In this video, I altered Pokémon Emerald just a bit to make it more Ash like. I walk around as ash, and all the gym leaders have the same Pokémon they did in the anime. Basically, I wanted to see if Ash could have become the Hoenn champion. Let's find out!

Since the Battle Frontier takes place in Kanto, you could play through HGSS's Post Game, but swap out the gym leaders sprites and teams for that of the
Frontier Brains.

Admit it, the reason he got to be champion in Alola is people dump the shit out of Kalos when he somehow lost to Alan. Kalos was the most champion worthy moment of all the series, but champ is a champ ig.
Why do you restart the battle after a Pokemon faints? In the show they faint all the time and Ash just switches to the next one?

So excited for this one. This is my gen. I'm grown now and I have my kids play this on emulators on their tablets. We watch the new anime and everything lol. Ash's outfits up till xy are peak.

Before getting into hoen region ash had so much experience in the world of pokemon, yet he calls treeko a water type😂
And in the battle frontier right after Hoenn, he uses tackle on a ghost Pokémon
U should go on when a Pokémon faints. Ash also goes on with another one when his Pokémon can’t go on anymore
I’m not sure if this is a good idea but if you finish the ash challenge you could do it based on the pokemon of some of his companions like you could see if the pokemon that dawn had at each stage could defeat the gym leader like how dawn had piplup and bunnery buizel and pachirisu at eterna gym
That’s a series I might do in the future. More immediately, I’m looking at following ash’s rivals through the anime. I’m actually working on a hack of platinum to play as Paul already

I lost it when he brought Pikachu and Swellow against Lunatone and Solrock and then proceeded to one-shot Swellow because it worked in the anime.
ig Ash's Swellow is a hackmon with 6IVs and all 255Evs.
Actualy ash holds three titles: Orange islands league champion, First chapion of Alola and title of current Monarch of Master series. In all other leages he was part of he didn't won but always placed among the top trainers. Ash also won quite a few smaller competitions and i can't remeber right now which.
Also he conquered Battle Frontier
I think you could beat the Hoenn League with Ash’s team, as long as you have the right moves and attacks. Take Torkoal for example, replace Overheat with Solarbeam and Heat Wave with Earth Power, then you got a powerful tank.

14:21 The Thunder boost probably would have worked if you didn't have Swellow Poisoned and used Thunder Wave instead of Thunderbolt. : P
Yeah that would have been better, but poison or burn is my go to for guts, because it doesn't drop your speed.

The faint rule is… interesting, but honestly kinda frustrating to watch. Ash has won gym battles where a team member faints, I don’t see why if a Pokémon faints you have to start the whole match over, even if you are trying to play as Ash
Yeah you’re not the only one to say that. I was trying to make the challenge a bit more difficult, and nuzkocke-like without the actually nuzkocke rule, but I think I’m going to drop it for the next video.

Johto highest level in league was 60
Hoenn got lower
every league got easier and easier
The only challenge was Mt silver, Steven (Emerald) and Cynthia... after that... it was all trash
I thought grovylve evolved to a sceptile in the anime
So he does evolve, but not till the battle frontier. So the next season in the anime

Yup! But first I’m working on Paul Platinum, cuz that’s what the people demanded
I think it would've been fair if you started Ash in every region with Pikachu at max level. Let's face it, after Kanto region Pikachu would've roughly been around level 60ish, Johto at least 80ish, Sinnoh max cap level 99 & obviously Hoenn max cap level so on and so forth. Hard resetting Pikachu technically is an anime only thing when clearly it'd make no sense for Pikachu to be at the level of knowing Thunderbolt/ Thunder/ Electro Ball etc. while somehow being so squish that he loses to a newbie trainers lvl 5 Treecko.
One issue with this, Ash had a sceptile before the elite 4. Long before even. But i mean Ash does play on hard mode. So it kinda makes sense.
He didn’t actually. He had a grovyle for his entire Hoenn adventure. It wasn’t until he went back to kanto for the battle frontier that it evolved to Sceptile.

idk why faints need a reset? Ash loses pokemon in the battles all the time. It always goes down to his last pokemon (outside of Crasher Wake)
That’s true, it’s just a way to make the challenge more difficult. I normally do hardcore nuzlockes, but that would be much too difficult in this video. So I took a similar approach but a bit easier

Awesome video, I've always wanted to play through the Hoenn region as Ash, where exactly did you get Corphish though?
So I changed the encounters to get one. You get an old rod in decors town, and I made it possible to catch a corphish in decors town with it. I forgot about that change actually
@@NuzlockeJoe yeah, it took me awhile, but I eventually found one hahaha. But I'm having major trouble beating Brawly with Corphish and Treecko, tried to be as faithful to the anime as possible, but I can't 😅

@@NuzlockeJoe Yep, I ended up having to use Taillow as well, but now that I've got to Watson there is a slight issue, as it's my first battle with him, but he's using a level 40 Manectric... Any ideas how I could get past that? 😅
@@Niall_Sene Dang it. That was supposed to be his rematch battle, but I suppose it didn’t work that way… You could always PKHex in a stronger Pokémon, just for that fight. I could probably fix it’s but certainly won’t have time today
