In Device Manager, Under Ports, I ONLY have BMW Scanner (COM 3), Nothing else and it does not have a ! or x. Under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, I do not have USB Serial Converter. BUT I do have BMW Scanner listed there, which is new. I have one called Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controler. I went out of Test Mode and rebooted. NOTE: I tried to install this in the past and did not get it to work. I did delete the prior drivers and software. I tried to install it twice using your instruction and got the same results. Any idea what I can try next? I am on a ASUS laptop and using Windows 10 Home
Thanks
I have similar problem if not the same
Can it work on windows 10. then, can we troubleshoot k bus
Eventually I managed to get everything installed and performed a scan (2000 E46 328i). Plugged into the OBD port under dash. When scanning I got a message that it couldn't connect to the IKE and EWS modules. DME and EGS post, but the rest of the modules won't report. I forget the message. This is loaded on WIN10 home, 64 bit, OS build 19042.964
Also know that though the scanner loads and scans, a BMW scanner Icon doesn't post under PORTS, in Device Manager, only a USB serial port (com3) posts, which disappears when the scanner is disconnected.
Thanks for your guidance
I'm waiting on the cable
I think with the M52TU engine you have to plug in to the 20 pin diagnostic port, not the OBD2 port to read all the modules. Go buy one of those 20 pin pacman to 16 pin OBD2 adapters off of Amazon and it should read them. I have inpa, ncs and ista and thats the port I use and all modules report.
As I said I'm waiting for the scanner 1.4.0 plug but I can't see it not working
Having the same issue, so frustrating. Did check under the hood and I have the old round obd port as well. Guess last bet is too try one of those...
Great job
Hi, I followed this exactly and still get drivers are not installed. I then followed another guide and the drivers show as installed but I then get hardware faulty when I connect the cable and open the software. Does it need to be connected to the car? Thanks
Yes the software will say hardware faulty until your connected to the car
Also getting drivers are not installed when i open app. However, it says in device manager that driver are installed. Can you provide me link to another guide?
good job ,thank you
Hi ,
Can you check 02 sensors and vanos …?

Can you use this scanner for Pre-Facelift BMW’s such as ‘00 328ci ?
Anyone managed to solve the issue where it still says that the drivers are not installed? Although in device manager it shows that everything is up to date?
Have the same problem. Did you find any fix?
Also, have the same problem. In device manager it shows that drivers are installed, but when i open app, it says device drivers are not installed. Any fix so far?
@@eirikasdoel880 same thing with me shows in device manager everything is installed correctly but when I run the scanner it shows the drivers aren’t installed
Did you guys solve it?
Will this software work on my 1998 BMW Z3 manufactured in 11/97?
Did you ever get an answer on this?
Everything seems to install fine but I don't have an icon on my laptop to get into the program of the scanner. big help would be greatly appreciate it! thank you!!
I followed this and it worked on two laptops with win10 64bit about 6 months ago
Now when I tried to use BMW scanner again it doesn’t work on both laptops?
Says “hardware not ready”
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and didn’t work
When I plug the cable back in with no drivers installed I get “FT232R USB UART” instead of “BMW scanner v14x”?
Any help
It was working on both laptops before?
Is it able to clear cog warning light ? My auto transmission is in limp home mode ?
Where's the download for the program itself, not the drivers?
Also does it work with bimmergeeks cable? and does it work on Windows 11?
Hey Evan,
I know it's been a while but the download link for the Driver's is missing, any chance of uploading it here?
EDIT - Sorry., I just realised I'm blind and didn't see it, thanks for your vids much appreciated.
Where do I find the linked software? I don't see them. please advise. thank you
Hi Mate followed this guide a couple times and has always worked now I'm on a make with paralles running Windows 10 pro, I cant seem to get this to work install the software no problem and connecting the scanner shows in other devices. but when restarting in test mode I can't get the drivers to install just point blank refuses. any Idea's to whats going on?
Does this software compatible with any OBD scanner for E46?
No you need the scanner linked below
@@EvanGoyuk Thank you
On your google drive I do not see the 4006kb file for "BMW Scanner v1.40 install" which is shown in your video.
yeah im having that same issue
I am trying to download this. And I did download it I’m able to open the driver 64bit file and the steps to install the driver. But the actual bmw scanner v14 file.says hardware faulty. Rar file. When I try to open it. It ask me what app I want to open it with. And I’m unsure the only thing I have installed on this computer is mikes easy bmw standard tools. What do I need to do?
Hey man you see those b4 shocks, and how they were sitting so high up! How did you fix it?
Still sitting high apparently they are suppose to drop after 3,000 miles not buying it I want to switch struts lol
@@EvanGoyuk ah yeah I see. But did you buy the m sport b4s? Or are the standard ones?
Standard ones I was not aware they had two different versions
@@EvanGoyuk yeah sameee, I just found out that all coupes come with m sport suspension as standard regardless of the trim level. You need the m sport suspension b4s I installed the standard ones and had the very same problem. So I’m getting the m sport suspension.
So I don’t think that’s true as my vin does not show sport suspension and I took standard springs off my car based on the color tags green and red. This indicates standard suspension
Is there a version without Hardware Faulty message or is this normal that it appears when not connected to the car?
Hi please can you do a video on navcoder as well.. Appreciate it bro.
Installed it following your directions and my Live Data does not work on a modules
Any suggestions?
i think i installed it properly, it opens up drivers are installed scanner is connecter, everything seems fine, but it tells connection error with ike then connection error with ews and doesnt recognize car at all, can you help me whats the problem? and how i can fix it
Inpa or bmw scanner to try and diagnose a 323ci (e46) convertible top that won’t open?
Bmw scanner
Thank you. A couple things
1. Looks like the installer is no longer in your google drive
2. I’ve tried this exact process one two computers (windows xp and windows7) and both machines give all indication the drivers correctly installed but when I hope the bmw scanner application the very first window pops up with a red box saying “device drivers are not installed”
Any thoughts please?
It is still there
@@EvanGoyuk thanks, figured out what I did wrong
At 2:25 it sounds like you’re saying “doesn’t need to be plugged into the car”; maybe that’s why I can’t get it to work? Does it or does it not need to be plugged into the obd port when installing drivers?
Can I delete transport mode with this software
After i fixed non start my spare key no longer opens car via remote also is it normal for it not to fit in obd port as ut kept dropping out
