, i prefer the design and the telephoto setup... the OP should be cheaper but i'm starting to find some price discounts and it starts at 512gb... i think i'm getting the Oppo
I just really hope more flagships pickup Sony's physical continuous zoOM telephoto cameras. Would love to see one in a Pixel, Samsung, Oneplus, Zenfone, or even a Fairphone.
watching with Oneplus 13 .. I struggle to make a decision when i was in Hong Kong as i was looking at Vivo & Oppo as well but at the end I Picked Oneplus as it has Snapdragon Elite ... Did i made a bad decision 😥 ?! Battery Life is not as good as i hope for .. i have been using LG V60 before my Oneplus 13 Purchase .. Good thing is that it does charge quickly ..
It entirely depends on your personal preferences. I have both the S24U and the Find X7U and prefer OneUI. But in every other category the OPPO wins for me🤷
What if oppo and one plus used the static camra ring as a zoom scroller for there camaras rather than having a iphone style button i meal if they have a quick button close to the corner to take photos then fair play but holding your phone in landscape that ring should be made into a zoom scroller or even have touch sensative volume rocker as a zoom scroller at the top then shutter at the bottom ideas ideas.......
Living in Europe, we have access to more diverse phone. I'm thinking about buying the black version but still hesitating with 6.3' Pixel 9 Pro. It seems like a great phone, and i could say the same thing about all the latest flagship. Whatever the brand, they are all good.
I hate that these dope phones never come to the states. Like, I know we'll get the similar looking OnePlus 13, but I want more options at the high end than the four that we currently have
Even though I like what Samsung brings to the table in Ultras but that gigantic slab is not my cup of tea. That's why I opted for the regualr S23 and it's been delivering 80% of those features without any issues. Only problem is battery life being a "compact" device. It overheats while gaming and drains battery quickly while shooting video.
3.5 mm jack still missing.... Phones are becoming huge, camera bumps have a place but don't have provision for 3.5mm jack.... It doesn't matter who uses it nowadays, but it's a matter of providing the facilities....
The camera sensors are a massive downgrade from the find x6 pro. The x6 pro had a 1 inch main sensor coupled with two 1/1.56 inch sensors (ultra wide and telephoto). This one came with a 1/1.4 main sensor, a 1/2, a 1/2.5, and a 1/2.76. If they wanted to keep the camera bump as slim as possible by omitting the 1 inch sensors then they should have at least replaced the lyt808 with a lyt t808 for main sensor (the latter comes with dual layer stacked CMOS tech) AND kept the two 1/1.56 sensors from the x6 pro
I lost my S-Pen last week and Im missing it so much, I'd by Oppo or Xiaomi, actually more likely Sony if it wasnt for the S-Pen and Good Lock as long as Samsung has those and no ones bettering Goodlock I stay with Sammy
@@vinylmodsmanitoba I'm not too bothered as long as they don't rock about too much, they don't anyway if you use a case. As for what they look like, I spend about 1% of my time using my phone looking at the back so I don't care about what it looks like
Great phone, however it misses two important features, which you didn't mention: android auto and e-sim. For someone who travels a lot (be it by car or to another country by plane) any of those could a deal breaker. Same thing with vivo x200 pro (which is overall a better package imo). No a 6000mha battery isn't strange is just a back to the future move my 1st smartphone had a 6000mha in 2011 manufacturers just started to go for thinner phones one day without asking ppl what they would like, thinner phones or a bigger battery It can be a monster but it's ugly af so that alone is deal breaker for me
design is subjective... such design is not new, it is somewhat comparable to lg g8 (except for the notch of course)... even iphone 11 pro is similar to that... i just prefer the completely flat display... but, ye, that (and x200 pro) will do...
All phones from the last 5 years look the same and also perform almost the same, better efficiency sure but I have never gone a full day with a charge, when we have 2 full days I’ll buy new phone
Factor in the following a free Oppo X watch worth £299 Enco Air4 Bluetooth earbuds and offering up to £270 trade in for a device such as the Oppo Find X2 lite suddenly this device isn't as expensive...

A real insider tip here (in Europe). I got it for myself - it's awesome. The system runs as smooth as butter. The picture quality is great. A bit more compact and lighter than my S23U. The battery lasts forever. Charging from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes.
I have been using the find x8 pro for 2 weeks now, here in romania they had a good deal at launch, they included the oppo watch x , a magnetic case and the charger that come separatly , the phone its amazing , great camera great battery and the os is very fluid , better by a lot from whar samsung and apple has to offer now
Especially as their FindX7Ultra was stunning, the FindX8Ultra confirmed👌🏼 for March. Oppo holding back resolution on this.
Surprised you didn't mention that it is also capable of recording in LOG
Right but what about the Vivo X200 Pro?
it's the same phone on a different market
@@maevwat Same market, they both got an international release.
@@khanyilemgwebi2575 I'm not sure about that, most youtubers are saying its hard to get the x200 pro outside china
@@maevwatNot the same. Two different brands. This partners with Hasselblad for the cameras while Vivo partners with Zeiss.
