Some beautiful shells... love those pretty augers and the lace murexes. Those nutmegs were really big - what a great find! Angel wings are so delicate, I think you have to take what you can get a lot of the time. These two are very nice, even with a little broken piece, still a great find. Love the alphabet cone and gaudy - beautifully colored. And the milk conch - so pretty. I'll have to look that one up to learn more about it.
I love the hinged Ponderous Arc, it’s so beautiful when you consider how often we see it as a washed out white shell. Also, I think I may have identified one of my own mystery shells thanks to you, I think I have a Cancellate Semele, so thank you! Just a fabulous haul this week, I’m sure you really enjoyed your time out there on Dickmans!

What a great time!! There was a lot of shells to chose from. When I saw you pickup the Lightning Welk and saw the size, I felt as excited as you!!😂 I don’t know if anyone else sees this or maybe I’m the only one, but when you pickup a scallop shell, I see the alien from ID4. Hi how wonderful being able to walk along beach seeing all theese wonderful shells, I am a big shell lover , love collecting them, here in England we don't have as many beautiful shells like you have there. Thankyou for sharing your videos with everyone we love watching them.
Catching some of your videos that I missed. Gosh! I so hope you can get out and visit the undisturbed islands to enjoy your shelling. Ian was the worst and still causing such pain for so many. Lovely lovely Ft Myers and Sanibel. Best of luck and fast recovery!
Beautiful haul! Oh, the beauty in that alphabet cone ♥️. I’m headed back down from MI in three weeks. Hoping to explore a few new places this time around. In the meantime, I will live vicariously through your beach walks.

That was a very bleached out pear whelk ☺️ They do look VERY similar to paper figs but I was passing up a rather bleached shell. Whew! I'm always bummed when I miss something good!
I absolutely love "going to the beach"!! You are such fun and so knowledgeable. We were in Florida years ago visiting our in-laws. It was so beautiful, but really did no shelling. I now wish we had!! Thank you for sharing a lovely piece of Florida!!
At 18:20 saw a Wentletrap to the right of the busted shell with the mossy hair like stuff, I was hoping you'd see it. Oh well, next time! I like the way you focus close, I can stop the action to really practice looking for shapes and color, thanks!
That was one of those fly speck ceriths - I went back and saw it right away. They sure do look like wentletraps don't they? Thank you so much for coming to the beach with me!!
@@SWFBeachLife Do you make reservations for tours days in advance or wait until the day before? I plan to come in Oct and want to go to one of the other undeveloped islands. Should I make reservations this far in advance?
@@chrisbgifford7387 It depends on the time of year. The tours fill up in the winter but October you might be okay waiting a bit if you're plans aren't solid yet. I try to book at least a few weeks in advance but this time of year (Summer) I can usually also grab a tour last minute.
Ive been watching your videos since this summer. Ive started shelling a little more seriously up here in NYC, but I do micro shelling. I aim more for the shells that are no bigger than half my nail. I recently found a few new tiny shells I didnt even know we get up here, including a possible lightening whelk... its so much fun!! Hope I could one day make it down to florida to lie in the sand and shift for small shells. Love your vids, make my sundays relaxing!!

