the turn where seth plays his fourth land tapped and passes, realizes it should be untapped, untaps it, unpasses the turn, casts a 5 drop with 4 mana, uncasts it, and then unplays his land for turn... that was amazing
Yeah I imagine they found the appropriate card frame and then just photoshopped the art and text onto that frame. I’d imagine if they recolored the border on the original card, it’d be harder, but I’m sure they took the simplest route.
@@Crunchatize_Me_Senpai and? photoshopping the art and text onto the right frame for all of them is still a decent amount of work as far as I'm concerned
@@domotoroOfficial I mean, it’s work in the same way that selling burgers to a few people at a fast food restaurant is work. It’s pretty basic stuff. I appreciate that they put any effort towards it at all. Just saying, it’s not the difficult task you’re making it sound like it is. It’s like the most basic part of an editor’s job.
I didn't realise that you guys were switching to webcam/paper magic. I like the cuts to cards you talk about, and the edits are cool, though the swoosh could be quieter. Felt like it was covering your talking at points. Much love, and CLASH ON 💪
I lost count in the middle of Seth's Ayara/Panharmonicon triggers. I'm pretty sure he missed tutors off the sawn in half demon, more than half of the ayara life-gain, at least half the ayara triggers off bowmaster. I think he might have actually survived the PoP if he'd done the triggers correctly.
Turn 5: maybe Crim forgot to draw his card for the turn. I don't know about the Phil storm turn, cuz it went too fast. Then on 51:40 Crim did 78+8=84. 54:06 Seth didn't lose 2 life from ancient tomb. 56:44 Crim forgot to add 1 +1/+1 counter to a creature. He did the same mistake at 58:26. Probably he thinks he get only 1 counter, but actually they are 2 separate life triggering. Actually, now that I notice it, Suture priest triggers only on your own creature, so ALL the lifegain triggers are wrong, he should only get 2. It may be relevant for the card draw trigger. Also again, Phil turn is kinda of messy: hard to understand without making too much calculations if there are any misstriggers. 1:07:19 Crim: there are 6 triggers for 6 +1/+1 counters, not 4. 1:08:00 I don't understand why Crim lose 1. 1:12:10 I don't understand if Seth tutor for 4 cards or not. After that I kinda of stopped keeping track.
Wow this is quite the change up! I will say I’m gonna miss MTGO and all the hilarity that came with it, but y’all did a great job on this! Would be fun to still have some things like chaos week or slivers, which are imo difficult to do in person, on MTGO
oooooo how fun. excited to see what paper magic brings to this show. now Crim won't ever skip through his turn! I'm expecting good things from him this season
This is the first Commander Clash that I've actually stuck around and watched the whole thing. The switch to webcam/paper is so much smoother to follow and easier on the eyes than online.
A little less sound effects but man the lighting and paper play looks great feels like you guys are really playing at a table playing good old kitchen table magic
Some of the sound effects are a little loud, so the audio balancing might need to be fixed, but having it all be both in paper and readable is a nice change
Been watching y'all since Jake was a player. This change away from Mgto I'm sure will be awesome, but I'm a little sad to see the switch away from mtgo after so long. Kinda felt like part of what made commander clash unique
Thanks phil for going back to one of the two colours that treasures have support originally in. Still its hilarious they put all of the cards that the commanders they picked normally have and called it mono coloured week.
This was an absolute blast, what an epic episode. Thank you guys for the switch to paper magic, I love it a lot and it feels much smoother the way you go through turns.
I feel like Phill has no idea how to balance the power level of his deck with the other players. Consistently way higher power decks than his opponents.
I was wondering how commander clash was going to continue with so few of the new Commander sets being ported to MTGO. Webcams! I love it. Thanks for keeping current, boys.
But we can't see their hands now. It really takes away from learning exactly how much Richard is holding back. or seeing if crim really does have that counterspell.
It looks like the change was popular so there isn't much point going against it, but there's some downsides for sure moving to paper. It's basically impossible to read the cards, whereas on MTGO the shorter text boxes were readable and easier to see. Not being able to see each player's hand all the time is also a big loss. Certain themes like Chaos Week and steal decks with bribery style cards also seem much harder to do on webcam. My biggest concern though is that lots of minor rules questions will be answered wrong and result in big mistakes that decide entire episodes
@@jeffe2267hopefully they'll talk a bit more at the end of the game in the next ones. I seem to be one of few that really enjoys the post game discussions.
The downsides are real but I feel that some of them kinda apply to the mtgo style too: namely the reading cards and seeing hands points. Unless you're watching at a very high resolution (higher than my internet can provide w/o buffering, at least), the rules text of cards on the battlefield are illegible and it's impossible to identify cards in non-POV players' hands without recognising the art. Everything else is very valid tho; shutting off theft effects and swapping out mtgo fails for human error will have an impact. Overall I'm still excited to see the crew run a season with a new pool of cards available to them (and to watch them spill their cards everywhere trying to shuffle :P)
My feedback to the new format: I like the life gameplay, but I slightly prefer MTGO, since everything is a bit more legible and it handles triggers by itself (also because this was the only channel to do it). Nontheless, great move to freshen things up and I'll also be watching all these new real card episodes and be having a lot of fun doing so.
This season not being on MTGO is a little sad for me, just because no one likes change, but at least no one's going to time out. I do really miss seeing their hands. It added a lot to the gameplay that the other channels that make gameplay don't have. Obviously a lot of work went into the production here with the lighting and getting the cards. I am very impressed.
I'll miss MTGO as watching you guys every week helped me learn more about the stack and card interactions but I enjoy the group so looking forward to more games paper can give you!

The fact that Crim one with sort of body and mind is incredible... The one card everyone dogs on him about being useless ended up being incredibly relevant🎉
I've watched every episode, and I'm torn. On one hand, the production quality is great. Hats off to everyone for a job well done. On the other hand, MTGO is an engine that enforces rules and clarifies the game state by displaying data: phase names, priority, cards in hand/library, all of that stuff. MTGO games also let you show us the hands at all times. That's a really unique aspect of Commander Clash that I would sorely miss if paper play was permanent. Finally, I'm concerned that paper play is limited to whatever cards each crew member owns. All in all I think I prefer MTGO to this format, but once again, great job.
