- In this video, I explain how to download and import new planes from the Realflight forums. I also show how to add new airports. I wrap the video up by showing how to adjust physics so it's easier to learn advanced maneuvers like rolling harriers & rifle rolls.
Somewhat concerning that hz owns this product ….putting all the ax3 crap. Which you don’t need on a sim
Yeah, I was kind of shocked when HZ bought Realflight from KnifeEdge software. I think in the long run, we will get more content and more updates now that it's backed by a bigger company. However, that comes at the price of having to pay for the additional planes and flying fields whenever they release them. I would not be surprised if they eventually remove the ability to import models & fields to the software. I can go on the RF forums and download hundreds of planes for free, so I have yet to pay the additional cost for new models that HZ releases on Steam.
For the a3x gyro stuff - I agree. It's a simulator, you don't need a gyro. I think there's a place for the A3X in the real world - it has opened the door to a lot of people to fly and not worry about spending tons of $$$ on crashed planes, but it is definitely not needed. I personally have never flown with a gyro and learned the hard way (many airplanes smashed to pieces lol).
I was going through my closet and found the box for this... did not come with a CD or DVD, pretty box though. It came with a steam code..... and as you know you don't actually own steam games they are kept hostage. What a waste of 100 bucks. I will NEVER buy anything from horizon again. Well, DJI has a flight sim so I use that. I still have the RC and the dongle. Wonder if it will work with anything else...

had realflight 7.5 worked great but now to many problems trying to get realflight to work and trying to setup a steam account (impossible to do ) which is the only way to get it I am looking for a different product that actually will work
I had trouble setting up my stream account too, after many emails I set up the account on my phone, saved the password then used the same log on and password on my computer, works great now.
May you can help me, I’ve got realflight 9.5s and am trying to use my new NX20 as the radio. Ho do I set up the reset button?
Unfortunately, I won't be much help for that one. I used the Spektrum USB controller and I fly with Futaba. I am unfamiliar with to set it up on the NX20. Hopefully, someone else can chime in with help - if not, try posting on RCGroups and I'm sure someone there will know.

Which one is the new one, evolution or 9.5?
Evolution is the new one. This will also work on Evolution, you just have to enable the "legacy menu". Press the ~ key while in the sim and it will bring up the command prompt, then type "showlegacymenu" and you'll have the options bar at the top like 9.5
my sim tab does not have import in it why is that?
Do you know which version you're running? If it's Evolution, the toolbar is disabled. You can enable it by pressing the ~ key to open the console, then type "showlegacymenu" (without quotes), and press the enter key.
great video. My problem is that I'm getting no sound. Let me know if you have any tips, please.
Are you not getting sound on Realflight or for this video? If it's on Realflight - sometimes I have to go into my audio mixer and change the sound output to the default audio output for my PC. Idk why, but it has only ever done this for Realflight. If I happen to plug in or unplug headphones while Realflight is running, I have to restart it to get any sound.
how do you get smoke on your plane
On my setup, it was already pre-configured for Switch A (top right) to turn on/off smoke. I am not sure how to add it if it doesn't already have it.
