I've been using the ASUS ProArt PA248Q 24-inch monitor for my image editing for years. I calibrate it with my i1Studio spectrophotometer and my printed images match my screen. I couldn't ask for anything more. An excellent monitor that doesn't put a big dent in your wallet. I'll buy another ASUS ProArt if my current one ever dies.

I have a question, I"m currently using dual setup of HP Elite Display E243i. But I'm not so satisfied as they have tint shift issue. Means the color a bit shifted from blue to yellow from left to right or vice versa. So I would love to know if this ProArt has a similar issue like this. You can take document in Photoshop filled with white and go full screen to check that out. Could you please do that? Thanks in advance.

    Hey there,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Asus ProArt PA248QV monitor. It's great to see your enthusiasm for this piece of tech, especially for photographers, videographers, and content creators.
You've provided a lot of valuable information about the monitor's specifications and features, which is super helpful. However, I have a couple of questions:
    1. You mentioned that the monitor is budget-friendly. Could you please specify the price range or any deals currently available for it?
    2. You highlighted the monitor's color accuracy, which is crucial for professionals. Can you share any personal experiences or specific projects where this monitor's color accuracy made a noticeable difference in your work?
Your detailed insights will be much appreciated and could help others who are considering this monitor for their creative work. Keep up the great content!

Great video Nicco! I got question, is it a concern of resolution for graphic designer since this is just a 1920x1080 resolution and not a 2k monitor. Thanks

    • @NiccoValenzuelaPH
      @NiccoValenzuelaPH  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Totally depends on how much resolution you require. I can’t answer that from the perspective of a graphic designer though. However as a photographer considering this is relatively small at 24inches, the pixel density to resolution ratio is just about right

Hi Calvin! I think I also said in the video that while it's factory calibrated, the best practice is to still calibrate it to the lighting conditions of your workspace. The pre-calibration is basically a good default starting point but its still best to fine tune with your spyder.

Ipads and iphones have varying delta e ratings depending on generation. Those devices generally change color (and brightness) depending on what the front sensors detect and hence the colors can be variable. Also important to note that this is an IPS display and smartphones and tablets such as those use OLED screens

My PA248QV arrived home today (04/06/2021_brazilian haha). Which ProArt preset should I work on? sRGB or Rec.709? I will work simultaneously consulting the Pantone's Color Finder to make the correct conversions for RGB and CMYK. I believe that the most suitable way for this demand is sRGB. Do you agree? If you can share some of your experience with me, it will help me a lot about which preset I should work on! Congratulations for the video, the best i´ve seen about the PA248QV.

Hey Guilherme! Thanks for your kind words! I dont have much experience in graphic design but I do think that in this case, sRGB mode suites that better. The ProArt palette also adjusts brightness to the level wherein it can show you the best colors that it can't entirely do in a brighter setting. Both the sRGB and Rec 709 modes adjust to the optimized setting in terms of accuracy.

Hi! yes, just like any other monitor it has to be calibrated to the lighting conditions of the area where you will be using it. calibration makes sure that the color output adjusts to the lights surrounding your workspace thereby making sure that you percieve the right colors correctly.

Just got my PA248QV the other day and i'm not happy about it. Yellowish yung screen. I can't find anyone who does monitor calibration in my area and unfortunately I cannot afford to buy a calibrator as of the moment. Ano po masusuggest niyo na ibang solution? Para siyang naka-on yung blue light filter mode kahit hindi naman. Should I return it na lang?

if you edit on a colour accurate monitor, what difference will it make if your audience doesn't have monitors that are colour accurate? is there still a point in buying a monitor like this?

Let me explain it. I'm a professional photo editor with over a decade of experience. In a professional field, you will mostly meet with people who use MacBooks. And the MacBook supports 100% sRGB and 100% P3 color profiles. In my experience, if you don't have that level of color grading monitor, then you will see things differently than your client sees on their computer. If you use a Windows computer, though. If you use MacBook, having a great monitor is more important. Otherwise, you will look the same color in two different ways on your MacBook display and on your external monitor. Thank you!

Anyone have this monitor have any flicker issues? Only in photoshop when I click within a photo, or say click and drag a brush it flickers. I cannot find any solutions switching from HDMI cable to Mac display port to hdmi.

    • @NiccoValenzuelaPH

I havent had this problem but usually flickering like that can be due to your machine taking a bit of time rendering the image on the display. There could be other reasons though

@@4am446 I’m bad at the technicals of a machine. Running a decent MacBook 2016 that’s upgraded as much as possible. Could maybe have a better graphics card but that was def the issue, and good once reset. But also photoshop is only time it’s happened so running a decent size program and big file.

Saying 1920x1200 is perfect for a 24" is wrong and flat out bad advice. This is especially true for media professionals that this monitor is targeted for. The real reason for this is PRICE and BUDGET. Otherwise you would be claiming that higher end higher res monitors offer no added value. Consider for example researching Apple's Retina display standard and how to they take into account Angular Pixel Density to calculate ideal resolutions in a given distance and screen size. Im not saying this is a bad monitor, its actually excellent. All I'm saying is that as a reviewer, don't oversell it.

I am so happy with my BenQ monitor supporting 100% Adobe RGB and hardware calibration… (100% sRGB is not the widest color profile and it is not enough when you work professionally with image printing and graphic design).

There are ProArt options that have the same capacity. This technically an entry level ProArt. Still a huge leap in terms of color accuracy compared to common consumer monitors

Despite the borders it seems BenQ BL2420PT24 is still a better option in terms of price range and tec specs. It has a higher PPI (123 compared to 93) and a screen size of 2560 x 1440 instead of 1920 x 1200.

I've just bought a Asus PA248QV and the image shows a greenish cast. And the Asus technical assistance in Brazil won't even take it in for a proper evaluation. They say the greenish cast in the photos I've sent is normal and the don't consider it a problem with the monitor. Asus never more! What a disappointment!
