Great stuff man. I completely understand the feeling of worrying that someone will stop, thinking you're doing something bad. I like to film dust devil's out in the fields of Northwest Indiana in the late spring and often park just off the side of the road with my camera and tripod. I'm sure it looks kind of sketchy, but the farmers are always entertained when I tell them what I'm doing and tell me "good luck", and are on their way. Keep up the good work bro. Your commentary is an education in hydrology, swampland ecology and weathering; appreciated. Plus, I also love playing with whirlpools when I find them in the wild. Happy New Year to you and yours, post 10. Stay safe.
A tip from someone raised in a rural area with numerous family-owned lakes: That frozen surface covering the entire body of water does slow down the draining. Even when the drain's not clogged, heavy precipitation on top of a frozen surface can cause area flooding. If you can find a way to break open 2 or 3 large holes in the surface, about 20 feet or so from the drain, that will usually make a huge difference in the flow rate. Like in the case of this video: if he could have tossed a few of the heavier stones out far enough and managed to break the surface in multiple places, that might have made a huge difference.
Ja I was thinking like an unbalance in pressure so it will try to suck water out but because air is struggling to get in through another spot, the water will be significantly slower down. Sort of like emptying a coke bottle by turning it completely upside down. Then air and water which will move in opposite directions must use the same space. You make an air hole somewhere else then you get a good flow and movement of both air and water.
I know this might seem selfish, but please don't change the way you do things. It's such a pleasure to watch and a great way to unwind for me. 👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I love how you now use Pic-in-Pic and time-lapse. And watching those whirlpools is almost as hypnotizing as watching a camp fire. The wonders of nature and it's fascinating chaos. I could have watched the fight between the two competing ones at the end of this video for hours. Kudos, and may you never stop! Lovely whirlpool! Also from what I gathered about the smell, it probably had to do with anaerobic bacteria breaking down the dead material under all that ice. If there was more oxygen for the aerobic bacteria to eat, they could break the material down with very little smell; but since the swamp was stagnant and frozen over anaerobic breakdown occurred instead.

we did something similar when we were kids , spent hours in the local streams , we were outside when ever home from school , we learnt all sorts , how to be safe around water , how to hide when bigger kids came looking . We would get home wet but thinking it was normal , a great childhood .
Watching the clog exit the culvert at the start of the surge was so cool. Also proves what you have said many times is right. Water logged debris sinks immediately and doesn't float down stream to the next culvert. You are right too about how great it sounds when the ice cracks when the water is drained and nothing is supporting the ice. Great video.
It makes me so happy to watch this man do this because he loves it and it helps so much more then people would even realize, very noble and honourable of you sir! Thanks for bringing joy to so many👏
I have said this before, but it is worth repeating, I had no idea that watching a young man unclog drainage and culvert pipes could be so interesting and somehow so soothing. Your work is to be commended and is much appreciated!
Your awesome, the state, county, city, or town needs to pay you for what you do for the community . You are doing a job the public workers should be doing. Keep up with the great work.
Ok, I'll admit to being a child and genuinely laughing out loud @32:02 given the conversation preceding it. That was a spectacular clearance, it's a pity you didn't get to see the pond level drop for the volume of water you got moving.
Lol the fart sound 🤣 Thank you to you both for all you do. Living in northern Michigan I understand these kinds of issues even more during or after the winter or rain storms. Can't wait to see more. Happy New year's!
Next time you have something like that green post in the water next to the culvert, you should tie an orange, hi vis ribbon at the water level you start at. That way we could really see the water level drop and track the progress, even time it.
The original issues could have been the internal clog in the pipe that cleared at 2.18, and the board on the grid at 3.04 After that it was draining really fast.
Oh i saw that long string of debris coming out of the otherside just as the rush of water came flowing out. I had to laugh. "Poor beavers" had worked so hard to stop the flow
I literally could watch that whirlpool in real time for hours. Thanks for the long uninterrupted cuts just letting things happen. Here's to a great 2022 and hopefully a million subs, you deserve it Post!
