    I like that you show us how to use the government site. A couple other TH-camrs want you to do it through their websites, which I see now mirror the government one. Thanks for your straightforwardness.

    Something wrong with Health care, when there are so many Utubers explaining over and over how simple Medicare is to understand?

    Thank u for the info. I will be 65 soon. My plan is to sign up for Part A and Part B. Since I am going the Medicare advantage route, do I still need to sign up for Part D too or not, since it’s included n the advantage plan. Thanks!

      If you have drug coverage included in your Advantage plan , you do not need to enroll in a strand alone Part D drug plan. In fact, doing so would cancel out your Medicare Advantage plan enrollment. Hope this helps!

    If you change drug plans during open enrollment are there health questions?

    • @AbtInsuranceAgency

      No, never health questions to change your Part D drug plan.

    Are there any plan D providers that do no impost step therapy on any of the drugs/medicines in their formularies? You provide great information, by the way! I don't take any meds at the moment, but am concerned if I get cancer if I will be stuck with using older drugs when new ones are better.

    • @AbtInsuranceAgency
      @AbtInsuranceAgency  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tom, most Part D companies DO require step therapy on certain medications, but that can vary based on the Part D Plan and the medication in question.
      These Part D plans can change from year to year, so we recommend actively shopping these plans annually, and as your needs change.
      Also most non-self administered cancer drugs are covered by Part B, not Part D. I hope this helps!

    Can someone switch from a Medicare Advantage Plan to a Medicare Supplement Plan during Oct 13th - Dec 7th without any issues? And does the Medicare Supplement Plans cover Part D or drug coverage?

    • @AbtInsuranceAgency
      @AbtInsuranceAgency  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mary Tucker yes you can switch to a Supplement Plan during Oct 15 - Dec 7 but it most states you may need to pass through medical underwriting to qualify. Part D coverage will be separate. I would be happy to give you some more information specific to your situation! 888-465-9728 or email stephanie@abtinsuranceagency.com.

      Most Medicare Advantage Plans include Part D Rx benefits, and in most cases you cannot enroll in a stand alone Part D Rx Plan and also have a Medicare Advantage Plan at the same time. This Plan Finder tool allows you to search for Part D Plan Rx costs and compare those to estimated Rx costs on your Medicare Advantage Plan. You can view estimated 2021 costs starting in October!

    I am under Group Plan therefore only get Part A until Group Plan out then will apply for Part B under Special Enrollment Period. My question is do I have apply for Part D now, if I wait until I apply for Part B, Is any penalty apply? Thank you for all great informative videos.:-)

    • @AbtInsuranceAgency
      @AbtInsuranceAgency  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a common question! As long as your current group plan is considered “creditable” for Medicare Part D, you can delay Part D enrollment without penalty. Your group plan has to alert you if your coverage is NOT creditable. I hope this helps!

    Stephanie, if I sign up for a new Part D provider for 2021 online, is my old provider automatically notified or do I need to contact them? Really enjoy your videos!

    • @AbtInsuranceAgency
      @AbtInsuranceAgency  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Your old Part D provider is automatically notified to cancel your Part D Plan effective Jan 1st. Medicare only gives you one "slot" for Part D, so a new enrollment automatically cancels out the old one. I hope that helps!

      @@rb5061 There is no advantage to having your Part D Rx plan with the same carrier as your Medigap plan. I would base the decision on overall costs for the year, including premiums and copays. I hope this helps!

    How would you have a Medicare number if you are new to Medicare?

    • @AbtInsuranceAgency
      @AbtInsuranceAgency  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tom Scharf after you apply for Medicare you can see your Medicare number via your ssa.gov account. It typically takes about 2 weeks after your enrollment to show there. That’s the same Medicare # you’ll use when enrolling in Part D. I hope this helps!

    I noticed that a drug I use would cost less using a third party coupon instead of purchasing through the part D plan. Can a person utilize this or does it need to be through the part d plan?

    • @vapeking466
      @vapeking466 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can purchase drugs with a coupon or discount instead of insurance. I find some meds less with a discount app vs my medicare plan so I just tell them to use the discount instead of insurance at the pharmacy.

    So many videos about Federal welfare programs, Social Security and Medicare. No need for seniors to be so greedy. These programs are paid for by the taxes young workers pay and the elderly should be grateful, not bitter. Have a nice day!!

    • @Kathleen67.

      You are wrong. We paid for decades for our S.S. and Medicare "and" we still have to pay on average $350 per month for Medicare even if we don’t use it "and" if we have to go to the hospital we have to pay almost $3000 for I believe it's every 3 months. So, Medicare is certainly not free even though that is what we thought for years. S.S. is not welfare; we paid for it. We built this country, you should be grateful and stand for the rights and freedoms that are being torn down by your generation. I agree with you about welfare.
