61 years since it was No1... and still fab! 😊
Such wonderful music. No group will ever be like The Shadows.
42 years on,it sounds just the same, just as fantastic. Thanks guys!
Hank Marvin is a real Guitar Hero…the original and still the best.
The wonderful Shadows takes me back to sixties. What a beautiful piece of music, what a great band!
I agree Maria.
Me too! 😊
Timeless classic. Written by Jerry Lordan and performed by the Shadows, with maestro Hank playing lead, as ever, on this beautiful song. Deservedly the Shads biggest hit.
simply the best and never forgotten, the instrumental group of all times
We were so lucky to have all this music when we were young
they can fill a whole stadium, fantastic.... which guitar band can do this even then? Only The Shadows.
The sound of my teens ,it takes me back in an instant .
Absolutely the best band that ever graced this planet.... No contest, no arguement
Yes you're right 👍👍
Absolutely right! Unique and wonderful.
One of the most beautiful songs.
Every green shadows 6
A timeless classic.
Wonderful indeed! Thank you Jerry Lordan.
Really struck me as perfectly named back when we were all kids… rang out from a transistor radio on a sunny day in a Wonderful Land
Really Wonderful concert. I was with my wife in the London Palladium the 14 June 2004. Greetings from Chile
Who says you need to have lyrics, and a singer? This music speaks volumes. Two minutes of melodic magic and excellent musicians. Thanks Jerry.
The difference between then and the time in which you posted your comments illustrates a deep cultural chasm.
Think of all the instrumental music composed produced and presented across the imagined "genres". Now, what happened?
People aren't allowed to "pencil in" their anesthetic imaginings to music anymore. Recall some of the pathetic visual schlock cranked out by the "handlers" of the music industry of the 80s through today.
".....we control all that you see (and think)...." borrowed from a 1960s US TV sci-fi series, THE OUTER LIMITS.
DAMMIT, let us think and feel as the music moves us. People loved both artists and music, vocals or no. A tip of the hat to HANK and the gang from us on this side of the pond, and across all the decades. EXCELSIOR!
(oh, and Mr Steed sends his regards!)
Yes, excellent and clear music.
I agree with you completely especially when ii comes to the SHADOWS
You got it....
@@nealbradleigh5069 As a musician I never cared about lyrics and even today I often say that the lyrics are for people who do not understand music in the first place, while being aware of some great songs that have a masterpiece of a text.
He is enjoying every note, every note is the perfect note, at the right time and amount , he loves his music, that is why we love his music too.
Observed by us, but only truly experienced by the artist. My parents saw Miles, Dizz, Cannonball, Sarah Vaughn et al hit that vibe. Think of Santana and imagine ftom there.
Everyone need to put in that "woodshedding" time, to reach the point of balance between you and your craft.
No, it doesn't have to be music, but it should be an art form.
As you sense their aesthetic bliss, think, and move toward your own. Period. Don't waste the inspiration of these artists!
Its understandable with a guitar great like Hank fronting a band that we dont notice anyone else, but I think Bruce (Welch)deserves a cheer for making the whole effect so good. He is a great player in his own right, and deserves more recognition. Good on ya too Bruce.
Most definitely YES, top man is Bruce!! ❤😊
Don't forget these guys were at #1 for over 8 weeks with this absolute classic - brilliant stuff
Fully agree.
Just try to imagine being able to i n cent such a melody!Breathtaking. The music is from another galaxy. This comment catches it perfectly.Lordan is worth remembering for this melody alone.
I brought my dad to see them in Dublin, it was a great concert Hank Marvin smiled with every song
Totally obsessed with the Shadows and their music. Gutted I only saw them live once as a very young"un and never appreciated how phenomenal they were! There are some quite good tribute bands but the standard of the real thing is unachievable for most. Thank goodness we have the videos, which I watch daily.
The best, there is, the best there ever was, the best there will ever be,
The Shadows.
