I like that you say this is a good review because of the lack of production quality basically. Also “hiding promotions” isn’t a thing that happens. People are on here to do a job and have ads they have to read so they can continue to do this as a job.
A Tacoma is and has been my dream car/truck for life. I find them to look very reliable and comfortable for being a truck. I am trying my hardest to afford it and thankfully God is on my side and I will do everything in my power for the ability to have this truck. Thank you for the review, I get even more motivation to get this truck
Love my 2021 Taco. Just needed a reliable well-made truck. Went with longer bed because I actually use it as a truck and it's nice to have the extra space back there. I didn't buy it for low gas mileage, we know with a truck it's not a gas sipper or a stop light champ. It rides good, handles well and easy to park for a truck.
Before I had the 2018 Tacoma 4x4 off road. Now I have a 2022 Tacoma sport. I recommend knowing what trim you want because one is better for off roading and the other is great for the city and everyday driving. Know the Steering wheel changes from off road and sport. TRD Off road tends to be more stiff when turning and TRD Sport is more smooth and comfortable when turning. Be sure to do your own research and just so you know you can’t go wrong with the Tacoma SR5. Toyota Tacoma are the best and fun truck.
My Honda 2008 hybrid broke down and I rented Tacoma without knowing what this truck about I’m not really knowledgeable about cars too and as soon as I started driving Tacoma I fell in love with that truck. So much comfort for casual drivers like me I would recommend this truck
I just bought a 2023 tacoma trd sport 4dr 6cyl. I had a 2020 extra cab 2.7 4cyl. Incredible tough truck. Unstoppable little tank. You think the 3.5 is doggie lmao. Try the 2.7 on the highway. It's like you threw a anchored out & dragging it. I've got 84 miles on the 2023 & it is incredible on hills compare to the might 2.7. both are outstanding. Paid 27,000 in 2020. 2023 now they gave me 20,000.00 toward my 2023 trd sport. Pays to keep it clean & scratch free... Enjoy your taco's everyone
For what it's worth, I drove my dad's Tacoma from cocoa beach to Chicago. 3 people and a dog, pulling a trailer. I had no real complaints about the trip at all. It pulled the trailer great, and it was very comfortable. The only thing I found annoying was trying to run cruise control pulling the trailer. It would shift gears more often than I thought was necessary. Otherwise a great smooth trip
I love how you edited plenty of beautiful shoots of the car's parts while talking about them, most of the other car channels keep showing boring shoots of them talking or trying to be funny. nice job keep it going
Yep. You hit most of the negatives. Slow as hell (pedal commander did help a lot but low end torque sucks). Back seat is small even for my kids. I would add a couple. 1) Rough suspension (even for a truck) when on road driving. 2) Odd seating position. Half sitting half laying. No vehicle is perfect but just some things to think about before dropping the $
I've had my 2020 SR5 4x4 since July 2020. I really love it. The Tacoma is what you want yours to be that's very true. Mine is not really modified much. I put 265/75R16 all trerian tires on, a tonneau cover, some seat covers and some stereo upgrades. I daily drive mine too. I use it to tow a pop up camper and carry bikes and camping gear. Coming from a Liberty CRD it's a little bit longer, longer hood but always a good size to park. Fuel economy is just ok. Not really worse than what I had before. Since I got a 2020 I got the safety sense stuff, Android auto and apple car play. Also it came with the power seat and power rear window, all the 2020 SR5 and up with a V6 engine get the power seat and window. Technology is more than enough for me. As far as passengers I used to have to take my mom and sister to the grocery store with me every week and it was ok for them in the double cab but it's a little tight maybe for a longer trip. I wouldn't suggest the access cab unless you never carry passengers. Mine has been extremely dependable. I really totally fell in love with the truck last summer when I took it on a week long camping trip to Ohiopyle.
You can also get a 35 gallon fuel tank if you ever need to replace the stock one, it expensive $2500 but it's made from heavy steel and a rock wont puncture it.
I disagree about the performance. My stock 2022 does 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and has a TON of power on the highway. You can see the 0-60 video on my channel for proof. It has no issue getting to it's 113mph top speed governor.
