On the Audi, you should check the camshaft adjuster valve. Sits in the camshaft right behind the actuater you just replaced. Also the camshaft "bridge" wich is bolted on provides the oil to that valve. If you take the bridge off you will see a little metal filter/screen that can be clogged up and not provide enough oil to the valve. It still could be a chain issue though.😅

13 years old. So it's old, they're very common in the UK, and R56 Cooper S's are notoriously problematic. They're at the state of being common but cheap, in a few years they'll start getting scarce and expensive. Same as 90s Japanese sports cars in the 2000s.
The amount of TFSI with blow-by from this era is well documented. Many Audis of the time, company cars, came with 1 litre of oil in the boot from day 1. Eventually, the bores end up with scores on them and the engine is for the bin. A lot of VAG group blocks were replaced under warranty.

@@stephentuckey9955 I'm aware it happened to a Sprinter I had. I just had a brainfart thinking you were talking about the Audi 😂
Great car the A4 SE used to sell these new. Good to here you have the cruise option, needed. Auction cars, you never know 🙈
Imagine being Alex's mate and he turns up with a Citroen Cactus, just for you... PMSL 😂😂
Citroën chassis are so much nicer than VAG ones, they are so much more comfortable than those audis.
@@joempoem478 lol
Coolant level on the Audi 😂 no one has told them how much oil those drink 😂💀
What happened to the Audi then?
I hope they still fix it (or give it to Top Dead Center, maybe as an apology for the damaged toolbox).
Almost surely timing chain.
At least it's not an engine out job, as the engine is mounted lenghtways
Most likely 500 quids worth of parts listed on ebah then weigh the rest in for another couple of hundred quid .
Would love to see more content from Josh like this!
that mini is lovely
i just want to give you guys a tip on that audi rattle. its quite common, and 80% of the time its the oil valve that sits in the camphaser, thats broken. take the Phaser solenoid out again, and with a little adapter you can just unscrew it, the timing wont jump. the phaser is not held on the cam by it.
if the issue then still exists it pretty much a guarantee that the phaser is dead
What about a legacy estate diesel?
Not ULEZ
@@beaugiles9939 what about petrol?
James needs a can of red bull, not a car.... I've never seen a man less excited about a new car than him.😂
When Alex turned round to reveal a Cactus, I actually gagged 🤮🤣🤣🤣
17:40 Seated heats are the most important option in the UK I've heard. 🤣👍
What the hell is going on in the UK that a 70k mile mini cooper S younger than 7 years is worth 3.5k?? Thats a 10k car at least in germany
It's 13 years old. And still feels a bit pricey for one in the UK.
61 plate, so 13 years old
@@4039byrne cheapest one in germany from 2011 is 6k, so still very good
13 years old. So it's old, they're very common in the UK, and R56 Cooper S's are notoriously problematic. They're at the state of being common but cheap, in a few years they'll start getting scarce and expensive. Same as 90s Japanese sports cars in the 2000s.
It's a 61 plate meaning 2011 and it's a common car that is known to break often. So people generally aren't interested
I'll never rely on an Audi ever again, I swear it's plastic on wheels 😭
I have a Audi A3 8p 1.9 TDI with 475k miles. Clutch is perfect and it's been remapped to get 65mpg. And not an inch of rust. Them PD engines do not die!!!!
Brittle, crunchy plastic that costs lots of money 👍
Even the timing chain guide is plastic crap
@@alexhinchcliffe7465He's more so talking about the newer stuff.
Can't wait for 3 years time when joshy sets up his own TH-cam lol
He already has. It's called Jooshy's garage.