I love watching you do this. I'm 66 living in Arizona. I grew up in Pennsylvania and Michigan and I loved playing in water. So this is so enjoyable for me.
Post and Ghost, enjoyed the videos. Hubby watches them too now. I love the sounds of the ice. It was the soundtrack of my winters growing up on the river. Have fun, stay safe and keep warm.
Your enthusiasm and passion for what you do, is awesome! I love it! And the way you are so informative and knowledgeable is great too! We need more people like you over here in the UK, our drains are dreadful! I live on the bottom of a hill, above a marsh, and when it rains my road is like a waterfall!!! Love your videos, keep up the good work xxx
Hydro-physics is cool. My son's grandfather was a hydro-physicist here in Norway. He was so interesting to listen to. Whirlpools, or 'malstrøm' as they are called here are amazing. Some of the fjords a bit further north from where I live have some incredibly forceful ones.
The joy that is expressed in your voice as the whirlpool started and other events happened, brings smiles to my face and many, many others I have no doubt. You should introduce Ghostie. We would love to meet them.
So much for the theory that whirlpools turn in different directions in the northern and southern hemispheres. Here are two side-by-side turning in different directions. Great scientific display Post!
@@skilllessbeast7416 They have to get really, really big before the Coriolis force becomes strong enough to force their direction. Storm systems, yes. Whirlpools, not so much.
@@catprog Imagine taking a globe and drawing a line from the equator to the north. Now spin the globe and what happens to that line? It curves. If you do the same thing and draw the line to the south it curves the opposite direction. This is what defines the direction large storm systems spin. I'm not sure if toilets flush in different directions depending on the hemisphere, or if toilets even always flush in the same direction in a given house for example.
I don't have the words to explain, but these are some of the most exciting and fulfilling videos I've ever seen. Thanks so much for doing this. :) [edit: added the word "most"]

'I wish you could smell this' and my answer was 'not just this minute please, I'm cooking lunch (lamb's stew)'.. Water, culvert blocked, ice, road, rake, beavers and whirl pools and who is happy as a lark - Post and Ghost 10. Great video.
Who needs to win the lottery when you have more excitement watching Post 10!! I love how you do this singlehandedly and include your audience and say "we did it"!! Lol I definitely am always cheering you on and pray for whirlpools!! 💕👏👏👏💕 You're AMAZING!!
At around 23:11 after clearing away some ice, there starts a 2nd whirlpool that starts churning but, doesn't get good until about 41:19 .. A piece of ice prevents it from working, but he helps it along at 46:20 by removing it.

Absolutely gorgeous footage! Is there any way you can upload a 4k version? Even if your original footage is 1080, if you converted to something higher, the youtube compression will have less of a blurring effect on the fast-moving bits like the vortex. I would LOVE to be able to see your raw footage at full bitrate.
Yeah compression at some step of the editing & uploading (Compression on the video export can exacerbate TH-cam's compression artifacts) is really hitting this one hard
This video has it all! Traditional Post10 clog clearing? Check. Post10 getting excited by the flow? Check. Whirlpools? Check. Busting up a beaver dam? Check. Draining the swamp? Check. and during those moments when Post10 gets quiet and lets us just hear the sounds of the water and ice? Post10's newest addition to the channel, Post10 ASMR!

we did something similar when we were kids , spent hours in the local streams , we were
outside when ever home from school , we learnt all sorts , how to be safe around water ,
how to hide when bigger kids came looking . We would get home wet but thinking it was
normal , a great childhood .
*PARP*
"That was a real fart, by the way.."
You sounded pretty proud of that 🤣🤣🤣
30 years old and I still find farts funny 🤦♀️ the shame! 🤣
I had to scroll way too far down into the comments to see anyone mention this. Fantastic content.