Also a good phone and similar to the Oppo in some ways. They are sister companies owned by BBK electronics.
Thank you very much for this great review!!
I am in doubt between the Vivo X200 Pro and the Oppo Find X8 Pro now.....😅
I think it's also important to think about future proofing in terms of android updates and ease of repairability.
Getting one in the New Year 👍🏼
I just ordered the sibling, Find X8. I like smaller phones otherwise I was going to go for this. I've always used Oppo's phones though I live in Canada. I love their software so much, more than Google and Samsung. Their AI system works everywhere while Google and Samsung can't
1:30 is THIS how the panel on OnePlus 13 will be?
Price is crazy in UK. I normally buy phone out right and use a SIM only deal. Think the OP 13 will be overall better price wise. Good that you recommend this though
Agreed that the OnePlus 13 will be cheaper than the Oppo Find X8 Pro. However having said that the Oppo Find X8 Pro is the same price as the Oppo Find X5 Pro when launched in the UK. Plus if you subbed to the newsletter you got 10% off the RRP and £70 Bluetooth earbuds plus a £299 watch which you could easily sell both on reducing the price paid even further....
I got mine here in New Zealand and must say am damn impressed
Gas cooker plates on a phone is wild
Torn between this and the X200 Pro.
Sony had that camera button since forever .
As much as I plan to get a Xperia 1 VI as an upgrade from my Oppo Reno 10X Zoom Sony still seems to be one of the worst brands for "quick n' casual" phone photography.
Cuz Sony made the Xperia line for pro photographers, not for casual user@@handlemonium
Watching this on find x8
I'm now considering x8 pro but man it's hard to let this x8 go 😂 the experience is phenomenal. (my complain is just ergonomics on base model, which i think rounded edges on x8 pro is much more comfy)
Me too! Plus the pro having a slight curve screen makes me think twice..
After reading the comments here, I'm ditching my Galaxy and getting the Oppo :D
Mark your calendar for Jan 7 @ 10:30 est for OP13 launch.
Mark your calendar for Jan 7 @ 10:30 est for green lines on screen release.
@markafc_ HaHa!! That was those darn Samsung screen from 2 years ago. Too funny!
Their cameras can't compete with the flagships of Samsung, Apple, Oppo and Vivo.
but OP do insane deals like 500$ on OP12 though so I'd say their value proposition is off the charts and I wish more people realize that than buying the most expensive iphone every 2 years mindlessly
@@markafc_never had that issue, stop copy pasting this lie everywhere
@@kklc5477 500? Where? On officical site its almost 900...
The charger doesn't come in the box, I got mine from o2 !no charger or case
But awesome phone
What about the subpar connectivity both wifi and cellular?
Fab fone and a good review, but wrong about the charger. In UK there's no charger or case. Just a cable and SIM card tool
Where did you buy a global version? I've been searching everywhere without luck.
@@justincredible1990 wondamobile used to have it (hong kong version ) same as global but doesn’t support esim it has it in the settings but can’t add one .
@AJDPS I've been looking both on Wonda and Giztop and they're both out. I dunno where else to turn now.
Really? Ive had zero problems with fingerprint sensor, and its so damn quick. Much better than my previous rog phone 8 pro. I just wish they would update the haptic camera sensor with some mapping option, so we could choose another use for it like opening an app, or maybe a gaming trigger
Is there a way to get this phone in europe ?
i was waiting for the OP13 global launch but i'm loving the Oppo, i prefer the design and the telephoto setup... the OP should be cheaper but i'm starting to find some price discounts and it starts at 512gb... i think i'm getting the Oppo
8k recording is available on the 9400,the Vivo X200 pro has it.
I just really hope more flagships pickup Sony's physical continuous zoOM telephoto cameras. Would love to see one in a Pixel, Samsung, Oneplus, Zenfone, or even a Fairphone.
The thing I like about your channel is you let us know the phone your talking about rite away😊
But he still uses clickbait tittles and vague thumbnails with random text in it
If I buy this for the US market, will the network bands work?
Thanks!
Yes, it works fine, at least on T-Mobile
watching with Oneplus 13 ..
Is the non pro version still a good buy for its camera?
Will you daily drive it like your OnePlus?
Can i ask about the software? Is it better than OneUI?
It is!
Where could I get a global version online?
Mi 9t / Pro tinha uma tela com bordas 2.5 D mas agora isso é relevante ?!
Hi Ryan, please review ulefone armour 23 ultra
Do you know if the android auto works well? Thats the only thing holding me back from buying the Find X8 Pro or Vivo X200.
Living in Europe, we have access to more diverse phone. I'm thinking about buying the black version but still hesitating with 6.3' Pixel 9 Pro.
It seems like a great phone, and i could say the same thing about all the latest flagship. Whatever the brand, they are all good.
which version is this? the chinese version or the gobal. Where do you get it? I can't find a store for the global!!!!!!!!!!!
