Yes sir!! Went and seen them in Atlanta a while back, KILLER…. KILLER concert! Put on one hell of a show! And LOUD! Sounded just like they did back in the 70s. Just didn’t move as quickly, but Pete and Rodger still had it. Especially Rodger.
I was there at 14 years old. My first concert. I was seated behind the stage. What you don't see in the videos is that Keith Moon had a guy sitting behind him with a box of drums sticks. Keith would hit a cymbal and let go of the stick and it would go flying off. He would then put his hand behind his back and this guy would put a stick in his hand and Moon wouldn't miss a beat. I was amazed watching this!
+Bill Sisk Wow Bill, that's amazing. Lucky bastard! :-) Bet your ears were ringing for awhile after that show. :-) I would have loved to see the Who with Keith.
I saw them in Oct of '76 in PDX. Fantastic show. It was close to the end of their last time truly in the sun.. Entwistle said they were playing so good they could just go on forever like that. Helluva comment from the players.
bill, i was there also standing on the main floor... the place hadn't had a lions football game played there yet....(there was no heat in the dome, and the temps that day outside were in the single digits... +80 thousand people, a record for an indoor concert at that time.)...
It was the first concert at the Pontiac Silverdome and for some reason was General Admission. Unless you got in front of the stage on the main floor the sound was terrible. Saw many a Lions game there over the years but never went to another concert there.

Keith Moon's huge cymbal crash during the scream.. goosebumps. The man knew how to make a song dramatic. The greatest thing about this band is how powerful and loud they sound. And it's 1975 and only 3 instruments. Goodness.
I was there in the front row as well right in front of John stage left and I remember the guards pulling people over the wall carrying them on their shoulders past me and throwing them back over the wall.
Well... The Who probably would release this concert in it's entirety, But we all know how the British are. They just got to tax every thing. Even extremely loud distorted rock N Roll shit!

I saw them 2 days later at Cincinnati's Riverfront Colesium 12/8/1975. I was a 19-year-old kid at the time. They just played for 55 minutes, but it was the best rock concert I have ever been to. They were very LOUD. I just remember walking away convinced that Keith Moon was the best drummer in the world. Oh, and the price of the ticket was $7.50.
That doesn't sound right, that they played for only 55 minutes. I saw them on this tour in Atlanta, and they were playing two hour concerts at the time, (as well as in 1973 and 1976, when I also saw them). Are you sure it was that short? Why would they have cut their show in half?
Roger always delivered. Pete was constantly wavering between being grateful for that and frustrated often that they were so different personally and even creatively. When they were on and content they were completely untouchable live. Pete is a genius and Keith and John are just the best.
The way that Pete Townshend emerges with his roaring Les Paul at 7:50 accompanied by Moonie's powerful crash & Roger's scream.. I can't get enough of it. Greatest live band of all time.
Saw them in Chicago a couple days before this - best concert I ever attended. They played most of Tommy and a good chunk of Who's Next. It was the last time they toured the US before Monnie passed away, so glad I got to see him one last time (also saw the 73 tour).
I was 8 years old living 12 miles away in Hartland Michigan. I did not know the Who at that time being born to parents born in the 1930's they could not have cared less so they were not listening to ARO radio. Was this the zenith of the WHO's career? I doubt it the guitar sound is awful compared to Leeds, Hull, Isle of Man. They only good one I've heard is the Chicago show with Kenny Jones in drums with a Les Paul and possibly Charlton but they never sounded as good as the SGs through the HIWATT AMPS.
I was at this concert front row stage left my friend had a 35mm camera the crowd was pushing so hard that the guards were grabbing people in the front row center carrying them on their shoulders walking past me and throwing them back over the wall while the were doing this my friend jumped over the wall climbed up the steps and had one foot on stage taking pictures when we all left walking through the parking lot some guy ran up and stole the camera right off his neck.

The video i have of this show starts somewhere in their Tommy set. If audio of the entire show exists, I hope they release it as a live album. Definitely need an official live album representing their 75-76 tour.
There's not stereo audio of this show, is there? I agree, though -- an entire show from that stretch other than what's come out from Swansea would be great.
I doubt it the guitar sound is awful compared to Leeds, Hull, Isle of Man. They only good one I've heard is the Chicago show with Kenny Jones in drums with a Les Paul and possibly Charlton but they never sounded as good as the SGs through the HIWATT AMPS.
Nice improvisation from Moon. That's the difference kids.

Very good performance
It was better live..Way better.!!
Nobody ever forgot THAT.
All I can say is, WOW!
My first concert, the first concert at the now closed down (thank God) Pontiac Silverdome.
Yup!!! She is history.
I saw them Dec 11/75 in Toronto at Maple Leaf Gardens .To this day still one of the most electrifying shows I have ever witnessed .
Me too.. I hit the Silverdome for this concert and made it back from BC and never mist the big show..
Guitar changes. Townsend used several different guitars throughout a show, so he numbered them, which made them easier to recognize in a dark venue.
Are you kidding me? What was it, some kind of a crime to have a damned camera on THE OX?!?
Dead right - the best bassist ever! Where was the ferkin' camera?
I agree. The camera work overall is cropped way too tightly overall.
This is footage is for the jumbo screen so the people in the nose bleed sections could see the show.
They could care less. It wasn't filmed for a release, just for the video screen.
the main reason Jeff Stein had two special shows filmed for the Kids are Alright. he was frustrated at the lack of camera time of the OX
note to musicians and aspiring musicians: look how tired they are. remember.
Complètement fou et génial. Vite une vidéo complète du concert !
The WHO....I love them. Saw them live, simply amazing sound you will never get on a stereo.
Great sustain on the LP Deluxe.
I saw them in new jersey, late 90s, they were a thrill
I was there. The stadium was freaking cold!. Great music though. I love Pete Townshend.
Ahh good ole #2...Detroit was always one of their favorite stops. I saw them, or at least 3/4 of them, at the Silverdome in '79. It was their first GA show after Cincinnati. Tension hung in the air, to say the least...
