Honestly I remember my first time seeing a combo go off in a game and a light just kinda flicked for me for the possibilities. I did end up learning the lessons about what combos make the game fun or end quickly, rather than what Hive Mind + Eternal Dominion does. (Or Eye of the Storm)
This game was such a treat. Kibler doing Kibler things, DrLupo is such an entertaining person, seeing Aims (or anyone relatively new to the game) learn cool new interactions with their cards is always fun, and Olivia got to actually play her deck instead of just getting picked on

New mtg player here - don’t know that I’ve ever gotten to watch a newer player on an actual-play show like this, it was really cool and super encouraging to see!
Super fun game! Love seeing DrLupo join one of my favorite Commander show. Small misplay though: At 1:15:02 everything that damaged Aims should've been destroyed due to No Mercy. Feed the Swarm would've been played in postcombat main phase since it's a sorcery. Either way, great game!
I really enjoy how Aims is clearly a newer player to the game, and everyone is helping her out, making sure she gets the game. Reminds me of my play group. We have a guy who started playing in Novemeber, although He thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread when we play, We still help him out. Gotta love the MTG community
For newer players there's a particularly neat moment. Olivia pauses Aims at 53:41 from playing after attacks are declared by Brian to play a fog. You should get in the habit of checking in order of priority. A player ahead of you might have an action that is a reply to a situation and save you a play. Aims was the best part of the episode. The excitement for learning was great. I think they missed a landfall at the end. 138 scute swarms was the final total, i think.
Not that it mattered in the game, Brian was actually correct at 38:34 with Cascade. The land from the Cascade would go on the bottom of the library after Cultivate fully resolves, so after the shuffle. Edit: I am wrong, disregard.
Cascade will let you cast the card. So you put Cultivate on the stack while resolving the cascade ability. Then you finish resolving the cascade ability by putting all other exiled cards on the bottom. Just after that the Cultivate will resolve and search for basic lands and then shuffle.
1:29:48 Didn't see this in a quick browse of the comments, so: Olivia: "Two lands cards enter my graveyard from anywhere." Brian: "So she gets two more triggers." No, actually. The Gitrog Monster reads "one or more" so you only get one trigger per event that puts lands into the graveyard even if it puts multiples. As Underrealm Lich's ability is one event, it would only add one trigger. Essentially, you can never GAIN triggers with Underrealm Lich and Gitrog Monster, you can only break even if you bin a land from every single one. Easy mistake to make, though.
This is genuinely my favorite commander channel. The games are always hilariously entertaining and the guests are always so fun! Thank you for your contribution to making the internet a better place!
really enjoyed having a newer player at the table. ive been playing a while now but its nice getting explanations for cards and others politely explaining them
Watching Aims play and being genuinely excited to simply play, having fun and having a good time healed something in me and i actually decided to play again.
I'm fairly certain Aims had game in her hand but the whole match was just so wholesome I'm not even mad. Y'all are such great teachers and it's so refreshing seeing such wholesome reactions to cool card interactions ❤
The attitudes at this table are prime, top-tier commander! Love watching this and the vibes from everyone at the table! It's not about winning, it's just about having a good time with my friends!
I think Olivia forgot to bounce her Ramunap Excavator when she was supposed to (Look, I had to comment on that). But that was fantastic. Aims is a precious bean who is a perfect reflection of everyone who is starting to get into Commander. Edit: By the end of the video I wish I could like the video more than once for Aims. It was incredibly wholesome.
Thanks for such a cool game! Loved seeing DrLupo and Aims playing, such a vibe! I play Don Andrés myself so it was great to see how the deck played out here :)
i recently found the channel and as a mtg player who dropped/stopped playing at S4 is sooooooooo cool and a freaking joy to watch Aims plays and all the rest helping her instead of going bonkers and smashing her face with no reason at all, super glad that i found that episode among the other that i've recently watched ... by far my favorite channel since i got back to mtg(like 2 weeks :P) ... i get super overwhelmed by stuff on commander's and i totally understand how Aims feel !
It's so nice to just see 4 people having fun playing magic, being excited by each others decks doing the cool stuff, and having decks that are pretty fair all things considered. Every time I see a cedh game or really competitive table it's so boring because it's all so samey but commander at home seems to typically have the right vibe and power levels to keep things fun and unique
This was an awesome game! Please have more in the future where you have one person learning from you all. Not only was this game fun to watch, but the explanations were wonderful!
I really appreciate aims being in the pod, watching a new player getting exited for an opponents deck pop off is something that will never cease to put a smile on my face
One rule thing at 52:00 (well, two things) 1. Roaming throne enters as a dinosaur, so it would trigger Pantlaza and you would Discover 4. 2. Pantlaza has "do this only once each turn", so even with Roaming Throne, you would Discover only once
Thanks for playing pantlaza, I just built this deck and I’m seeing a very similar deck to what I have in mine. This is my favorite commander series on TH-cam. Thanks for posting the great videos guys! I look forward to the next one!