Isn't that screen curve just the same one that was on the pixel 2 XL? I like my screen flat, like actually all the way flat.
2.5D displays might just make a comeback
I hate that these dope phones never come to the states. Like, I know we'll get the similar looking OnePlus 13, but I want more options at the high end than the four that we currently have
Wondamobile or average dad tech store sells them
Ryan, the Vivo X200 Pro Mini is better that phone!
Dimensity 9400 supports 8k60 8-bit and 8k30 10-bit recording, former only with h.265.
Its screen protector is curved or flat??
01:52 its called a 3D-glass flat display
how do you overlook that? it's freaking massive. too big for me. (that's what she said)
Great Phone indeed
i'm stoked for 6k batteries with 100w charging.
though if I jump, it will be for a smaller phone, like xiaomi 15
Standart X8 is my choice, looks better, have flat screen, almost the same features as PRO
Does custom rom work on Huawei P30??
Lovely
What is the name of that car racing game?
Even though I like what Samsung brings to the table in Ultras but that gigantic slab is not my cup of tea. That's why I opted for the regualr S23 and it's been delivering 80% of those features without any issues. Only problem is battery life being a "compact" device. It overheats while gaming and drains battery quickly while shooting video.
Oppo please bring the x8 ultra globally per the rumours!
Plz do a review of oneplus 9pro or, comparison between oneplus 9 pro vs pixel 9 pro
I chose the Vivo X200 pro over this phone because camera and the ugly dialer camera bump. But I love oppo's software better
Never Pay that
The only problem is the unlockable bootloader.
3.5 mm jack still missing.... Phones are becoming huge, camera bumps have a place but don't have provision for 3.5mm jack.... It doesn't matter who uses it nowadays, but it's a matter of providing the facilities....
They're never coming back buddy, let it go
@ChrisJohannsen yea it will be added to "forgotten tech" soon
Wish i could trade in my s24 ultra for the vivo x200 pro. That phone seems like a beast!!!
Taper? You know who else had a taper?
Why buy this when there is a much better phone by Vivo - the X200 pro. Same price and much better camera hardware and software
I lost my S-Pen last week and Im missing it so much, I'd by Oppo or Xiaomi, actually more likely Sony if it wasnt for the S-Pen and Good Lock
as long as Samsung has those and no ones bettering Goodlock I stay with Sammy
Why does Ryan look ai generated
In US and can't buy one.
Same. It seems it's not for the US market though since it and the OnePlus 13 are basically the same phone and the OP13 is coming to North America.
@@justincredible1990 I seen you can preorder the one plus 13 now.
They take their inspiration from Xiaomi
Myself, I'm waiting for the OnePlus 13
I was excited until I seen that cancerous camera bump
It doesn't stick out as far as most of them
@parshakamarsh Camera bumps are going bye bye and I for one am relieved for it.
So i personally stuck with OnePlus for those reasons.
@@pavelbratchenko3885 it does have android auto and eSIM.
My UK version supports e-sim and Android Auto works perfectly
Right, global version supports both
Oh, my bad, sorry! I thought colorOS doesn't support android auto and I didn't knew that there is a global version of this phone.
@@pavelbratchenko3885 UK version supports esim, global version (i.e.hong kong version) doesn't support esim, just has a dual sim tray.
I think Samsung dex its not going to get supported anymore
No a 6000mha battery isn't strange is just a back to the future move my 1st smartphone had a 6000mha in 2011 manufacturers just started to go for thinner phones one day without asking ppl what they would like, thinner phones or a bigger battery
It can be a monster but it's ugly af so that alone is deal breaker for me
Absolutely ugly asf
design is subjective...
such design is not new, it is somewhat comparable to lg g8 (except for the notch of course)...
even iphone 11 pro is similar to that...
i just prefer the completely flat display...
but, ye, that (and x200 pro) will do...
All phones from the last 5 years look the same and also perform almost the same, better efficiency sure but I have never gone a full day with a charge, when we have 2 full days I’ll buy new phone
Curved display is an instant nope
But it's the kind of "barely curved" edge that's easily protected by a well-fitting case unlike a flagship Oneplus or Motorola Edge 👍
Ok cool. But the camera bump is so ugly.
Curved screen on the edge. 100% NO for me.
Anything else other then the S Ultras on a sale are a waste of time.
Samsung makes the best smartphones and no one comes even near.
The End.
Oh my God..He reviewed a non oneplus phone...bravo...... approvedo.....😂
8 mins in - not coming to the U.S.
Because we're getting the OnePlus 13.
Gimme thaaaaattt
The oppo is a downgrade imo the find x7 pro and previous generations had better screens
Oppo find x8 is more value for money than the pro version oppo find x8 Pro is kind of overpriced
Factor in the following a free Oppo X watch worth £299 Enco Air4 Bluetooth earbuds and offering up to £270 trade in for a device such as the Oppo Find X2 lite suddenly this device isn't as expensive...
16GB /512GB and those cameras with a top quality chip for £1049 doesn't sound overpriced to me, especially when there are deals to be had
