I have a serious internal struggle right now between this Solo Skiff and the new Milha Lite Skiff. Doing mostly salt flats and some cypress ridden freshwater fishing.
I decided on my own the tohatsu 9.8 was not much bigger than the 6 horse the only thing you loose is turning radius. Once I figure out the trim and get it broke in I think 25 mph is a possibility. The transom mount on this motor was the smallest Also it had the narrowest mounting points. Plus I think the 9.8 is quieter and less rattle. I like it.
@@randysummerall Ah, I see. Good stuff. I'm trying to get a solo skiff and put a 9.9hp on it. Mainly for electric start, power steering, and power throttle. I wanna get a steering wheel so I don't have to use a tiller. Gonna be an epic build
Brand new model upgraded i powered it with a 9.8 Togatsu four stroke awesome. More to come as I continue to build this bad mamajama
Heck yeah that will be epic send me pics of what you do sounds awesome

This is dope 🔥 Is the new solo skiff rated for a bigger motor or did you just decide to go bigger?

No issues with it being to heavy? I wanna do this same thing with my skiff!
Just limits the turning radius that’s all
what pitch prop did you go with?
It’s the stock one I haven’t done anything to it yet