Tip for Aims with Thran Quarry. That turn you were able to play the Arcane Signet without throwing away the Thran Quarry. Could easily have kept the land in hand for a future turn when you have a creature to keep it around :)
I'm glad I didn't miss this upload! Great decks, lovely pilots, all around Hall of Fame match of commander. When I need to show someone, what commander is like, it's this match from here on out.
Not finished with video yet, but also built a Pantlaza deck and love seeing it played! Also when Bronzebeak ETB's off of Ghalta, shouldn't Brian of exiled things? It's not on cast right, just entering the battlefield?
I've love this channel so much and have watched since day 1. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, especially Aims. Having a little bit slower match with moments of genuine inspiration really brought a bit of magic to this eisode.
It's really cool to see Aims play, I think it's super rad that a 'newer' player was able to go play a game of commander with some of the best folks in the business. Very awesome!
It was incredibly sweet watching an inexperienced magic player participate, get excited and be given the chance to do cool things! And wow, that was the most polite and respectful thieving blue player.
I feel like if you’re risking the biscuit, you’re also, simultaneously risking it for itself, the biscuit. You’re risking ur biscuit for the continuity of the biscuit yk
This table is great and love the guests for the episode. Aims being a relatively new player getting to enjoy the new interactions between cards, Lupo has some really cool deck ideas.
The camera zoom on Brian as he ferociously flipped through his cards to count the fifteen that he was discarding to hand size was actually hilarious. Great video once again! Would be fun to see Lupo and Ben Brode together - I think it would be a hilarious combination.
I adored watching Aims play. The unbridled JOY to be playing and learning. Everyone else helping her out and working together so EVERYONE can play the best they can is what Magic is all about. Commander as it was meant to be - Friends doing cool shit TOGETHER.
When Lich puts 2 lands in the graveyard it only triggers Gitrog once because his wording says "one or more" because they are dropping at the same time on the same trigger. Whereas for example squandered triggers each time technically because you sac one at a time
I love this channel! I've been a Kibler fanboy since the ye-olden days, and absolutely love the energy and vibe that Olivia brings to any table she sits at. Thanks for the great content! Friendly reminder, when you have Ashaya in play, having a nontoken creature ETB also counts as a land ETB. Pretty sure at least two Scute Swarm triggers were missed.
There was definitely one missed when Olivia played Lighthouse as a land entering near the end, when she was at 64 scutes. So she should have had at least 128 at that point. Not that it mattered really, as she had it in the bag. GG Olivia.
I thinks it's really cool that they brought a new player and helped along the way. It takes me back when I first tossed myself into the lions den. I'm very glad I did. Found a new group of friends and we have magicked every Wednesday night since then
The new player / experience player at the table gives a fun dynamic. I don't play real magic at all , and I am getting confused sometimes. So seeing someone who can relate to that in a video is super fun.
An absolutely amazing game to watch as always. You guys are so cool with your interaction with each other and, it is something I always try to do when playing with newer players. If the newest player is having fun then you are always onto a winner.

I love the channel. Poor scute was missed for each forest creature coming in from ashaya
Yeah I was about to say, not a single landfall triggers from her non token creatures after her, not even from ashaya herself.
Watching Aims play reminds me of my earliest days of Commander. What a wonderful pod
24:40 Exactly Brian. Same as mill. It's only the last card in your library that matters.
Imagine seeing you here haha
really enjoyed having a newer player at the table. ive been playing a while now but its nice getting explanations for cards and others politely explaining them
I love Lupo
I love Aims
I love Commander at Home
This is the best episode ever, all my nerd-isms crossing paths
I couldnt stop watching. Very wholesome and enjoyable seeing players of different skill hang out and just have fun. Thanks!
Coming back from an eight year hiatus. You guys are fun.
Watching Aims play and being genuinely excited to simply play, having fun and having a good time healed something in me and i actually decided to play again.
Dear TH-cam, I like this show, please recommend it to other people. Kthanksbye
I'm fairly certain Aims had game in her hand but the whole match was just so wholesome I'm not even mad. Y'all are such great teachers and it's so refreshing seeing such wholesome reactions to cool card interactions ❤
this table is especially attractive
I mean, look at that tablecloth! It accentuates the rectangular features beautifully
Brian and Olivia explaining all the plays helps me understand the board state more clearly. love the show
That little One Ring squeek at 28:30 xD
The attitudes at this table are prime, top-tier commander! Love watching this and the vibes from everyone at the table! It's not about winning, it's just about having a good time with my friends!
I think Olivia forgot to bounce her Ramunap Excavator when she was supposed to (Look, I had to comment on that).