Truly the greatest of all times THE SHADOWS
Wonderful song, The great group of The Worlds. Salute from Chile.
Mark Knopfler is the first to admit Hank was an early inspiration of his, as he was for most of us!
My dad absolutely loved The Shadows, we went to The Cliff and The Shadows final tour. We played this song at his funeral. I don't think I'll ever be able to listen to them without crying :( R.I.P dad. You will live on through music x
You spelled never wrong😂🤣😊😆
Jessica, i know what you mean. I am getting on now, but 2 songs of the Shadows remind me of the love of my life who died years ago, Wonderful Land and Atlantis. We were 2 youngsters very much in love in the army. These two pieces of music and "I Vow to Thee my Country" Will be played at my funeral
Jessica, here I am replying to you years later. Bawling my eyes out for exactly the same reason. Miss my dad so much, can see him getting dinner ready listening to this and dancing around. Lost my dad over five years ago. Sorrow never leaves me. X
Wow, this is such a weird coincidence. Just checking through Shadows songs for my own dad's funeral. I will definitely thinking about him every time I hear this.
@@stefan86wtf thinking of you. X
This evokes so many memories of those times, people and places from my youth. As a young man you never imagine saying that, but then.................Wonderful!
One of my lifelong heroes, bless you Hank for all the inspiration and the rest of the Shads to
Masterpiece!
Thanks Hank Marvin!
Stunning....I love the Shads
This piece of music ans Atlantis remind me of the happiest and saddest time of my life when I was in the army. I found the love of my life and circumstances tore us apart. 57 years later he is still the love of my life. I am definitely a one man woman
Amo todas essas musicas dessa banda maravilhosa eles são muito show parabéns muito lindos ❤❤
THE SHADOWS - the best!!!
The fender man!! The echo man!! The red Strat man!!
The one and only Hank B. Marvin!
Thank you
Enjoy this moment for what is, coz you'll never hear its like again
Timeless classic.
:) my dad been fan of this amazing band since he was a kid,, i remember the tears in his eyes when i gave him his first Shadows concert ticket. :) worth every penny.
I was 5 and almost joined in Wonderful Land
This is truly wonderful.
Yes he is British born but now lives in Perth Western Australia... Has done for many years...Emigrated to Australia in 1986 and still lives there!!!!
My comments were that we are proud to have him as an Aussie ( An adopted Aussie I meant ). Hope that clears things up.
The Shadows forever...
Brilliant...they sound better now than they ever did.!!!
Doug Thomas The wonders of modern technology.
Amazing. A Fender, an amp, a bit of echo and his hands, that's all.
A quality band. Hank Marvin rates as one of the best guitarists of all time. The Shadows. Forever.
As soon as he hits that 1st note you know its Hank Marvin
Wonderful! Takes me back to my teen years. Unforgettable. The Shadows forever. ❤
I have jus tbought this DVD and it is an absolute masterclass in tone, phrasing and unparralled melodic prowess, highly recommended indeed for Shadows fans and anyone guitarist with a modicum of taste!
This is music from the days when music was there because musicians simply liked to play. When music was music and not words with 2 tones around, when music was of the essence and not what 'musicians' would wear on stage - when each week there were at least 10 new titles out that one couldn't stop listening to.... Those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end - how wrong we were :-(
Merveilleux !!!!!
They still sound magic.
So many memories of this wonderful music
Wow. What an honor. I can just imagine what a great memory it is. Its one of my favorites also.
Every guy wanted to form a band with his buddies without any music lessons ,no matter the passion was huge .
To Jessica G Lucie Clayton and tillyalt1: I am with you all with the Shadows music. So glad that it has brought so much joy and happiness into your lives in the face of sadness and loss x
Hank B Marvin could make a guitar talk, and influenced people like Clapton, Harrison and Woods to learn to play. No idle guitar strumming here...
