  • Making a simple in the pot swirl design scented with Lavender. The Recipe is below, the amounts are in both grams and ounces depending on your preference and scale you use. So use either ounces or grams when you measure but not both. :-)
Total oil weight is 32 Oz. Total Batch weight is 47.38 Oz.
Coconut Oil - 6.40 Oz or 181.44 Grams
    Lard - 10.24 Oz or 290.30 Grams
Olive Oil - 8.00 Oz or 226.80 Grams
    Castor Oil - 1.92 or 54.43 Grams
Cocoa Butter - 2.24 Oz or 63.50 Grams
Shea Butter - 3.20 Oz or 90.72 Grams
    Water - 7.04 Oz or 199.58 Grams
    Lye/Sodium Hydroxide - 4.34 Oz or 123.04 Grams
Fragrance of your choice - Use the IFRA recommended amount for that fragrance or essential oil.
    Optional Ingredients I used:
Sugar - 2 tsp / fully dissolve before adding the additional water or ice in place of the water to make the 199.58 Grams
Sodium Lactate - 2tsp / I put that in my cooled lye water to help release from the mold.
I heated the oven to 170 degrees turned the oven off I put the soap in and left the soap in the oven turned off for approximately 14 hours before I unmolded and cut this batch of soap.
Last but not least let your soaps sit and cure 4 to 6 weeks

I enjoyed this video as it was visually informative and your recipe is very good. In your next video could you please speak up a little bit more and lower the music as sometimes it was hard to hear what you were saying.

Hi fellow soapers, good news, you may use your soap after 24 to 48 hours! Especially when you fast cure in the oven at 170

I haven't tried lard yet, but tallow makes an excellent bar of soap. Maybe I'll try lard next? I wonder how different it would be?🤔
