When I'm stressing about nonsense, I watch these wonderful videos because they always put me exactly where I need to be. RIP Daddy Jack you are sorely missed!
This guy feels very genuine and so smooth with food. Also you can get the big heart vibe from him as well. If only there were more ppl like that in this world.
If any family or friends of this awesome man reads this, please know that he may be gone but not forgotten. Daddy left an incredible legacy that the world still gets to enjoy and learn from him. God bless🙏🏻
The tips he passes on are also cool. Not everybody is a trained cook or even cooks on a pro level in a restaurant so all thise little tips are cool for a novice like me.
I just found out 30 miles ago that Daddy Jack passed away earlier this year. In my industry we’ve lost some huge personalities this year too & to pop over to one of my top 5 cooking channels and see Jack’s daughters’ video a few moments ago just fills me with sadness at 4:30am on a blustery West Coast Washington morning. The best way to honor this bonafide local legend is to cook up some of his dishes. Don’t forget to add lots of love (and chopped green onion)💔 🥘 🔥
The way this guy cooks is legendary. Rip. This is how I’ve seen some restaurant owners cook/ somewhat like my father. Non chalant and straight forward with their cooking. No bs. No measurements. Comes out surprisingly amazing with simple ingredients.
Glad you enjoyed it Tom! Best food in the dives! Jack. Become a Member of “Cooking With The Blues” www.patreon.com/cookingwiththeblues For Aprons,Blackening Seasoning, CD’s and other Memorabilia www.daddyjacksnewlondon.com
Jack often takes a taste right out of the pan, when it would be too hot for most people, plus he moves pans and plates in and out of the broiler with his bare hands, impervious to the heat. I guess a lifetime of working in a hot kitchen conditions people.
Living proof the Good die Young. Rip. Thank you for leaving us great videos and great recipes all put together with your great personality. Your videos are fun and relaxing the legacy of Jack lives on.
I am so all in on this recipe. I love comfort food and this takes the former "Sloppy Joe," to next level. Thank you Daddy Jack for the secrets! "Sloppy Diablo," is indeed now a "thing." Good health from a fellow Connecticut native.
DJ is talking about all the new restaurants and tap houses that opened up near by. Little do they know that 2 months later they’d all be under Covid lockdown for the next two years. RIP DJ you were the man. ✌️
Just discovered this guy today and Im very sad to have immediately learned he has passed. What a shame, this is really the kind of human being the world needs more of. How fortunate to have him immortalized in video! I love his style.
Competitive bbq man here. Daddy Jack is my favorite “nonbbq” cook. I’m coming to Connecticut just to meet Daddy Jack and eat some fine food. Love the channel! Keep it up!
Daddy Jack, I should know by now not to watch these videos late at night when my cupboards are bare. Great job as always. Lots of love from East Texas!
Big Jack you're an amazing chef I love your old school Italian and New Wave of cooking you're an amazing chef and God bless you brother I watch you all the time
Nothing better than our memories of our youth 2006, I too spent some time on a lake up in New Hampshire, a lot of memories around good food! All The Best To You and Canada, Jack
Chef instead of just making multiple cuts, chef just includes everyone in his videos :3 i never had a father chef, but i imagine you to be the father i wish i had so much
I know this isn't top end fine dinning, but I love watching this man cook. My wife and I want to get up to New London to try his restaurant, food looks good and hardy!
I sure miss this man. I never met him but we planned on checking out his restaurant. Sad and very disappointing we never will get that chance. Your videos will always put a smile on my face.
Just found your channel. What a gem! I just found out that you had passed away. Your channel will live on forever, and I subscribed before I found out that you had passed away because your food looks fantastic. Rest in peace Jack!
My kind of food. Worth visiting the US just for this. Nothing bad in the Sloppy Diablo Joe. The colour looks great. I bet is smells fantastic and I'm sure the taste is better than the smell. Awesome!
Just tried this with ground beef and it is SO good. If anyone's worried about the hot sauce, it doesn't really come out as "buffalo" sloppy joe - it just creates more flavor depth and a nice background zing. Beats the pants off of regular sloppy joes
Chef Daddy Jack, I made these for my poker buddies last week, and they were a huge hit! Such a flavor explosion in the mouth. I didn't have red pepper flakes, so I ground up some dry Thai red peppers, and it was amazing. I used two heads of fresh garlic, and omitted the green onion because I don't like them. But wow, what a dish! I used Swiss cheese instead of American cheese, and it worked just as well. I can't thank you enough. From someone who primarily eats Tuna and Salmon and chicken, this was amazing on all levels! Full disclosure, instead of all hot sausage, I used a pound of 85/15 ground beef, and a pound of Italian ground sausage. I got the hot from using the Thai chili peppers and Frank's red hot. But that's the beauty of your dishes. One can add or delete flavors from them and they still turn out delicious.
I love Smokey and the bandit. I love the scene when The great Jackie Gleason eating the Diablo sandwich. Burt Reynolds is great too! Now I know what a Diablo sandwich is! Thanks to my man big Jack!👍🏽
After warning us not to keep the spoon in the skillet, what does he do? Ha, ha, he can probably get away with it because he knows it's hot. Love watching this man cook.
I used to date a girl in kentville NS before i moved back home to newfoundland, lovely place! Nice to see a follow maritimer on your channel jack! East coast has some of the most friendliest people.
Nah that'll teach the little shit not to beg like a fucking bum! Lol i despise dogs that beg and when dogs beg me, they get absolutely nothing. If there are two dogs and one begs, one doesn't. The dog that doesnt beg will get some food right in front of the beggar dog lol.
Awesome video! I love how the passion of your love of food and cooking truly shows in every video, no what what you're creating. I'd like to see how you'd do chicken and dumplings! Great for this time of year. Cheers!

Tried this at home, but not quite as hot, and used beer instead of water. Turned out great - best sloppy joes I’ve ever had.

Frank's is great on chicken wings, but Diablo sandwich must use Tabasco or it is too mild.
God, I loved that film as a kid. “You want something?” “A hush-puppy daddy.” “We ain’t got no time for that crap!”
My buddies and I say that to each other all the time.
Well done for promoting the local businesses! 👍👍😁
Daddy jack was fantastic. We miss that guy. At least we still have him thru these videos
Love the classic stories
I love this channel reminds me of bak in the day even now singing the blues
These guys are awesome. My mom used to make sloppy joes and chipped beef on toast. Those were 2 dinner staples in my house growing up.
Made this and it was great! Used Sriracha instead of Franks Red Hot and opted for sharp cheddar...worth repeating!
You can never go wrong with a good sharp cheddar!!!!!!! 👍
Always good watching you cook I'm going to try this thanks