After having the Overland Torque Tune installed on my 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs installed, the automatic transmission Stopped “hunting” for gears, the torque kicks in at 2K RPMs and the horsepower has increased from 278 to 302 and I’m getting 1-2mpg Better fuel efficiency.
@@JordanMcKeithan It’s worth Every Penny. Since I’ve had my Taco done, a friend of mine who has a 23 had his done and another friend is going to get his 19 done. I really recommend the OTT.

I bought my 2022 Tacoma extended cab this past May. I understand your love for your truck, because I absolutely love mine. I’ve added some round step bars, and have other accessories ideas coming soon. Apple CarPlay feature is great, I wish that was on my wife’s ‘12 Highlander. Also thanks for explaining the ECT button, had not read up on it yet. Your Tacoma looks awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I tuned my truck onto OVTUNE orange virus and if you think you loved the truck right now. You'll love it even more after the tune 1000 percent. Way better response, better mpg. Totally recommend it. First mod you should do in my opinion. Dope taco!

I bought a new ‘14 double cab pre-runner with the 2.7L 4 cyl with 4 speed transmission. Only have 60k miles and I love the truck. Gets great fuel mileage and is super useful/comfortable. Where people go wrong is adding 4wd and a v6. Defeats the purpose of this truck imo. You should just buy a full-size v8 instead of a higher end tacoma
Jordan, let's do a 5 year review. I'm at 8 with my '15 and I can give you plenty of experience that may or may not match up with you. I'm in Toledo, OH.
Dumb question, but I don't really know about this. I have a three in life and 33's also. How does regearing work and who would do it, any shop or is it a specialty? Thanks.
I’ve got a ‘16 TRD and the infotainment was wonky for a while for me. Newest updates helped but if you need to you don’t have to restart the truck. Just restart the audio system by holding the volume and tune buttons in at the same time. It restarts the media system. Nice truck tho and honest review. I agree with everything and couldn’t have said it better
Tacoma has always been my dream truck and I got my 2019 sr5 today with like 128k miles it’s not the best but I always wanted one It was either that or a 22 civic si with 70k miles , it was so clean but the taco was so clean
Hey I really appreciate your review. I actually prefer the basic tech in older vehicles. More and more tech means more complexity and distraction. When I get in my wife's new Highlander I feel like I'm in the cockpit of some spaceship! She barely uses the backup camera and parking sensors 😁 I love my 2010 Rav V6. I did put an aftermarket radio to get Bluetooth, but aside from heated mirrors that's all I care about. I understand alot of the modern tech is safety related though and I appreciate auto-dimming headlights and adaptive cruise control. I plan on getting that generation Taco as my weekender toy.
Correct. The infotainment system in my Silverado looks pedestrian but it works great and doesn’t distract. The infotainment screen on the new Tundra is ridiculous. Too large and hard to use according to new owners.
I special ordered my 21 Sport Access Cab in Army Green and received it in January. The only issue I've had is the wiper blades themselves suck. Besides that great truck.
If I’m not in need of a bed, should I just get the Rav4 with a hitch?? Anything I’d pull would be handyman shit around the house. The mpg is just not attractive for a high priced truck that just looks sexy. I have no clue what I want or need but the only flaw with the Tacoma is the mpg. I’m looking at all the Toyota options
Your Taco looks dope. I recently picked up a 2020 and love it. Only complaint I have with mine is it sounds like a diesel at idol which i’ve been told is normal (atkinson cycle)??
The only issue for me and impeding me from purchasing a Tacoma truck is towing capacity. I wish Toyota offers a Diesel option like they do with its cousin( Hilux) in the rest of the world.
@@aberba From my personal experience, I towed 8000 lbs portable generator, trailer included, in the mines in Peru. The 3.0 inercooler diesel was enough, not super fast but enough to move them at adequate speed. And that’s all an regular person need in reality, unless you have a business and need more power diesel.
