Hi! I am very new to soap making and your videos. I’m only two minutes in and you already got me hooked. Also funny enough my brother loves the scent of lavender so I’ll be making some for him for Christmas. Very happy I found your video ❤️
Ouch! I think I would have thrown my hands up in the air and just said, "Ok, that's me for the day. See you all tomorrow." LOL. I'm glad you got some awesome new shelves out of it, but sorry that you had to go through that. Congrats on an awesome show in Vegas.
I swear Joanna, the next time I’m n Arizona, I want to stock up on your gorgeous soaps! And meet you and your hubby! It seems that most soapmakers today are working awfully hard to come up with new and innovative ideas for soaps. And then it is one and done. And you never see that lovely soap again. You can’t buy it anywhere at any price. You have a number of fantastic soaps that you continue to make, and that is wonderful! That means that you can find it again once you run out! Please keep up the great work!
Joanne, glad to see u back. So sorry about the shelves falling and losing so much product. I think I would have been on the floor with everything else bawling my eyes out! I've missed you
Looking at those crash pictures of your shelves is making ME want to cry. BUT, the new shelves look great! I'm doing lavender soap today, so this is perfect timing:)
OMG Joanna!! You have my ultimate DREAM soap studio! I love it so much and I love your bubbly fun personality! I haven't got to watch your channel in a good while. After my daughter's wreck and my surgery I am just now getting back to making videos myself and also catching up on my soap making favs that I haven't seen in awhile! I'm sorry about those shelves. I know that was heart breaking! :)
Your video showed up on my feed as a recommended video. I must say, I have never seen a small business soaper make that large of a batch of soap! Personally, I was fascinated. For my business that is like a lifetime supply of lavender (probably). I enjoyed your personality, your energy and your techniques. I am sorry you lost all that product. I would have cried for days. I have subscribed and will be following, so please do another video soon!
Lavender always sells great! And you reminded me... we are out!😆 I’m sorry about your shelves! It sounds like you have been very busy! Glad to see you back, we’ve missed watching your videos! 💗
It's so good to see you again. I'm so sorry about your shelf falling and losing so much valuable supplies. Your new shelves look great. I want soapmaker 3 so bad. It's on my list of stuff to buy as soon as I can afford it.
Nice recovery Jo! You just rolled with the punches, good for you! Moving forward is the only way to get to new destinations, right? LOL! I always get such a kick out of your videos, thank you so much for sharing your recipe too! Thank you for the fun and education, looking forward to more! :-)

I'm so sorry about your shelves and ingredient losses I would have cried too. Lavender sells fast for me too, unfortunately it gives me migraines so i have to do all lavender at one time and the take three days to recoup. Thank you for sharing so much with us soapers.
I had to pause to make this comment, OMG! this is the biggest batch of soap I've seen made on You Tube, and I've been watching videos for at least 8 years. How did I miss this video, and this wonderful personality making Lavender soap? which by the way, is my favorite soap to make as well. Paused again.... can you tell me where you purchased the visor from? great idea!
So happy you were able to make a video with all you had going on. I really appreciate all your helpful videos. You are amazing to be so generous to share your experience and knowledge with everyone. Love the Lavender travel soap. Thanks for sharing.
So glad you are back! We’ve missed you... The new shelves look great. Sorry to hear about all the material you lost When will you be teaching your soap 101 class again? Your videos always make me smile. You can tell you love what you do!
So happy you've uploaded again, and glad you're back!! It's so sad that you lost a lot of ingredients, but you picked yourself back up and carried on soaping 😆Love watching you. x
Hey JoAnna, I appreciate your help with informing us on how to upscale. Do they have soapmaker 3 for Mac yet? The lavender looks so dreamy. Sorry to hear about your mishap...I'm sure better things will come your way. You are such an awesome soaper. Keep inspiring.
I am not Joanna, but I know a bit about SM3 (I founded the Facebook sorry group). He is considering trying to port to Mac, it's the biggest request he gets, but he is a one man site and he's most familiar with Windows. In the meantime many buy a cheap windows laptop just for SM3. It's well worth the investment.
H there! we missed you! I am so happy you weren't smashed in that avalanche! It must have been horrific to experience. How dreadful & expensive. The new shelves look great though.
In my video info I have Sid’s contact info. He is my EO Guru and I love him I would not be where I am today with out his wisdom and help to keep me going. Sids EO prices makes it possible for me to use EO in soaps. In business you are privileged to meet some amazing people and he is one of those people!
So sorry about your shelves, what a mess and what a loss...all that product! Love your videos! I was wondering if you could spray your logs with alcohol after you cut them to prevent ash, or were you going to plane them anyway and it works out because you can cut the ash off too?
Hi Joanna my first time to your channel and have to say I have never seen anyone make such a huge batch of soap I was blown away. I loved it though, and I have a couple questions? One is if you poor all your water in with your oils what do you use to mix with your lye? Another question is how do you keep your lavender from turning brown and looking gross inside your soap? Everytime I have done that it turns brown and looks really ugly. Whats your secret? TFS and God Bless You And Your Family.
Thank you for watching, I use ice (water) to make my Lye a 50/50 Solution and that is the extra liquid I need. My lavender does oxidize but the Matte lavender pigment help it not look so bad. I hope you have a very blessed day, and Happy Soaping!!!
Very nicely making soaps. I have doubt, why u add extra water to oils mam, why can't make soaps with 50/50 lye solution.. do we need to add water mam. I m new in soap making, thats why asking. Thank u in advance😊
Thank you so much for ur reply mam. I saw ur base receipe mam, ur using 50/50lye solution, that is clearly understood but other than that by which ratio u follow without discount, i cant understand that. In short, i m in humid climate in South India, i dnt know which ratio is correct, whether it's 1:1.5 or 1:2 lye:water.. simply some take 1:2.5 , so want to know which is ideal.. kindly pls share.. Thank you 😊

With the 50/50 Lye Solution I typically use a water discount. You can see a base recipe here: makesy.com/blogs/news/how-to-make-cold-process-soap

Just a tip, you should know which parts of the video to cut. I don't think I needed to see you pouring the oils for that long
