Wow. U guys had a blast celebrating Merdeka at Merdeka square and putrajaya. The atmosphere were mind blowing. Also do check it out MALBATT at our cinema with is our version of Black Hawk Down. The US movie downplayed our Malaysian troop in the movie. In actual fact it is the Malaysian troops representing the UN helped Americans in the rescue mission.
You guys missed LIMA 2023 in Langkawi. Next would be LIMA 2025. Next year, national day event will be epic at the new 118 tower next to historical stadium merdeka during independence proclamation.

Unfortunately, some less educated Indonesians, to this date, still believe that the formation of Malaysia (Malaya + Sabah & Sarawak in the northern Borneo) was a neo-colonialist agenda initiated by USA & Great Britain. The 1st. Indon Pres. Sukarno was very mad when 2 northern Borneo regions joining Malaysia out of the internationally recognized referendum organized by the United Nations. Luckily many open minded Indonesians can move on.

By the way, why this date is so important that it is even celebrated in such a huge celebration with parades is not because people who were alive in 1957 are still alive today, but the tradition continues to be celebrated in such way since then annually. I would recommend foreign tourists to come and visit Malaysia in the final week of Aug because of this important day to us Malaysians. Happy Independence to you too ❤
We did a lot of fighter plane exercises with US. Last time the first time F22 ever came to the region having exercises with our SU-30MKM back in Cope Taufan 2014.

The celebration in Putrajaya was fhe nationsl level. In each state,we have the state level ones separately, in august.

The characters sing Malaysian folk/children songs , some modernised for children in these recent years so they’re very famous among the kids. Their Didi&friends youtube vids are m’sian parents’ go to vids for keeping their kids entertained 😂

We went to Putrajaya that day and we came early at 10pm to get the front gate spot because its started become crowded after Merdeka square event. It's super exhausted but worth it.

11:19 the mascots are famous animation characters created by a local animation studio. The characters sing Malaysian folk/children songs , some modernised for children in these recent years so they’re very famous among the kids. Their Didi&friends youtube vids are m’sian parents’ go to vids for keeping their kids entertained 😂
Those mascots are actually mascots of all animations produced by 100% local animation company. They are like our prides.

We went to Putrajaya that day and we came early at 10pm to get the front gate spot because its started become crowded after Merdeka square event. It's super exhausted but worth it.