@@jordez1 in my country, they offer 2.4 and 2.8 Hilux. I wonder if it's capable of towing construction equipment like a mixer and trailer. Also VS Tacoma
@@aberba i believe Toyota diesel engines are very efficient and durable and are capable of towing/hauling anything below 8 thousand pounds. Tacoma on the other side are more for your bikes, beds, refrigerator type of load. Kind of femenino pick up truck. Here I the US i have a 2021 F350 diesel for heavy duty stuff.
While in Utah earlier this year, I had a 2020 Tacoma SR5 rental. Drove it 1100 miles over 3 days while I was there so I feel like I can give a solid review. Pros: There’s so much great stuff to say about this truck, personally I like it much better than the Colorado. Handles easily, smooth and quiet ride, easy controls, great stereo, adaptive cruise control worked great, plenty of power for a regular daily driver. Driving around Salt Lake City I averaged 18.1 mpg and on highways when I drove down to Arches, I averaged 23.9 mpg. Didn’t get to tow or go off-road since it was a rental so I can’t speak on that stuff. Plenty of cup holders and storage too. Easy to drive, easy to park, and easy to use. Not much more I can ask for. Cons: The Apple car play was very finicky and would seemingly only work half the time. The other times it was just regular Bluetooth connection which worked flawlessly. Perhaps it was just user error as it was my first time trying to use it, but we both had issues. I thought it was extremely uncomfortable as the driver, but my wife thought it was very comfortable as the passenger. The fabric on the seats felt cheap and there was minimal cushion. The lane departure assistance system was horrible and I had to turn it off within the first hour of driving. Overall, I would definitely recommend this truck to anyone looking for a mid size pickup. Just make sure you buy a seat cushion afterwards 😂
Hey! I have a question, so I want to trade in my car and buy a tacoma trd off road. This would be my first time having a pick up truck and I will be using the truck every day. My question is, how do you put your groceries? Do you put it inside or in the trunk? Sorry I really don’t have an idea. Thanks
Consider a tonu cover or a canopy. I got one and wouldn't be with out it now. Also you at least want an extended cab truck so that's also where you put stuff
I don’t think I’ll add the extra features I need the best gas mileage I can get lol. I’m stuck between a 2021 Camry XSE and 2021 Tacoma trd. Pretty much at this point I’m leaning towards the Camry. I don’t have use for a truck. Plus I’ll save gas. Texas gas prices are at 3.30 as of today.
I would love a 1st or second gen Tacoma but man they are expensive asf… so I am like well if I can find a 3rd gen for a good price might as well get it. I’m looking at a Trd off-road, I thought about the Trd pro but the 10g extra for the badges nah I don’t think so plus I want a sunroof and the off road are the only one that have it. But I’m currently in a debate between a 4Runner, rav4 xse or limited , jeep Cherokee trail hawk I’ll get the truck second after the suv. But what do you think what would you get mainly the rav4 was for saving gas and camping but the 4 runner is so capable I don’t plan to do off-road like crazy soft road yes I don’t got all that money to do off roading and brake things.
I’ve had a 2006 4Runner and a 99 Jeep grand Cherokee before my Tacoma. Both great vehicles for sure. I’d still have the 4Runner had it not been totaled in a car accident. Absolutely loved that car. Very capable off-road and spacious. If you can find an older 4Runner like 06-11 you might be able to get them for a good deal! The newer 4Runners are more expensive than the Tacomas I think since it’s an suv vs a truck.
I did lift it but my setup has changed since this video. In this video, I had 2in lift in the front with Bilstein 5100s and a 1 in block in the rear. Tires were 285/70/17. Now I’m sitting a little taller at 3.5 in lift and 305/70/17 tires.
It depends on what state you live in but like 40k-55k brand new I think before the pandemic. Maybe like 30k-35k used for 2016+ models. I could be wrong though.
