I think that is a good move, looks like the Dirt games will be over the top big dumb arcade games and the Dort Rally games will be sim style racers based around real rallying and rally cross. Personally I didn’t like Dirt 4 too much, it was just the same game as Dirt Rally/Dirt Rally 2.0 but more arcade

We need a good sequel to dirt rally. The 2 was a downgrade overall except few things like tarmac. Dirt rally (1) is my favorite car game. The map are so fun and the feeling is awesome..

Just so you're aware, Codemasters didn't publish Project Cars 3. That was BANDAI NAMCO. They aquired Slightly Mad Studios quite a ways into development, and pretty much had nothing to do with the game.

unpopular opinion, but I am not looking forward to DiRT's departure from the sim-style rally racer we saw in DiRT Rally. With its new arcadey feel, D5 leaves the rally sim genre with no suitable leader.

D5 is another game, its continuing from D4, DR and DR2 are the sim ones. D5 is made by another dev team, they will keep making DR titles and updating DR2

The game see the Joystick but the game dosn't recognize it. Sorry let me be clear, the game sees the stick but when I go to configure it thats when it dosn't take my input. Been playing dirt 4 loads recently, really enjoying it. So thought I’d look into buying dirt 5 and maybe get better graphics and gameplay. But no it’s arcade based. Fuck that, I’ll stick to dirt 4.

Honestly I kinda agree with u, I've been playing dirt 4 for ages and I love it for its realism, when I downloaded dirt 5 I was expecting it to be as realistic as the previous one but it was totally different. Another thing that disappointed me it's the fact that there is just rallycross, I mean yeah it's fun but personally I think that without rally the game lacks of something 😅.

Codemasters has to franchises like Forza Motorsport, Dirt Rally is the sim franchise and somewhat like Forza Horizon, Dirt is an Arcade Racer. Dirt 4 was somewhere in between.
Me too bro, if you expect anything like dirt 2.0 in the way of handling do not waste money on this, I'm not a fan of arcade games and this truly is nowhere near sim, I can't stress that enough, I want to like it but no, I got it on xbox game pass so it was free but I uninstalled after an hour. If you like goofy ass arcade games this is for you. Honestly I wish it had a sim racing setting because the game could be awesome if it was sim based

I disagree. PC was designed as a hardcore sim and was originally financed by sim players, so churning out an arcade was basically false advertisement. Dirt has always been more experimental, and in my opinion, it's nice to see them commit to a style for this one.
Josh 01 yeah makes sense also because your average joe playing racing games doesn’t have a wheel/ sim rig, but at the same time I think they should stick with their fanbase more. But I think they did make a new sim in ‘19 it’s like dirt 2.0 or something. But this is kinda turning into a “mustang” Mach E type of deal

Dont buy it! All ya need to know. GTA has better off road racing as side missions. This game is more demo derby than racing. Play it on super easy, enjoy the tracks and move on to the next 60 dollar mistake.
I'm a fan of Dirt 1,2,3 & 4 but this is not the rallying I've come to love and enjoy. In truth, this is crap compared to its four predecessors! It's more like an arcade game(a bit extreme but you get my point!?) It's a shame i can't get my money back!!!

You want to Play a 1990's PC Game?, just install it, Tweak a Few Executables and INI Files to get it Working in Widescreen and running on modern Hardware (Getting a Modern PC to Recognise an old Launcher is not the Easiest thing in the World, i do Grant that), or just download a GOG Re-Release, maybe add a third Party Patch or 2 such as NGlide if the Game supported 3DFX Glide back in the Day, and Boom! Your Done! 10 Minutes if that :) and indeed, the Performance is amazing, while a Modern AAA Console Game is, on Average, 30FPS 1260P at Medium-High Settings, a Really Powerful PC, with a Moderately good PC Version of the Game, is doing 140+ FPS at Native 1440P and at Ultra Settings, *with* PhysX, GameWorks and GPU Hardware Rendered Raytracing! You cannot Beat it!

Me too bro, if you expect anything like dirt 2.0 in the way of handling do not waste money on this, I'm not a fan of arcade games and this truly is nowhere near sim, I can't stress that enough, I want to like it but no, I got it on xbox game pass so it was free but I uninstalled after an hour. If you like goofy ass arcade games this is for you. Honestly I wish it had a sim racing setting because the game could be awesome if it was sim based

I disagree. PC was designed as a hardcore sim and was originally financed by sim players, so churning out an arcade was basically false advertisement. Dirt has always been more experimental, and in my opinion, it's nice to see them commit to a style for this one.
That's what the disgusting Codemasters community thought about, they have become even more deplorable than ever before.
This game got annoying quick. I just couldn’t get into it. I prefer the non-flashy realism dirt 2-4 had to offer.