Thank God! I was saying, i hope she keeps that top of the Lighting Whelk top. It's GORGEOUS! I love it it looks like a swirled Top of a soft Ice-cream Chocolate and vanilla , GORGEOUS for a raft ppiece or just to sit on a display table. I LOVE that you kept it! So cool
Thank you so much for another visit to your beautiful beaches. It was really beautiful find’s as always. I think that angle wings was gorgeous even if it was a small crack in it, but it was whole. Dip it in a thin layer of resin and it will look gorgeous. Again thank you. I have seen this video 3 times 😍❣️
Have to agree. After school starts and before snowbirds is my favorite time of the year at Honeymoon too. Huge sand dollar at 8 min!! You'll think this is weird, but I actually have a hinged ponderous ark on display at my house that looks just like the one you picked up. There's something just cool about it - probably the contrast of the black and very white interior. Besides the wentletrap, I also found a nutmeg today. Very uncommon for here. Lol! I picked up 2 LW tops today too. I've done several crafty things with them. The oyster drill at 17 min was pretty pink inside. Wonder if it was a mauve-mouthed one? Shells have picked up a bit here too. It must have something to do with the storms is all I can think. Very beautiful big LW at 23 min! You found a couple of the biggest nutmegs I've ever seen! Wow!! That dark augur is awesome! Was that first big lace M as big as your other big one? It's a beauty! Looks like a great low tide afternoon!😊xxoo
That big lace wasn't as big as some other's I've found buy boy was it lacy! This is only my 2nd time of shelling this time of year and I swear last year it didn't pick up until October. That being said, I have taken a few East Coast trips and other trips where there really was little to nothing to find, so I might just be super grateful that there are shells at all - LOL! That was crazy you found a WT!! Maybe winter shelling arrived early this year. We can certainly hope!
I've thought about doing that! Draw a circle or a box and literally check out every single thing in that area. Who knows - maybe I'll do that one of these days!
I just got back from Gulf Shores. I actually found 2 lettered olives for the 1st time! A few scallops too. But mostly all I saw was the regulars. I hope to come down in your area next year to shell. Hope everyone has a great week 🙋💓
So yeah the second you picked up the top of that lightning welk I screamed "don't you put that back," so funny. Loved that first lace murex the nutmegs, the big olives, the sunray venus and omg who am I kidding? There is not a shell on the beach I don't like. Oh gosh that alphabet, my favorite! Thanks for a sweet adventure on Dickmans. I love that place. There and Kice are my absolute favorites.
Dickman's and Kice are so stinking awesome. I could go to either every day and never get bored. It was such a treat to have so many goodies to find on Dickman's this day. It really did feel like it was (almost) winter shelling - without the cold!!
I am so jealous. Up here in New Jersey were the most interesting Shell you find it’s just a beach clam. But I do put them in my flowers along the bed and that really looks nice. Can’t wait for your next adventure. Thank you again for taking us along.
This was fun to watch. I've always wanted to go shelling, but I have no idea when to go. Whenever I've went to a beach there are never any shells:( My family doesn't like the beach, so it's not a place I've been to very often, but finding beautiful shells is on my bucket list.

That piece of lighting whelk would look great here..and saving the beauty of angels wings may also br a milk conch.. if you find anothet.. I will take that one!!! Thank you thank you for taking us! Sadly someone else who I trust with shell IDs said it's probably not a milk conch - but I'm going to keep looking. It definitely looks different than a "regular" conch. I hope you have a fabulous week!
Hello! It’s been a hectic couple of weeks and now I’m catching up on my SWF Beach Life fix. What beautiful finds you came across that day; thank you for sharing. I’m curious about a shell at 28:58 next to that really cool, gorgeous purpley-black auger. What is the beautiful white shell to the right as you picked up the auger? Was it some kind of whelk? It almost looked iridescent in the light and I was mesmerized for a moment. It’s great to have the recommendation for a shelling tour guide as well. Maybe we’ll get to enjoy a tour with her when we’re there next time. As usual, you gave us a beautiful shell stroll; thanks SO much!
A couple people asked me about that bigger white shell - and you are correct! It's a bleached out pear whelk. These tours can really make a difference if you're trying to find shells in the slow summer months!