But that was fantastic. Aims is a precious bean who is a perfect reflection of everyone who is starting to get into Commander.
Edit: By the end of the video I wish I could like the video more than once for Aims. It was incredibly wholesome.
Love watching the best Magic content creators play. Thanks Olivia and Brian for inviting them back! 😊
Excited for this one with Dr Lupo
Thanks for such a cool game! Loved seeing DrLupo and Aims playing, such a vibe! I play Don Andrés myself so it was great to see how the deck played out here :)
1:24:50 doesn’t Ashaya come in as a forest land ( thus triggering Scute Swarm )?
I love watching Aims play, her excitement for the game as a new player fills me with joy. DrLupo is a blast to watch as well. Thanks for the fun game!
"Go crazy dude, do something nuts, do something unpredictable"
**summons earthquake**
i recently found the channel and as a mtg player who dropped/stopped playing at S4 is sooooooooo cool and a freaking joy to watch Aims plays and all the rest helping her instead of going bonkers and smashing her face with no reason at all, super glad that i found that episode among the other that i've recently watched ... by far my favorite channel since i got back to mtg(like 2 weeks :P) ... i get super overwhelmed by stuff on commander's and i totally understand how Aims feel !
That's just what we aim for so we're glad you enjoy it!
This was an awesome game! Please have more in the future where you have one person learning from you all. Not only was this game fun to watch, but the explanations were wonderful!
suprised lupo plays that's so cool
I really appreciate aims being in the pod, watching a new player getting exited for an opponents deck pop off is something that will never cease to put a smile on my face
One rule thing at 52:00 (well, two things) 1. Roaming throne enters as a dinosaur, so it would trigger Pantlaza and you would Discover 4.
2. Pantlaza has "do this only once each turn", so even with Roaming Throne, you would Discover only once
Pantlaza trigger is a “may” ability, so you don’t have to discover
Thanks for playing pantlaza, I just built this deck and I’m seeing a very similar deck to what I have in mine. This is my favorite commander series on TH-cam. Thanks for posting the great videos guys! I look forward to the next one!
Tip for Aims with Thran Quarry. That turn you were able to play the Arcane Signet without throwing away the Thran Quarry. Could easily have kept the land in hand for a future turn when you have a creature to keep it around :)
Yep that missplay was really bad 😅. I guess she's newbe to magic
@@grimgorlefort she literally says as much while introducing herself
I'm glad I didn't miss this upload!
Great decks, lovely pilots, all around Hall of Fame match of commander.
When I need to show someone, what commander is like, it's this match from here on out.
Not finished with video yet, but also built a Pantlaza deck and love seeing it played! Also when Bronzebeak ETB's off of Ghalta, shouldn't Brian of exiled things? It's not on cast right, just entering the battlefield?
Yeah there was so much going on I forgot about it ;o
I've love this channel so much and have watched since day 1. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, especially Aims. Having a little bit slower match with moments of genuine inspiration really brought a bit of magic to this eisode.
That sudden realization of card synergies is such a wonderful feeling. Like solving a puzzle without knowing you had one right in front of you.
Bryan and Olivia's genuine, earnest desire to be helpful to a newbie is so wholesome and fun to watch.
Love that you had a newer player on. It's nice to see the excitement in the learning process.
Seeing Brian play Pantslaza Sun Flavored really makes me glad I was able to get that precon and spruce it up! Love me some dinos!
I am starting playing Magic again after a looong time of not playing and I really like this content.
Great to see stremers that I enjoy here…
I feel like if you’re risking the biscuit, you’re also, simultaneously risking it for itself, the biscuit. You’re risking ur biscuit for the continuity of the biscuit yk
I LOVE Aims. Her getting excited over every interaction was funny af. Easily my favorite episode.
Man, this made it into my top 3 games on this channel. Such a great interesting match. Thanks as always
This is such a comfort channel for me yall are wonderful, positive, and blessed ❤❤❤
When Lich puts 2 lands in the graveyard it only triggers Gitrog once because his wording says "one or more" because they are dropping at the same time on the same trigger.
Whereas for example squandered triggers each time technically because you sac one at a time
This is a fantastic show. Really appreciate the atmosphere! Good job and keep it going.
Always find myself rewatching your intro just to admire your fur babies😂❤️
Aims radiates massive "Little sister, must protect" vibes.
Channel always getting better. Last episode would be my all time favorite!
An absolutely amazing game to watch as always. You guys are so cool with your interaction with each other and, it is something I always try to do when playing with newer players. If the newest player is having fun then you are always onto a winner.
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Lupo is my favorite content creator, and I enjoy watching Aims play with him in anything. I'm glad they got to experience this, and hope to see them on again soon. Also, ggs Olivia, haha.