I took the hood scoop off, unscrewed the bottom plastic part and mounted it inside the plastic bottom part using the hardware that came with the light bar
@@JordanMcKeithan thank you. I like that a lot. Was a big fan of cement grey, but it’s no longer offered in the sport from what i can see. Yours looks great

Tacoma has always been my dream truck and I got my 2019 sr5 today with like 128k miles it’s not the best but I always wanted one It was either that or a 22 civic si with 70k miles , it was so clean but the taco was so clean
Why the blacked out taillights? They are very hard to see in low visibility conditions.
Want to get that wheel and lug nut setup for my trd OR. Are those chrome or stainless lugs?
Matte black stainless steel I believe.
It is my dream truck as well always look back as I'm going into store
That's exactly how I feel with my 21' Tacoma TRD PRO! Enjoy your Taco!
Can you please make a Video that elaborates the upgrades.
Already done! Check the channel!
I love the front bumper
The 16,17 and some of the 18s were kinda doggish. The 16s had a LOT of problems.
I’m glad that I waited until 23 to buy mine
just bought a 2019 taco off road and it was pretty pricy but i had to make that jump cause i know it will benefit me in the future
I special ordered my 21 Sport Access Cab in Army Green and received it in January.
The only issue I've had is the wiper blades themselves suck. Besides that great truck.
What's the bumper type, where'd you get it please?,
It’s to Body Armor 4x4 hiline series front bumper. Got it on Amazon.
Rotational weight will rob you of HP/TQ much more than static weight. I wonder how the truck would feel with stock tires on it.
What kind of front bumper guard is that!?!?!? Super slick lookin
How is it pulling a trailer
If I’m not in need of a bed, should I just get the Rav4 with a hitch?? Anything I’d pull would be handyman shit around the house. The mpg is just not attractive for a high priced truck that just looks sexy. I have no clue what I want or need but the only flaw with the Tacoma is the mpg. I’m looking at all the Toyota options
4Runner is a great option too if you don’t need the bed and the mileage is a little better I think.
Thank you for mentioning the Technology and Seat updates for 2020 and up. Was good to know.
The seat Jackers really make the seats more comfortable & I have a per drivers seat
Can you add a link to the front bumper? It looks like a perfect fit for the Tacoma. A review would be nice as well. But the bumper looks sweet.
Hey. What kind of cover you got in the box
Can I have a link to where you purchased the front bumper. Is there any cutting in order to fit the bumper. Thank you
Yes, some plastic cutting is required! Body Armor 4X4 Fits 2016-2020 Tacoma HiLine Series Front Bumper TC-19339 a.co/d/2MH1NkP
Please get a tune, OTT is great. My truck is quick and fast with a lot of power.
What front bumper do you have on your taco ?
I love that front bumper ! Where can I get one ?
It’s the body armor 4x4 hiline series front bumper. I got mine on Amazon but they’re for sale on tacomabeast.com too.
@@JordanMcKeithan Thanks so much for the info ! I appreciate it 🙏
Really nice looking Tacoma you have .
Is that grill after market too? I thought those are only on the pro models. Did Toyota install that? How much was it to change to that?
It’s a factory trd pro grill not sure how much they charged for it. It was installed when I bought the truck.
I get 8 mpg with my 2014 tundra I think I’ll take 20 when I get a taco
Consider getting a KD Max tune. I have way more shit on mine and I can still eek out 18 to 20 mpg with better drivability and acceleration.
Nice dude! Yeah I’ll have to look into now for sure because with my new lift and tires my mpg is out the window lol 😂
How tall are you? Struggling to find a good video with height taking into account for midsize trucks
@@donovansantana9977 I’m 6’2
Your Taco looks dope. I recently picked up a 2020 and love it. Only complaint I have with mine is it sounds like a diesel at idol which i’ve been told is normal (atkinson cycle)??
What paint code is this?
No idea man. I just know it’s Toyotas “Silver Sky Metallic”
@@JordanMcKeithan That's what I meant sorry, thanks alot man!
The only issue for me and impeding me from purchasing a Tacoma truck is towing capacity. I wish Toyota offers a Diesel option like they do with its cousin( Hilux) in the rest of the world.
Does diesel tow better? Also what do you think about towing with Hilux?
@@jordez1 f350 is the dream. We'll get there
Where did you get those headlights??