So cool
I KNEW I was going to hear it if I had left that at the beach! 😂
3 times?! Wowzer! Just hang in there - in a few months I should have oodles of shells to show you!
@@SWFBeachLife I look forward to it 😍
Love, love, love your videos❣️ Thank you for taking us to the beach with you.
You are so welcome!
I love your "lets go to the beach,". I got a book about Florida shells, but now i have you to tell me what i found a trip to Santibel ago.
Absolutely Loved the huge Nutmegs.. there were areas where I would have stopped & checked every shell in a 2 foot square.. Just so much Fun!
I've thought about doing that! Draw a circle or a box and literally check out every single thing in that area. Who knows - maybe I'll do that one of these days!
such a awesome time at the beach. thank you for inviting me along.
Thanks for coming
I sooo look forward to Shell Sunday videos !!! S, you are the BEST picker ! Thanks for sharing always. Woman, you are wonderful!!!!!
Aw - thank you so much for saying so and thank you so much for coming to the beach with me!
Those lightning whelks are stunning
Your knowledge of seashells is awesome❤
Wow! Looks like winter shelling! Beautiful shells.
I just got back from Gulf Shores. I actually found 2 lettered olives for the 1st time! A few scallops too. But mostly all I saw was the regulars. I hope to come down in your area next year to shell. Hope everyone has a great week 🙋💓
And so it was a good day ☀️
So yeah the second you picked up the top of that lightning welk I screamed "don't you put that back," so funny.
@@SWFBeachLife gosh Sharmon, me too, me too! Everyday rain or shine and never get tired of it!!
Thanks!
Lori thank you so much! Would it be okay to add your name at the end of my video with my Patreons? 🙏🏼
@@SWFBeachLife I would love that!
@@lorihoezee5353 Done starting next week. Thank you for being so awesome to me!
I had to watch this one twice! Love your adventures!💓
Thank you so much!! 🙏🏼
Fabulous scallops! And the colorful moon snail!
I love these videos! If I’m lucky I get to visit once a year. Your videos keep me going until my next visit!
WOW! Beautiful collection!
I am so jealous. Up here in New Jersey were the most interesting Shell you find it’s just a beach clam. But I do put them in my flowers along the bed and that really looks nice. Can’t wait for your next adventure. Thank you again for taking us along.
I feel your shell pain. I grew up in NJ and the only thing I ever found were the Northern quahog clams!
Oh Boy...!
This was fun to watch. I've always wanted to go shelling, but I have no idea when to go. Whenever I've went to a beach there are never any shells:( My family doesn't like the beach, so it's not a place I've been to very often, but finding beautiful shells is on my bucket list.
You can come "virtual shelling" with me every Sunday. I share all sorts of tips about when to go, where to park, etc. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you choose to come along with me in the future!
You my fav TH-camr. You teach me a lot! Thank you!🐚👏👍👍🤟
Yay! Can’t wait for the Fort Myers video! We are headed there in three weeks for our 10 year anniversary. Hoping to find some shells to bring home to the kiddos. They love watching your videos with me and learning about the different shells. :)
Thanks again! Like you said, such a variety of shells. 🤩
I am heading to this beach this weekend. I’m so excited you posted this.
Sharmon you know I am jealous that you found those olives. Lol. Beautiful! I’ll be back next year and hopefully will find a ton of chunky olives lol. Until then I will be here every Sunday
I can't resist those olives either! I hope you do find bunches next time you're here 😃
I love the sea shells I've been looking for seashells too
I didn’t hear what beach you are on.. I live NC love shells in fla. You found a lot of different varieties of shells! I haven’t been collecting that long but love to watch videos. I did find many shells sanibel island.. I hope go back fall. Thanks for such informative video. I enjoy learning names of shells.. Have great wk!,🐚🐚🐚🐚
What a find and absolutely gorgeous shells! I'm definitely keeping this beach in mind for my next Florida trip!
I am so happy you found the olives
Love your channel! :) I live in Tampa bay I'm going to Cayo Costa Island on Sat. then hitting Sanibel on Sun. Wish me luck! :) Blessings! :)
That sounds like shell heaven! I hope you have really good shell luck on your adventures! 🌴🌊🐚
Wow, what a wealth of shells! Very exciting, and very beautiful! Terrific outing!
17:32 there is a little yellow slipper(?) lower left side, to the right of the nacre, the little white shell above it looks like a wenteltrap to me
I see that texture but I'm not sure what that actually is. I sure hope it wasn't a wentletrap, but it could have been. I have found them in that area!
Hello Sharmon! Dickman's Island was good to you; shell after beautiful shell!
It's a treat to see the cleaned up shells!
I appreciate your Patrons, too!
P.S. virtual fist bump!
Thank you Carol! It really was such a treat to find so many treasures the time of year!
Oh my goodness!!! This wad a fabulous adventure! I ead dyong.. lol. Those nutmegs I could just about grab them and snd the alphabet and those augers! That piece of lighting whelk would look great here..and saving the beauty of angels wings may also br a milk conch.. if you find anothet.. I will take that one!!! Thank you thank you for taking us! Xo
Sadly someone else who I trust with shell IDs said it's probably not a milk conch - but I'm going to keep looking. It definitely looks different than a "regular" conch. I hope you have a fabulous week!
Beautiful shells! Thank you!
Awesome haul ma'am, thank you for the journey again.
Thanks for watching!