Josh 01 yeah makes sense also because your average joe playing racing games doesn’t have a wheel/ sim rig, but at the same time I think they should stick with their fanbase more. But I think they did make a new sim in ‘19 it’s like dirt 2.0 or something. But this is kinda turning into a “mustang” Mach E type of deal

@@MrMonsterKen hey I’m just saying the expectation for a DiRT game is a simulator, I’m not saying they can’t make arcades. They can make as many arcades as they want! Just release it under a new ip, kind of like the mustang Mach E fiasco. I have no problem with an electric mustang, just not an SUV called a mustang. I feel like this is similar but maybe a slightly smaller scale.

This is an important question that shouldn't exist. I got Steep and when I put it in, wouldn't even let me play without making an account. Luckily it was only $7, but still sucks to waste money on a game I won't be able to play

Dont buy it! All ya need to know. GTA has better off road racing as side missions. This game is more demo derby than racing. Play it on super easy, enjoy the tracks and move on to the next 60 dollar mistake.
It's a no-brainer for me to get this on Xbox. 120 FPS and I get a free upgrade to Series X.

I'm a fan of Dirt 1,2,3 & 4 but this is not the rallying I've come to love and enjoy. In truth, this is crap compared to its four predecessors! It's more like an arcade game(a bit extreme but you get my point!?) It's a shame i can't get my money back!!!

@@JN-hg5wn No Problem, and Agreed, Games should always be Ported down from PC, as it has Advantages on both PC (Higher Frame Rates, better Optimisation, Cleaner Textures, more Advanced Graphical Options as the Game is not being Held back by a Core Code and Engine that have been built around Console Limitations as the Engine and Code have been built to Take Advantage of PC) and Consoles (Often much Higher Frame Rates due to better Optimized Core Code that Bottlenecks Less as a PC has a lot of Potential Bottleneck Points in it Architecture and thus needs a Hyper-Optimized Code to Run at its best, Hyper Optimized code is also Easier to Run, meaning more Performance with Less processing Power, which is very useful for the Consoles which, even in the Forms of Xbox Series X and PS5, are *Very* Underpowered compared to a Decent PC) Alike, and that means better Games!

Im sure MS will - are doing that with their games, as they are so pc focused, with their mentality about scaling and such. Their games are some what seems like the best pc optimised in buisness. Looks awesome with a ton of options to tweak, and runs super well IMO 👍🏻