@@gregmassek 😄 I'm glad I'm not alone!
I sat up and was like, "was that...... did he just......." at which point he confirmed that, indeed, he had. Lmao!
I wish you had a sign to hang on that pole that reads “ Post 10 was here!! you’re welcome. Great job 👏🏾
Lol the fart sound 🤣 Thank you to you both for all you do. Living in northern Michigan I understand these kinds of issues even more during or after the winter or rain storms. Can't wait to see more. Happy New year's!
I really like your using 2 cameras for this, great to see in "real time" what is happening on both sides of the culvert
Next time you have something like that green post in the water next to the culvert, you should tie an orange, hi vis ribbon at the water level you start at. That way we could really see the water level drop and track the progress, even time it.
The original issues could have been the internal clog in the pipe that cleared at 2.18, and the board on the grid at 3.04
After that it was draining really fast.
@The Accidental Viking - Oh, so *that's* what 'malstrøm' means! Thank you! And also for adding to my ongoing 'Norway' synchronicity! 😊👍
So are you talking about his in-law, or were you just saying your dad in a weird way?
@@CrispyChicken38 My son's PATERNAL grandfather. there, does that help?
You have one of the coolest TH-cam names I’ve seen😎🤣
Thank you for emphasizing the safety issues. ❤️
That looked like a giant version of a sewer line unclogging you typically see from Drain Addict. Excellent!
I was thinking the same thing! I watch drain addict also!
Drain Addict is great to watch! I also love watching him 😁👍🏾
From the south here and I can attest to the smell of a swamp that's been disturbed. Keep up the great work
The joy that is expressed in your voice as the whirlpool started and other events happened, brings smiles to my face and many, many others I have no doubt. You should introduce Ghostie. We would love to meet them.
"I knew I could do it, wow!!!" Never smiled so much in my life! Good job!!!
So much for the theory that whirlpools turn in different directions in the northern and southern hemispheres. Here are two side-by-side turning in different directions. Great scientific display Post!
They turn in different directions, because the flow at the edges goes in the same direction.
@@skilllessbeast7416 They have to get really, really big before the Coriolis force becomes strong enough to force their direction. Storm systems, yes. Whirlpools, not so much.
@@KaiHenningsen That makes sense.. Are toilets effected though? What makes my toilet consistently flush in the same direction?
@@palettetools6461 The situation with the toilet is almost exactly the same every time. Of course it is going to go in the same direction.
As I told in another vídeo of this channel, this man makes all diference with a simple tool and good will. God bless you and your family!!!
"I wish you guys could just smell how really bad this really is!" Lol.. no thank you, sir. We'll take your word for it 😂 good job!
And then he farted for real. 🤣
To be fair, we know what farts smell like
@Royetta's Life - Pretty much my own thoughts, too! "Nah, thank you! I'm good!" 😄
@@mightyV444 o
My exact thoughts. XD
I don't have the words to explain, but these are some of the most exciting and fulfilling videos I've ever seen. Thanks so much for doing this. :) [edit: added the word "most"]
These video's are good for eating food to.

@@BrewedIn62 Culverts are how we time-travel. And also, the video was released early for the people who support Post10 on Patreon.
If this is the most exciting thing you've ever seen, you seriously need to get out more. Watch The Punisher, that's pretty exciting. Many things more exciting than water draining man...
@@varlunmulland3992 like paint drying thats pretty fun
I'm loving the two angles. It's great to see the impact. That first clog that came out was so satisfying
I can imagine someone at the DOT watching this and calling his boss telling him that Post took care of the culvert.
'I knew I could do it! Wow!!'
I just love this guy!!
One man. One rake. One cleared culvert. (And Ghost 10, too 🙂)
At around 23:11 after clearing away some ice, there starts a 2nd whirlpool that starts churning but, doesn't get good until about 41:19 .. A piece of ice prevents it from working, but he helps it along at 46:20 by removing it.
