As a veteran HLL player addressing new or first time players. If you take the time to learn the game and are willing to communicate, be prepared for the most insane, heart pounding, arse clenching, satisfying & hilarious moments you've ever experienced in gaming. If played properly, HLL is one of the most rewarding games ever
Hey can you tell me how many kills he got after the first game plz. I can't work out which symbol means kills...is it the X of bullets or the circle of the scope sight? Either way it's in the hundreds! The game length is long though, but that's amazing!
@@hoightb Those symbols represent the type of points, the numbers are points. The X would be kills. The amount of points tells me a bit over 28 kills maybe? Someone else might know better. He would have to press "Personal stats" to see exact kills
@@hoightbthat screen doesn’t contain kill stats, those are hidden in another tab since the game discourages K/D obsession (you can rack up 0 kills and be the most important soldier in the match still)
@@hoightb It's points for overall combat. I'm not certainly sure how these work, but they're not just for kills, i would assume its also for supressing them and damaging them, maybe even for taking hits, i'm not sure

Games like this really make me thankful that I have never had to experience any kind of combat. Like, imagine running for cover with these guys you have become good friends with, while under fire. You hear a round whizz overhead and think "THANK GOD THAT DIDN'T HIT ME" you make it to cover and turn around to catch your breath or something. Only to realise that your best friend is lying in the dirt without a head. Really hallowing to imagine.

Yeah it's pretty much the reason in World Wars you tend to not make friends in the military because any day you can lose them. If you don't get attatched to them and be somewhat distant it will get you through the war with your sanity. Making friends, will eventually eat a way at your mentality after watching so many die.
I was playing on FOY and was prone in a small crater with a teammate. We were pinned down by a tank that was shooting past us at other friendlies. The guy and I were talking in local voice and he started to crawl up to get a peak. I was watching him crawl as he talked and he was mid-sentence when all of a sudden his body exploded into pieces and the mic went silent. I'll never forget that moment.
When the whole squad got taken out with a shell it hits home

The artillery in this game is just incredibly spot on. Never seen it done so well before

@onexlifeonly132 what would be lame is having arty going off without the ability to neutralize it. Much like what happens on the offensive game mode. You can't touch the defenders arty until you take the 3rd objective.

One of the best multiplayer games ever made. Find yourself a good squad and get to work! It takes brains and braun! A good squad can change the course of the entire game.
Don't try it on console. It feels very unfinished and just shotty

I've stayed up all night playing this the past 2 weeks. Easily some of the funnest time gaming I've had in a bit now. When you hit that perfect headshot,or you coordinate a great play with a good squad,its just so fun. Please play more Jack!🙏

the funny moments and just chaos is so much better in post scriptum/squad 44. Playing hell let loose is like playing a content dry version of squad 44.

It’s been kinda rough recently with the game coming to Gamepass and a LOT of players not feeling comfortable in game chat yet, and I hope they come to love and appreciate how crazy the game gets
Very fun game. Just started playing when it came to game pass. Mic coordination is essential and makes for fantastic matches

Match quality has def been down the last couple of days with the influx of new players. This is not a bad thing. Eventually these people will fizzle out or become enthralled and learn the game.
Okay for all the new players joining HLL because of Game Pass, welcome!! Please please please use your microphones and be willing to listen to your squad leader's directions -- coordination and team play are how you win games in HLL.
I use it almost daily and can barely find anyone with mics to play with properly. It's insane how accessible they are for no one using them😵💫

@@jordanrock3494 people get worried about being picked on or told what to do all game like, ive listened to my squad before and you get some random idiot in charge and you end up defending the points missing all the game play, ive spent a whole game before not even having a shot at anyone because of a squad lead.... all depends who you have as squad lead and commander really as some people are awful at it or put you in really bad positions.... i dunno when i first started gaming i was so overly worried about using my voice just through self esteem just remember some people are waiting for you to speak a couple times before they warm up to you which is fair enough in my mind seeing you some random person... obviously its a better experience when using mics which i realize now but did take me a while to realize that...... if anything instead of saying about mics we need to teach them about garrisons... so many games have been lost due to people not knowing what they are doing with op and garry
@@WookiRahh I get what you mean but squad leaders themselves gets commanded to play on defense, and if you don't like it; there's always some extra squads open with the main command of going offensive. You have to treat this game like a tactical shooter and not like cod and you will eventually get the immersion people love with this game.
True, others play like it's a Battlefield game just going on random objectives and doing stuff solo. What they don't realize is that it's a milsim with coordination and team play in mind. A good squad can easily dominate a match.
I had one great match when almost all squads are in sync, and there actual battle formations and strategies. We had like an armor division of tankers accompanied by infantry squads that feels like your in some war movie with the amount of coordination they have. They form like a frontline to hold certain points and you see 3 heavy armor lined up side by side covering fire for infantries in the front and one friendly wheeled armor flanking enemy armor.
Then we had this awesome sniper spotter duo that absolutely wrecks and disrupts the enemy backline making it easier for us to push through. I could go on but it's just one of many matches I've been that I truly enjoyed.