PC Game Engine, and their Increasing Commitment to PC, Bringing all their Future Games, Including the Next Forza Title, to Steam, Making a lot of their Future Games for the PC First and then Porting them down to Series S/X as it gives vastly better Scalability and allows for 120FPS Performance/ 60FPS Quality Running Speeds, as Opposed to the 60FPS Performance/ 30 FPS Quality Running Speeds from More Bloated and Inefficient, and thus less Scalable, Console Biased Code , packing their PC Games full Of Options and yet giving them Incredible Performance, and giving Us what, due to its Nature as "This Generations Crysis" and being rather Difficult to Run at a Playable Frame Rate when at fully Maxed Settings on the Biggest Honkin' PC Imaginable (I am talking Digital Foundry's i9 Xtreme 24 Core and RTX 3090 Powered Beast here) and thus may not even *boot* on Consoles, is looking Increasingly Likely to be a *AAA PC Exclusive* In Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020! Indeed, as someone who has Gamed, and still does Game, on Console as well as the PC (its always a good idea to have the Latest Console around IMO, just in case a Game gets a *really* bad PC Port because the Publisher doesn't give a Hoo-ah about the PC, EA, Activision and Warner's are the Worst for that (Probably because PC Users, being Older and More Intelligent, do Not Buy into the whole MTX Scam and Lootbox Gambling Rubbish those Publishers use to get 90% of their Profits! So they focus more on Gullible and Immature Console Users as they Buy into that Crap more) ..or the Developer is Incompetent and cannot create an Efficient Game Code to save their Lives, and the Game barely even *Runs* on even the most Powerful PC as the Port is so badly Borked) I am well aware of how Obsolete Consoles are, after all, they were, until PS4 Pro and Xbox One X Came along and Finally gave the Consoles the Benefit of a Dedicated GPU, a good *Twenty Years* behind the PC architecturally as they were "Pre 3DFX" Architectures! PC got Dedicated GPU's in 1995 (I am 3DFX Voodoo Master Race for Life!) , Consoles took until 2016 to Catch Up! they are Miles Out of Date.
Even the Next Generation Consoles are well out of Date, sure, the Series X is very Powerful for Console (PS5 is way down on Power compared to Series X, its only Advantage seems to be the Ultra Fast SSD being a M.2 PCIE rather than a SATA like in the Xbox, and that Advantage is Lost by the Fact it wont Support Cross Save!) but, its CPU and GPU (Ryzen 1300X and Radeon Vega 56 "Big Navi") are still only Really Equivalent to a 6700HQ and a GTX 1060-6GB, a Mid to High End Gaming Laptop, from Four Years ago! So it is still very Underpowered and Outdated compared to a top End PC, this outdated Nature can be best seen via their Ray Tracing Solution, as it is Software based and running on the CPU, while PC has, for the past 3 Years or more, had a Hardware based GPU Operable Solution in the form of NVidia RTX... RTX just needs better Optimization as it is, sadly, still a bit of a Frame Rate Killer like PhysX and GameWorks were in their Earlier Years.
I think the Problem is, Many of Todays Console Users are very Young, Teenagers, so they came up in the Days after the SecuROM Scandal basically put PC Gaming into a Coma, when the Only Games available for PC Ran Extremely Poorly as they were either low Budget "Slavclunk/Eurojank" Titles (although some *Extremely* good PC Games came out of the Slavic Nations as well at that time, the First 2 Witcher Games, Necrovision, Painkiller, Serious Sam the Second Encounter, etc) or were "No Effort" PC Ports of Console Games from Publishers just seeking a Quick Extra Buck and with no Changes made for the PC, with Cutscenes often still Running at 720P, Physics Tied to the Frame Rate meaning the 30FPS Cap was still in Place (and Uncapping it made the Game run at Double Speed..), no Real Texture Settings, etc, so, During that Period, I am sad to say, Console Gaming genuinely was *better* than PC Gaming for a While, so they have no Idea of how much better PC Gaming was in its 1990's Glory Days and when PC had all the Best Games, Especially in the FPS Genre, Had Online Multiplayer 3 Generations Ahead of Consoles, had GPU Hardware based 3D Acceleration *Twenty Years* before Console!, and Consoles either didn't get the Games at all, or get very pale Imitations of the PC Originals, as those Days happened before they were Born! so they think Console is Superior to PC. As they Grew up in the Post SecuROM Period when Console actually was better than PC for a Few Years, PC had Vastly better Hardware even during that Time Period, Yes, its just virtually No One was taking Advantage of it until PC Gaming came out of its Coma in around 2010/2011.
Teenagers, especially now, are Raised as "Special Perfect little Snowflakes" , and they believe their Opinion is Always Right, and that *everyone* else is wrong, as a Result, with PC Gaming really back on the Rise and heading back to where it was in the Late 1990 again, they cannot *Cope* ! when they go Ballistic and attack the PC Platform, it is because they are unable to *Cope* with the Fact PC is Proving their "Precious" Opinions to be Wrong! they are basically having one of those Nuclear Strength Temper Tantrums that Cartman Has when Kyle Proves Him Wrong. Again.
They, indeed, Cannot get the Fact that PC Is Superior through their Thick Skulls, because they are unable to Compute, trough a Combination of traditional Teenage Stubbornness and being raised as a "Special Perfect little Snowflake" that their Opinions are Wrong!
Indeed, You cannot beat the Freedom and Performance of a PC. You want to Play a 1990s Console Game? You need to go and get the PS1 out of the Attic and Pray it hasn't Packed up! You want to Play a 1990's PC Game?, just install it, Tweak a Few Executables and INI Files to get it Working in Widescreen and running on modern Hardware (Getting a Modern PC to Recognise an old Launcher is not the Easiest thing in the World, i do Grant that), or just download a GOG Re-Release, maybe add a third Party Patch or 2 such as NGlide if the Game supported 3DFX Glide back in the Day, and Boom! Your Done! 10 Minutes if that :) and indeed, the Performance is amazing, while a Modern AAA Console Game is, on Average, 30FPS 1260P at Medium-High Settings, a Really Powerful PC, with a Moderately good PC Version of the Game, is doing 140+ FPS at Native 1440P and at Ultra Settings, *with* PhysX, GameWorks and GPU Hardware Rendered Raytracing! You cannot Beat it!
