Thanks, this seriously gave me a better perspective of the task i have at hand. Got mad at all the issues my 06 CRV gave me, especially after i lost oil pressure.

What model year was the CRV manufactured?

I have a 2010 CR-V that's having random oil pressure issues at start-up. I have basically done everything I can with it other than dropping the oil pan and replacing the pump. Might also be a clogged pickup tube. Maybe you could tell me what you think is going on.
My vehicle experiences a flashing oil light on some startups. When it's doing it the engine will knock. Restarting the engine will make the problem go away. It will take sometimes just one restart and other times I will have to do it multiple times before it runs okay. When it's not experiencing the issue, the engine will run just fine until I turn it off and restart it. It seems to happen with varying degrees for how bad the problem is on different startups. Sometimes the oil light only briefly lights up after the RPM's drop back down and other times the light will be fully lit up without me revving the engine. I really want to get this problem fixed before I end up damaging the engine.

Did you have to remove the subframe to get to only the gasket?

I was hoping to learn how to drop the subframe in more (any) detail.

... I cannot understand why my Honda CRV 2002 leaks with 3.5 litres of oil but not with 3 litres of oil ... I replaced many gaskets last year ... but not the oil pan gasket ... does this look like an oil pan gasket issue to you ??

verify where its leaking from - very common on high mileage crv’s, esp the 2nd generation such as 2002-2006, vtec solenoid or oil pressure switch can be leaking as well. just verify where leak is coming from then repair as necessary

Great video! Please tell me did the oil light come on? And in your opinion why do you think this only caused the pressure to drop in the top end and not the bottom?

Yes the oil light would occasionally flicker as well as the EPC light was coming on since the VTEC was inoperable. Both ends will have low pressure but the bottom end will typically have less oil starvation issues causing less damage.
