Ya done good brother. Just gotta have a little more faith in your equipment. A 20 yard bed should be more than ample to haul the river rock Kara wants for her custom fireplace. Thought I forgot or let that one go huh? Love home and just being you is a damn good thing!
Well that was an easy justification for the dump truck😅 Great load of scrap wood, it'll work just as well as any other wood. Sure is nice to have a backup, stay warm folks.
I hope you dump the next splits out a ways from that tight fit. Maybe on some plywood. Then push it to your stack. Maybe build a dump area with short strong walls to push a load into the front bucket. I wonder if a metal detector would find nails in old trees. I really like your backhoe thumb splitter. I really appreciate a covered load. Motorcycles & rocks or cinder blocks or even silage don't mix.
Whew that squeeze of the dump between the buildings had me sweattin'! I sure hope to never see a video of, "How the roof was LIFTED off my building! 🤦♂️"
that's some expensive fire wood, look at all them toys, lol, I'm jealous. I picked up a kubota with FEL just to move mulch around my yard, save my back
Do I split wood away from home often? No. Do I want a triaxle to fill with firewood to see it dump? Heck yeah! Nice set up Neil. You’ll have it fine tuned the way you want it in no time
Hello Rhode Island! Neil made that attachment years ago and it has saved countless hours of back-breaking labor. Thank you for your nice comment. ❤ We'd love to back there some day.
As far as I’m concerned you already justified that nice lorry when you picked up that big load of wood from the sawmill. All the best from England, keep on logging .
Neil… did you ever notice that people who sell firewood only have split wood in their stacks? I always wondered… What do they do with all the pole wood? I burn anything larger than my wrist… in fact… pole wood burns longer… kind of like knotty splits. It is great for extending burns when mixed with splits over a bed of coals. I’m thinking your line-up is pretty complete. The chainsaw, grapple, backhoe splitter and bucket are perfect for getting the wood to the Axiis. The bucket on the backhoe and dump truck are well matched… and work well for getting the wood from the splitter to the woodshed. Two trips out and two trips back to haul it all ain’t bad considering how much liniment it replaces… all-in-all, I think your pretty well set. Neighbor Mike and I are working on a deal to upgrade our wood processing. He found an old 12’ chain conveyor at a farm nearby. The farmer wants to trade it for a little welding work. Mike can weld… and I can refurbish the conveyor. We’re gonna pull the trigger after Christmas. We think it’ll work great for getting the wood from Frankensplitter to the dump trailer…. The only thing we haven’t figured out yet is… where are we gonna get a dump trailer??? Ahhh, the March of Progress. If a feller ain’t improving his wood processing operation… age and the rising cost of liniment will pretty much put him out of business! I’m glad to see your progress is working out splendidly.
A dump trailer would suit you all too well Dave! I've often daydream about putting a dump trailer to work and think it would be the perfect companion for the compact tractor. I think you'd better ask for one for Christmas! There is a neighbor here that has an elevator sitting out for sale as well. I've been trying to figure out a way that I could justify that as well. I'll be interested in seeing your new setup when it's all done for the inspiration! Have a great week!
Your wood splitter table is very cool, but the wood splitting back hoe attachment may be the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time. I’d love to have seen the build on that convenient monster.
@@digdrivediy I’ll have to look those up. I’m getting closer to having my JD310 running. I spent $1200 on 10 hydraulic hoses last week. They were all sun burnt and dry rotted.
One of my favorite moments was hearing the 755 crank and start, off-screen. The sound of the 3 cylinder Yanmar is unmistakable, and a sentimental favorite.
So glad I found this channel. Can you explain how the drone shots are done when you are driving the truck. Is someone else flying the drone for you? Great video to watch for sure!
at the point where you sped up the filming, I looked in the background, and watched the clouds just scudding across the Indiana countryside. It was truly a beuatiful thing to see. Having said that, I cannot tell you how many times I have driven the Ind (and Ohio, and Pa) Turnpikes, and thought "how utterly boring is this ride!" Ohio AND Indiana, all you see is corn, corn, and a skoshe more of corn. As always, thank you for sharing!