Thanks for posting 5 stars
yes, you can notice Hanks ways were unmistakably all under the way Clapton developed his slow hand own thing. It must be very heartwarming for the Master to recognize his admirers took advantage of his career achievements to help them become advanced in their own ways. Your career and stardom wasn't just for yourself and many audiences receptive to, but help raise a generation of greats too
Never better said, if they reached their own heights, it was because they stood on the shoulders of a giant guitar master as Hank when younger themselves. I believe they would be always grateful to have grown under their Shadows
I was blown away by the Shadows on receiving their album circa 1977!
Ever green Hank Marvin... Love his performance ...The shadows is the best group that I love their music since 70 when I heard their music PEACE PIPE and The Breeze and I..The way and the style of musical performance of this group is unique and special to recognize their music specially by the smooth guitars...
.
The band that set the standard
Fantastic group, have always loved their music.
this is one of my favourite shadows tunes of all time.
I always wished it were a longer song,my favourite Shadows tune.
Este tema musical forma parte de la lista de mis canciones preferidas, es una verdadera delicia escucharlo, seguramente que dentro de 1000 años se seguirá escuchando con agrado.
Such genius! These are the original, true masters of guitar rock.
What a fantastic team Always looking descent, no swearing and offensive remarks and neatly dressed
This is my ALL-TIME-FAV. track~~~~~~~ Just gives me peace of mind.
We all age and pass on, but the music stays young, I believe it is one of God's great gifts to us. Your Dad felt this in his soul as I do, and one day we all we see this same thing performed in Heaven.....Listen and savor the sweet love of your dad and remember...we are all living eternity right now...
Wonderful Song. ❤
Every time I hear this song, I'm taken away to a heavenly beach, embarking on a wonderful adventure.
wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I played this over 5 times in a row. Wonderful song. Thanks Marvin!
Sempre uma referência musical. Os maiores!
Quite right. This particular tune and performance made me a Shadows fan forever - since 1962. I was 17 then...
Pay attention to that fabulous coreography during the performance.

This hit by The Shadows was the 102nd #1 song of the Rock Era in the United Kingdom.
extraordinaire, super groupe
I love it! This is 60's music, if you don't like it, too bad , keep moving on, there's a reason why they were #1.
this is just awesome!!!!!!!! hank marvin is like one of the top five guitarists of all time............
My favourite of all the Shadows songs. I remember spending ALL my pocket money on the EP. in the 60s.
The Shadows are the greatest musician, Wonderland was my favourite...
@RoyalFlush2112 you sound like a gambler but I go by inkstinct...
Fan des Shadows , depuis 1959 et pour toujour .

This track is orgasm man! What melody... don't it take you gliding back forty odd years?
Great sound!
Thanks Hank .... The Best Guitar Player Ever !
For me in the 60´s their music was from yesterday, but now i now, they had a big influence to the british pop music.
It's the Wonderful Land of the Shadows.
absolutely fantastic what more can I say..
Musica per le mie orecchie sono stati bravissimi a farci ballare guancia a guancia che bello lo ricordo come fosse ieri e invece sono passati 64 anni wow.
Exactly the same experience. I went to see The Shadows with Cliff Richard. He was also an enormous fan and all the Shadows songs are memories. I'm going to play this on his funeral too. Good luck with your loss.
this a lovely lilting tune - a strong 'feel good' effect on you
Hank you are the greatest and let there not be said any different...Great to have you as an Aussie!!!!!
Ventures take note, this is the greatest instrumental band of all time
Beyond any doubt, whatsoever!!
I've posted elsewhere about the memories that their music evokes, but this one is an even better example.
That guitar truly 'sings'! Please, please tour again!
Just got back from their 02 Arena concert with Cliff. They are STIll as AWESOME as ever, if not even better. Absolutelly brilliant!
😇 Wonderful Land è wonderful brano , nel repertorio degli Shadows , con le mani delicati di Hank Marvin 💓 impeccabile suono della chitarra elettrica 🎸
