Emerald is my favorite game in the Pokemon series and before anybody says it was probably your first one my first one was Pokemon Red in 98 and even I didn't understand why the champion was a water-type trainer when the 8th gym leader was also water
Because you chose a fire type Pokemon. The champion always takes the opposite type of your starter in those games. Not only that, but his entire team changes accordingly for that battle.
Hate the character outline but otherwise id love this. I do have to say though, gen 3 looks perfectly fine. Id rather have seen the newer games demade because i do not like the newer games as they are.
This looks super neat. Gonna stop watching and go play it myself. Here's hoping it has QoL changes that make fixing EVs, IVs, and abilities easier, otherwise I probably won't finish it. Also phys/spec.
why would that matter in an offline game with no competitive scene. cant u pokemon players just enjoy the game without worrying about the game without optimizing all the fun out of it
The fact you didn't seem to realize hard mode was hard mode BECAUSE you were forced to be underleveled, and just thought it was some sorta level cap glitch and hard mode was just higher levels had me rolling XD
This gane looks incredible butbaadly i csnt play any romhacks that change pokemon stats and typing, nothing against them its just a hard no for me. Wish there was a vanilla version
You guys keep mentioning that new Pokémon rom hacks include every Pokémon without realizing that the rom hacking community uses the same hacked base which includes that as one of its many features. In other words, this just another aesthetic hack.
Yeah, gen 2 had a better art style than gen 3. I like how colors look so much more vibrant, while in the gen 3 games everything looked so much more washed out
Gen 3 had brilliantly drawn sprites plus a gentle and beautiful use of colour- by far the prettiest of all the games. None of those insane oversaturated clashing colours like in some of the following generations. You sound like the kind of person to take a picture and edit the saturation to 200% lol
@@Dylb0 relax, it is just an opinion lol. I do think that the gen 3 sprites have an impressive amount of detail considering how small the screen still was. I am just not a big fan of the colors, that is it.
I would take Steven over Wallace any day. Steven is my favorite champ in the series, Wallace is a middling at best one (though I do like him as an eighth leader). I love Gen 3 (RSE but not FRLG) but I actually prefer Ruby/Sapphire over Emerald. I know that Emerald has more but I don't really like the majority of the added stuff.
@@johnscott5226 I don't especially. I loathe the Battle Tower specifically and most of the other facilities weren't very fun either. I did like a couple of them and the whole place generally more than the Platinum/HGSS version. I do like the Frontier Brains though. Emerald is like Crystal for me, perfectly solid but the additions aren't enough to really tilt the scales. I don't find either to be in the Yellow category where they are largely just better and improve the aesthetic enough to be notable or the Platinum category where the base version is utterly eclipsed. I don't really enjoy the majority of the post-game facilities across the series. I find nearly all of them to be far more tedious than fun, the Pokemon World Tournament from Black2/White2 is probably the only one that I have only positive feelings towards. As far as the other changes to Emerald are concerned, in theory I like having both teams have a base to go through but in practice I don't actually like the new one for Magma at all. Juan is basically a waste of a Gym Leader, being far too similar to Wallace in both team and personality. Wallace is a solid enough champ but I like Steven as champ far more. The slightly changed teams for Gym Leaders and Elite 4 are fine but mostly unremarkable (except having Tate and Liza have more than just Solrock and Lunatone). The gym rematches are nice but take too long to get up to speed. The animations at the start of battle are cute but inconsequential. There's nothing really wrong with Emerald but it didn't tweak enough to justify its price tag for me looking back.

I like them. They're definitely up to opinion but it stylizes the game in a way that there wasn't quite enough screen room for on the gbc
Me neither, but it's something I'm willing to overlook with all the other stuff.
Same, huge turn off.