How much wood could a wood chucker chuck if a wood chucker could chuck wood? Plenty with that rig! It is awesome... Well done... Greetings from Australia
You’ve reached your goal again. I don’t need a dump truck but it would be really neat to have one. No to mention the other cool pieces of equipment. I’ve on the pond you say, burrrrr.
Best thing about this video... How eager, willing and able you were to help a "neighbor" like that... even though you got some fire wood out of it... 😊😊😊 I truly wish that there were more people like you in this world... You've got a heart a gold!!!
I was thinking the same. Sure- he got an entire tree worth of firewood, and to some people that’s a huge value. But to get it he needed a backhoe, dump truck, trailer, wood splitter, vehicle insurance, multiple vehicle registrations, big chain saws, lots of fuel, etc etc. I couldn’t help but to think how much this job actually cost him- and would your typical neighbor be able to afford to pay even the cost he put into it? Talk about a real gift… Even if he charges for these sorts of services- what a legend to have around!
@@deemstyle And it took over 7 hours on day 2... who knows how long he was there on the first day!!! He's always helping people in his videos... Such a rarity these days...I love how his father (and other family members) gets in on the action... he's adorable...
I started watching your channel because you had a GMC General. My father who is 86 worked in the General Motors plant in Pontiac, Michigan where the General and Astro 95’s were built. He worked in quality control. I like all of the toys you have.
Finally I get to see a video that is up to date! It is always a great joy of mine to look at your videos and enjoy the content.... you have get to be MacGyver of TH-cam! GREAT VIDEO as usual! Keep them coming!
If you plan on making louie your preferred backhoe hauler. You can increase the the trailer tounge by a few inches to help with the turning radius. Just fabricate a couple of 1in thick steel plates that match the bolt pattern of the hitch mount. Then add extra bolts to help spread the load out on the factory mount. The same can be done to the truck side also, to help push the pivoting point further to the back of the truck.
Oh I almost forgot.... replace those cam lock binders with a ratcheting style. Those cam locks are dangerous, I've personally seen a guy get hit in the face with the cheater bar while trying to tie down his bulldozer. If he wasn't built like a grizzly bear i would've have to take him to the hospital. The rachet binders are sooo much safer, and I can get the chain tighter then with the cam lock. The only downside is it's a little extra maintenance to keep the properly working, just spray wd-40 on the threads and moving part every once in a while to keep them lubed up and then your good to go. Oh and I recommend also getting a 12 to18 inch pry bar. This is used to keep the longer section of chain from spinning and helps get the chain really tight.
If you decide to install a 7-way RV socket (7 flat blades) on the trailer in the end just disassemble the adapter and use that socket. That is, unless you have other vehicles with the commercial/ag socket.
I appreciate that very much but you'll be pleased to know I am always wearing my noise cancelling ear buds which do a great job of blocking out the noise! Thanks as alway!
That was a great video. I used to drive a rig like that. I had a great time. I was in my early 20's This last week I turned 64 years young. Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 God bless you and your family and keep you safe.❤😊
Wow- that’s definitely the nicest wood splitter I’ve ever seen! I was really impressed- and then you pulled out that gas powered… “thing” at the end that pushed all the yard dirt away! Now you’re just flexing…. Hahaha!! So rad!! I really enjoyed that video.
Neil, your channel and Matt’s Recovery are two of my favorites three channels! Imagine my surprise when I say on their channel! Question: where did the sketch you did go? I’ve been watching episodes and I can’t seem to locate it on any of the walls…
That land to and from is beautiful! Especially the time of day, you nailed the shot! The two loads you got is a butt load, but the decomposition that came out of your first split with the backhoe was priceless! Can you imagine the value of two loads of that? All I have here in Missouri is Clay that is about like concrete. Success 100% and the top board was barely noticeable.
Suggestion for you, flip the upper section of the tarp arms on the truck so the bend is going the other direction. This will allow the arms to come down lower in the untarped position making it much harder to hit the tarp arms while loading.

Drone shots are beautiful. Your property from the drone is so organized. As we know, organization is the key to success. 😀😀😀

Don’t overlook the gentleman stacking the loader bucket!!