They’re the Alpha Rex Lux Series LED Headlights from Tacomabeast.com
@@JordanMcKeithan thanks
Is this a 2018, 2019 or 2020? My dream truck too!
2017!
Do the visors over the windows help with highway noise ?
Maybe with wind noise a little. But not so much highway road noise honestly. It’s more for rain and being able to crack my windows if it’s raining.
I have a 23 off-road it has plenty of power and that’s coming from a Chevy V8 so I don’t really understand all the comments about the power
You have a list where you got the after market parts?
V6? Would help if that was in the title
Make sure to update your infotainment software. It glitches out sometimes when using, which becomes annoying to use at times.
That lane departure issue is exactly why I feel most of the time that less is more.
Ay bro I doubt you’ll see this now since this is older but what bumper is that?
Yo! It’s the body armor 4x4 hiline series front bumper!
@@JordanMcKeithan you’re the man thanks 🙏🏾
Hey! I have a question, so I want to trade in my car and buy a tacoma trd off road. This would be my first time having a pick up truck and I will be using the truck every day. My question is, how do you put your groceries? Do you put it inside or in the trunk? Sorry I really don’t have an idea. Thanks
I usually put mine in the back seat. Unless if you have a bed-cover you could put it in the bed of the truck.
$4 :-(
I would love a 1st or second gen Tacoma but man they are expensive asf… so I am like well if I can find a 3rd gen for a good price might as well get it.
How many people fit in the truck !!???
5 people

Great review man! I'm a moto-vlogger, and considering getting a TACO. Great video man, keep it up!
Did you lift the truck? If so what kind of lift and tires did you pick?
I did lift it but my setup has changed since this video. In this video, I had 2in lift in the front with Bilstein 5100s and a 1 in block in the rear. Tires were 285/70/17. Now I’m sitting a little taller at 3.5 in lift and 305/70/17 tires.
Hi, can you recommend a page for accessories por the Tacoma.
What bumper is that?
Who makes the bumper?
Is it a good first truck
Can anyone tell me the prices of these before the pandemic? Been wanting to buy one but don't wanna overpay. thanks
It depends on what state you live in but like 40k-55k brand new I think before the pandemic. Maybe like 30k-35k used for 2016+ models. I could be wrong though.
Love the video man. Congrats on the dream truck. Thinking about building out a trail edition myself.
How did you get the lightbar inside the hood scoop
I took the hood scoop off, unscrewed the bottom plastic part and mounted it inside the plastic bottom part using the hardware that came with the light bar
Hey, which color is this?
Silver Sky Metallic
@@JordanMcKeithan thank you. I like that a lot. Was a big fan of cement grey, but it’s no longer offered in the sport from what i can see. Yours looks great
Too me, any tech is awesome, I switching from a 2008 Mazda 3, and who bought it cheaper tf out, bout the base model with crank windows, and manual locks, so anything is an upgrade
LOVE THAT BUMPER! WHO MAKES THAT BAD BOY?
Thanks brotha! Body Armor 4x4 Hiline Series front bumper.
Find a nice 1988 to 2002 model with the sturdy metal fuel tank. These post 2004 models have plastic and I would not go off road in one.
They are impact resistant and don't rust. Also covered by skid plates on some models. Are you purposely trying to answer every question wrong or you honestly just have no clue?
How did you get the TRD Pro Toyota logo on the grille ? Or does it come with some versions of the TRD sport ?
It’s aftermarket. You can either buy an oem one like mine or buy a replica one but they’re virtually identical.
The rims and bed cover got me
What lift is that??
bro how much you make because if you make less than 80k a year i’m having a hard time rationalizing this purchase … 8-900 a month with 20 percent down just seems too damn high for what the truck offers
I put down more than 20% so my monthly payment would be significantly less. That’s how we did it.
@M D my brother in Christ that is bad financial advise
Nice review. Thanks.
I like how these look with Tacoma on the front not the 2022 with the Toyota symbol
Love my "21 Trail Edition 🌮 in Cement Gray.
