Eberlestock Bandit and the TSA - my review

- I needed a small pack alnk.to/cSHKus4 to use as a carry-on that was TSA-friendly for my flight from NC to California. I took a chance on the Eberlestock Bandit being small enough to fit as a carry-on but also large enough to carry items I needed for short day trips with our church group. This is a fantastic pack that has laser-cut MOLLE, a total of 935 cubic inches, weighs under 3 lbs (empty), and measures 18"x9"x7".

Thank you for the actual visual on your body every time. I look for backpacks and things like that on the Web to buy. They give you the dimensions but in reality. It's just so much easier if they would just use a person and just shows how big the pack is so kudos for that
You are very welcome and I look for the same thing in size reference. What works for someone that's 5'3" may not work well for someone like me and vice versa.

Thanks for the overview man, I'm seriously tempted to pick one up now. I was also looking at the Karrimor SF Sabre 30L. I'm about to depart for Europe + The Middle East (from the UK), my plan's to just backpack, bringing my sleeping bag + bivy along. I did Finland>Rus>Georgia>Azerbaijan last year (was supposed to top everything off with Iran but I had my visa rejected after applying for it in Armenia

I got several eberlestock bags. Most recent purchases were the X2 pack, two weeks ago, for my saddle hunting kit. Then just today, purchased(not shipped yet) the S45 Big Trick which has the same/similar zipper layout as this H31 Bandit, but is bigger, has a waist belt, and has a built in expandable weapon scabbard. I wanted something big enough to accommodate my Ruger PCC 9mm(Magpul PC backpacker), my Tactical Solutions 10/22 takedown(Magpul X22 backpacker), or both if I feel like it.
Also own a F1 Mainframe with a Vapor 7500, a J51 Warhammer with a G1 Little Brother, and several Batwing pouches that I bought over the course of a year to several years ago.
Impressive collection, @srbontrager! I am new to the Eberlestock line of gear and I'm looking into getting one of their larger packs to do what you mentioned above.
@robertsbushcraft I am a huge fan of the Magpul backpacker system, however one drawback. You'll need a backpack that has a main compartment that'll accommodate the 19½" of the x22 backpacker or the 20½" of the PC Backpacker.
I like the new intro for the video. How was the Bay Area? It's my neck of the woods. What is your opinion about the eberlestock pack compared to the three day assault pack. The review was good and gave me some ideas for what to pack on trips. Thank you for the tips on gear and keep up the great content.
The bay area was beautiful! I feel that the Eberlestock pack handled the load well, is more ergonomic and geared towards a one day excursion while the three day is more of an overnight/multiple day bag. I am glad you enjoyed the review!