When you get a fully functional and communicating squad, there's no experience quite like it.
Almost wholesome in a way. Just a bunch of randoms all working to have a good time together.
Oddly promotes a 2nd hand form of role play at times too thanks to the classes an their specialisations. Spending a game as medic without someone shouting "MEDIC!" is rare to say the least.
Literally had a Band of Brothers moment where me and another medic were asking if the other had morphine syrettes as we were so bogged down in a hard push. Such a good game.
Yes! Your original Hell Let Loose content were some of the first videos of yours I watched. Good to see it back.
The thing about this game that makes in top tier for me is the dedication that the map designers took to make the maps, they are literally a 1:1 scale resembling real locations of real battles from sattelite imagery, absolutely amazing.
Honestly the highlight of my winter is playing this game! So much fun to play as a sqaud

@@george5464 For example at 08:06, tracking the plane smoothly, then the entire following sequence where Jack takes the time to watch his teammates suppress the smoke like crazy. That's not random and Jack does it well, it makes the gameplay looks awesome.

yup, lev 170 here, gotta say the wave of new players is killing this game. However I was able to find a lev100+ server, and that was pretty dam intense!! my AVG of 60 kills wasnt close lol, but we got the W!

As long as you get a squad that communicates and a commander that.. commands.. hell let loose is by far the best gaming experience available in my opinion
If you get a server where the squad officer just leaves the roll empty and no one talks or no commander, it turns into a running simulator pretty quickly

Aside from building garrisons, after almost 2 years playing this amazing game I feel like there are still alot of players (even veterans) that don't pay attention when they hear a plane passing by. It's crucial to know when that's a plane dropping Supplies or even an AirHead. I can't tell you how many times my team has been saved from a hard flanking because I heard a plane dropping an AirHead on our backs.
Absolutely. Looking out for things dropping shouldn’t only be the recon squad’s job, anyone in command chat should be vocal when they notice supplies, airhead, garrison locations etc. My favorite strategy is to place myself in the red zone while my team caps the point (away from the point) and call in for supplies close to the next point for a blitzing garrison. Satisfying to see it work
@@sesh3508 excelent strategy, gives you the opportunity to attack their point while they are preparing the counter. But in my opinion, even better than asking for the Supply drop, just asking two volunteers from your Squad to take the Support Role and drop the supplies. This way, the enemy can't see the drop and gives you more of a surprise advantage.
@@DanielPerez-ly4qe That’s the way I used to do it (the support way) before the game pass madness. Now half the other team doesn’t even know what supplies look like so it hasn’t failed me yet 🤣 had a 30 minute game of warfare the other day because of it

Day of Defeat really had the potential to be th engine of realistic WW2 sims. But Steam/Gabe had other ambitions.great video and happy gaming everyone.
Tom and Jack are such a great duo. Comedically mostly 😂. The death sounds they make always crack me up
A few things to address from the video. Grenades do not damage any vehicles inthe game but will kill occupants in supply/transport trucks. Secondly with regards to recon teams only one recon team should work the perimeter of an advance and the other penetrate the enemies lines to remove garrisons and resource nodes and to disrupt enemy artillery.
Artillery explosions are so realistic. Best I have seen in any game without being scripted

I was once running across a field, and in front of me were 2 teammates catching up in life. Next thing I know they went silent, and their limbs flew all over the place because they got blasted by a bomb. My adrenaline spiked the fuck up , and I ran out of their like my life was really in danger. Sounds dramatic, but i've never played a war game that has been this immersive to me. 10/10 recommend getting used to it because it's a rewarding experience

Jack, if you haven't unlocked the trench gun for the assault class yet, I highly recommend it.
The explosion and particle effects look so good! The overall graphics aren't really cutting edge but the lighting and ambiance is killer. The snow map really reminded me of Band of brothers and the Bastogne episodes.. killer show btw you should watch
Only played a couple of times but Im addicted I've never had the same feeling from a game of just killing 3 people but winning the game and feeling accomplishmene.t each kill is so much more satisfying and a win in this game is a team effort not based of kills

I tried this game for the first time and i was in el alaheim and this bloke took 20 mins out of his day to teach me how tanks work and after 1 hour i raked up 165 kills while defending the last point we had and this guy said you must be a smurf LOOOOL also the next game i played i drove behind an ally tank and he was blasting the german anthem with hitler speaking in the background 😂😂😂😂😂

Last night i was playing and i was the only survivor behind enemy lines and command called up my team and told them tell CadillacJak we have a bombing run coming right for him he needs to evac immediately. The greatest experiences ive ever had gaming in the last 20 years is on this game.
For all the new players, As recon you should be attacking the enemy artillery positions, looking for garrisons and outposts and recon squad leaders should be relaying enemy armour positions to the commander and other squad leaders via the command radio. If you do this the enemy wouldn't stand a chance in moving across the battlefield easily.

Hell Let Loose is such an underrated game
Ever since installing this game a couple years ago, i can't put it down, i been hooked since then. My fave game. Best played using "in game comms' & not party chat, work with your squad & your team, listen carefully & follow orders, alert your team mates to any danger, adopt situational awareness & most importantly.....UNLEARN EVERYTHING YOU LEARNED FROM COD OR BF it will serve you & more importantly your team NO GOOD!
Downloaded this on the game pass for free it's a steep learning curve but am starting to enjoy it so much, communication is essential don't be afraid to get involved it's very beneficial an key to succeeding. Your a great sniper Jack, would love you on my squad one day!

Started about 3 weeks ago. I have learned the mechanics of the game and have been playing as squad leader in most matches now and doing great. It does have a bit of a learning curve but once you get past it? God this game is beautiful

I LOVE hell let loose. I’d been really excited to get it for Christmas because I’d been watching a ton of videos on how to play and funny moments. Now that I have it, I can really say it is one of my favorite games. The only thing I don’t like about it is when nobody in the match it using a mic, but other than that, it’s perfect.

You should give Squad 44 a look. I love Hell Let Loose, but Squad 44 takes it to a completely different level.
When you’re pinned down with bullets flying over your head with no idea where it’s coming from..it’s awesome. You have to take big risks in this game without knowing if you’ll make it out alive.
