  • Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Join me on an incredible cultural adventure as I take my American friends to the breathtaking National Mosque of Malaysia! 🌍 In this vlog, we delve into the rich history, stunning architecture, and serene atmosphere of one of Malaysia's most iconic landmarks.
👫 Watch as my friends experience the beauty of Islamic art and design, and learn about the significance of the National Mosque in Malaysia's cultural tapestry. The mosque, officially known as Masjid Negara, was inaugurated in 1965 and stands as a symbol of the country's commitment to Islam. Its modernist design incorporates traditional Islamic elements, creating a harmonious blend of the old and the new.
🕌 Explore the intricate details of the mosque's interior, adorned with beautiful calligraphy, geometric patterns, and symbolic motifs. Learn about the importance of the 73-meter-high minaret and the unique umbrella-like roof, which symbolizes the aspirations of an independent nation.
🤝 As we wander through the expansive courtyard, you'll witness the serene beauty of the reflecting pools and the lush garden, creating a peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur. The mosque can accommodate up to 15,000 worshippers and is not only a place of prayer but also a cultural hub that welcomes visitors from all walks of life.
🌐 Whether you're a travel enthusiast, culture lover, or simply curious about different parts of the world, this video is for you! Join us on this immersive experience and discover the beauty of Malaysia's National Mosque.

National Mosque is closed to visitors during praying hours. But there are 2 mosques which you could enter and watch prayers which are Masjid Wilayah and Masjid Putra.
    Some additional points
    1. The extended part of the mosque (linked by a bridge) is actually a masoleum, reserved to rulers or prime ministers of the country.
    2. The old building across the road is main railway station built by the british (they needed trains to transport tins and rubber etc back to the UK. The rails connect direct to the port). The KL Sentral railway hub is less than a mile away.
    3. The fountains in the mosque was design to aid with cooling around the area since in 1960s airconditioning system was not available yet, or as wide.

Hi guys..the 1.35 - the old building that you were pointing at, was once The Malayan Railroad Admin building (KTM-Keretapi Tanah Melayu -1957-1970's)- I guess that was after Malaysia got its Independence ...but way back before that it could be the building of the British-Malaya transport Administrative ...but not sure of that.

What stars show the Qibla direction?

Muslim sailors called it al-Qiblah and it is found in the constellation they named al-Rakabah. We know it as the North Star, found in the Little Dipper. Once you do this a few times, it becomes really easy to spot the north star and know the qiblah.12 Oct 2016
    qibla
the direction of the Kaaba (the sacred building at Mecca), to which Muslims turn at prayer.

Jawi is based on the Arabic script, consisting of all of the original 31 Arabic letters, and six additional letters constructed to fit the phonemes native to Malay, and an additional phoneme used in foreign loanwords, but not found in Classical Arabic, which are ca (چ‎), nga (ڠ‎), pa (ڤ‎), ga (ݢ‎), va (ۏ‎), and nya (ڽ‎).

I think one of you asked if we go to a religious school? in Malaysia Islamic Education is part of the school curriculum and it's compulsory for all muslim students from age 7 to 17. but it only teaches the basics. however we do have full Islamic kindergartens, Islamic public primary & secondary schools, tahfiz schools, Islamic colleges & universities, and also Islamic extra school for kids who attends the regular school at the same time. when I was in primary I did both regular school in the morning & Islamic school after lunch. the Islamic school teaches more in-depth of each aspects of Islam like reading the quran and tajweed (it's like grammar, but for quran), prophet's history, fiqh, arabic, tauhid, khat (Islamic calligraphy) etc. and some kids have a separate quran lessons at night or on the weekends.