Nearly 11 pm here in Austria, a post 10 video showing up and everythings fine immediately. Thank you. Take care man
This is the most satisfying video, Trolls can roll we have zero time for them. This video and this young gentleman give me hope for the future of this nation. Who ever was your mentor I salute them. Your mom or dad grand parents did a great job working with you. Such good ethics. Thank you.
I am glad to see the whirlpools are back again! Always love to see those
I cannot believe how satisfying this is to watch. I guess I have a new addiction.
I'm a simple man. I see post 10 puts a new video up, I take a bathroom break.
I know the smell you are referring to. I worked at a wastewater facility for years. Both a concrete facility and a constructed wetlands. Then in a wastewater laboratory testing the effluent from both plants. Loved the work, sort of like you! ❤
Loved this as a short, but it was so much more as a long. Great job you two. Really nice to see all you share. Thank you.
Don't let anyone criticize the work you're doing. If anything, the county owes you a debt of gratitude for the valuable consulting work you're providing them for free with these videos. If they were smart they'd be watching these videos and paying attention.
In a respectful way you got some big balls to go into something unknown and just unclogged it , Congrats my friend
You are literally draining the swamp, I love it.
500k and beyond ... warp speed for getting new subs 😄
Many channels showing unclogs and such but this is the greatest.
Unclog and prosper post & ghost !
The new merch could be : Clograker - the toughest rakes on the market 😄
From whirlpools to fart smells...you gotta love it!! Thanks for all you and Ghost10 do.
Absolutely fantastic video, just love these so much. Been watching for a couple of years now and now you have over 500k subscribers. Well done Post & Ghost xx
We need more people like you too do what you do. If the county or city workers really cared, they would be out there doing what you do. But they don't care.
I don't know why but love watching the water move on the other side when you open the culvert. Great job
The DeltaP is a serious hidden threat, it always crosses my mind when I watch your unclogging videos.
"I wish you guys could just smell how bad this really is!" 😆🤣 I'll take your word for it!
You’ve got a great blog here. Brings back memories of stuff I did similar to this when I was a kid. Keep up the good work. Don’t let the naysayers get you down.
This video was interesting. Thank you for uploading!
I appreciate that you mentioned the danger of going in there. I suspected that. I reckon I'm beginning to understand having watched quite a few uncloggings by now! 🙂
Post 10 you are amazing guy, your love for water and drainage and the land around a collvets.. Iv watched you for years now and never have I noticed your mood changed so fast. Once you spoke with that guy it was like he scared you. If I’m wrong I’m very sorry but you have many followers and we all love your passion for what you do.. keep being you
"That was a real fart, by the way..." I almost died 😄... Love your vids.
ok that was super cool. I love how enthusiastic you get about clearing drains but equally important i love how enthralled i get by your what should be but isn't a boring video about unblocking a drain. keep up you're awesome work bro!
lol that was a fun one . that was a real fart broke me up lol . hope you and ghost ten had a wonderful Christmas and i hope you have a great and safe new years . take care
You are doing a wonderful service to your community, and enjoy a cool hobby.
Don't let anyone taint your spirit!
I for one can’t express enough the disappointment that I cannot smell this giant fart water. Great stuff Post
Brother thank you for the content and people are always going to whine about something you're doing a job that obviously people aren't doing you're not taking anything away from anybody I applaud you by what you do it only took you a few minutes and look at the progress you've made keep the content or something about moving water that's so satisfying
Been a while since we had a whirlpool episode and it's one of the best on the channel thanks to the ice. I got hooked from one of the videos with a thumbnail showing your hand in front of a giant whirlpool from the drains in the street next to the field with the stupid design that floods the road (and people stupidly driving on the sidewalk).
Stupidly watchable!
If you lived in the UK you would be nominated for an award. You do a huge service for motorists and towns. Keep going! Thank you.
Nice work! This one was WIN WIN for all involved. Congrats on 500K and onto 1M!
