mY gENERATION bLUES. thIS I S GREAT FOOTAGE of a fantastic Who gig. Some of it was used in the Jeff Stein film, THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT. I love this blazing rendition of JOIN TOGETHER.. best I ever heard of it live! In fact, I still have a dent in my pants from the first time I watched this jam when I got this dvd about 8 years ago!
THis is a nice copy and should appeal to WHO enthusiasts, and even I will come back to watch it when I need a nice Who-fix to brighten ( or make that BRIGHTON) a shitty day. THis is among the hottest WHO live videotaped material ever. It really doesn't get much better than this shitkickin' vid! Enjoy..J/M.

I was at this concert. It was very cold inside the Silverdome that night as the stadium was still not completely done yet. Parking lot was mud and it took like 4 hours to get out of stadium parking lot with one small two lane road out. What I do remember was how loud The WHO were that night. Supposedly this was the largest amount of sound equipment ever assembled at that time 1975 for a concert. Was like 85k people there. The bathrooms were just barely functional as they had to rush to have the stadium ready for that early December concert. We were about 50 yds from the stage on the main floor. We quickly learned after a few concerts that if you sat in the upper deck the acoustics in The Silverdome were terrible. The concert was great. Elvis played a New Years Even concert 3 weeks later in Dec 1975.

This, I think is one of the premiere performances of The Who. John, Roger, Keith, Pete have hit their stride, are at their prime. Pete and Keith are synchronized, leading and taking the cue from each other. The intensity of Townshend cannot be denied. Incredible.

I am glad WHO fans are enjoying this clip. I really do think it might be THE colest clip I have posted here at this channel. It's hard to beat Prime WHO during a heated performance-- and that is what this is, for sure! Prime WHO at their meanest, nastiest, and most delightful--- in particularly good quality, too! This has been getting a lot of hits lately. Thanks for all the nice. enthusiastic comments! Keep 'em coming. J/M.

Pete's jamming on this clip was always my favorite part of "The Kids Are Alright" album. This and the "Anyway Anyhow Anywhere" track and the "Sparks" at Woodstock track. Seriously, can a band get any better? I haven't seen any yet. Thanks for this great upload. Made my day!

One of the best concerts of the Who. This concert, Charlton 1974, and Woodstock. Ive learned this medley note for note on guitar. I love pete Townshend's guitar playing. I even bought a gold top les paul and put a number 2 sticker on it. Pete Townshend is my guitar hero!

I was at their concert at the Spectrum in Philadelphia on December 15th, 1975. What an incredible performance. Their rendition of Won't Get Fooled Again was so powerful!!! They showed multi colored laser lights on the Spectrum roof and then after the synthesizer solo, the brightest white light appears showing Daltry screaming at the edge of the stage. The crowd went nuts. What power with only three instruments being played. Long live The Who!!!!

@markknebel8923 I was too young in “75” but I loved reading about you’re experience at the Spectrum👍But I did catch The WHO in “82” at the old JFK Stadium and the sheer power that emanated from the stage🔊made me a Who fan for life!🎸

@phillyghost1256 I saw the Who 3 times. 1975 1979 and 1982. I was at that JFK performance in 82 .I didn't care for that concert. Their sound faded in and out since it was outdoors. There is no better band than the Who when it came to intensity. They
were so powerful, and energized the crowd so much.

@@markknebel8923 It was such a big stadium so I guess it depends how the sound effected you of wherever you we’re seated because I was halfway to the stage on the field on Pete’s side and from my experience I got blasted 💥 from the sound & the ground rumbled under my feet for the 2 plus hours of the show that they played! @@markknebel8923 I agree with you’re descriptive above ( The WHO unlike any other band especially live was electrifying when performing ) “ After the 82” show I saw The Who 10 more times with 2 Pete solo shows & 1 Roger solo concert”🎶 But I would trade in a couple of those shows to have seen one with Keith 🥁….Any specific memories do you have of Moon in the 75’ Spectrum show or any band member for that matter?

    • @markknebel8923

@@phillyghost1256 In the 75 concert, I remember that he flipped the drum sticks in the air. When he caught them, one of the sticks was caught upside down. He played on beat with that one stick that way. He also had a puzzled look on his face when it happened. Also, when they ended the 75 show with Won't Get Fooled Again, Keith kicked over his bass drum and threw the symbols to the ground. At the same time, Pete was smashing his guitar. A memory that I will never forget.

Hmm. Boy. Hard to tell...I too was at the Silverdome, just thought now to search for footage, duh...A lot of it seems very familiar, but that can happen on a tour with the same set list, some of the similar moves & stage business, etc. Still, their pretty cold attitude towards one another [we heard they fought a lot that night] plus some of the specific ways Roger sings & Pete shakes his guitar ring a bell. I haven't scanned every bit but if they ever show the audience, I'm right in front...with full on Daltrey perm at that point. Wow, what memories. Opening act was TOOTS & THE MAYTALS, paving the way for bands like the Clash getting more into reggae & ska music. The original garage rockers, THE WHO are BEST!!!

I remember in the early 70's, when a DJ could and would play numerous songs from any particular group. They'd play entire albums sides, and not make a big deal out of it. Today, u get 2 for tuesday, and u should be thankin the radio station...lol...there are plenty of great songs that alot of the fans aren't aware of by these great groups
