It's still wild to me that instead of an online client for the card game we got a comic about characters that play the card game using an online client....
This is actually what me & my brother were talking bout, give us some tcg online freeium stuff or another anime (should of been seekers) or the new series & tie it 2 tamers
That new Digivice just might be my dream Digimon merch piece! The nostalgic form factor, the colour screen, moving backgrounds, a 'story' seemingly working through the events of Adventure 99, cinematics (?!?!). Really pleased with that reveal :)
Same here! What I wanted from the SCSA this whole time, really hope they do a D-3 and D-Ark! Really disproved the "Digimon Con isn't for news" thing people like to throw around too lol
Honestly, the thing I’m looking forward to most is that “coming soon” information about the Digimon Story game. From what they showed at the event though, I’m most interested in Digimon Liberator.
Abandoning the Vital Braclet/BE memory baffles me. Really seems like that/swappable DIM cards should have been the next step/evolution of V-pets as a whole. (A Mobile V-pet game also would make a ton of sense and could make Bandai a buttload of money, but I'm not complaining about them avoiding exploitative mobile Gacha stuff, even if the franchise could use the funds...). As everybody else has said, really wish they'd prioritize the games more, too: Palworld etc shows there is interest in Monster catching titles, we said YEARS ago back during Dexit Digimon had a big opportunity to step up and they're just not doing it. Then there's the fact they're releasing all this light novel/literature but not giving them proper translations, etc. Really feels like Bandai just does not care about trying to make Digimon succeed.
It just feels like they have set into their one little niche they are in and have no plans to even try and be bigger. They have accepted that they won't catch up to Pokemon and they are just content with the fanbase they have and relying on them completely. Which is not a good thing in any way, we have seen with Pokemon what happens when a company becomes too content with it's playerbase. I just hope they will actually get stuff going later this year or the next. I really don't want them to just waste something like Digimon....
Yeah. As a TCG player, we were living. The reveals for the partner Digimon were great. Although, being an X men fan, Cendrillmon was giving me all of the Emma Frost energy.
@@Y0kAiS I think, for me, the blonde hair, the blue so light it’s practically white ensemble, the glass that is almost faceted like a diamond and the high fashion aesthetic makes me think “Ah yes, this is the White Queen of Digimon.”
@@Y0kAiS elegance, long blond hair, secondary power is "crystallization", and some of her artwork has extravagant fur coats that have the large fur collars. those are the connections i personally see. i honestly don't see Cinderella at all.
In terms of an anime, it could just be that no studio was willing to give it the proper time (no space in the airing schedule) so they're not announcing it until closer to the availability and release, instead of announcing a show and then leaving the fans in the dark about it for possibly years, which has happened
I'm guessing the reason they're doing so many webcomics, manga and novels is because the time slot for the anime will still be unavailable for a while. The great mission hasn't ended yet, and when it does the time slot will most likely be taken over by Dragon Ball Daima. Comics, manga and novels are also much cheaper to produce than anime and videogames. So that way they can keep telling Digimon stories despite all the restrictions.
As someone who grew up with pokemon and played their games when i was younger. I'm kind of gearing towards Digimon when I'm in my 20s now. As someone who likes visuel novels I started my first Digimon game two years ago called Digimon Survive I enjoyed that game. I went on to buy Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition when it was on special in steam for about 14.94 $ and I didn't regret it. I might even start watching Digimon seekers if it gets an adaption to anime.
Given that the anime montage was for all the series and not just Adventure, 'The Adventure Continues' likely implies that they do have a brand new Digimon anime in the works. Just, much like the new Story game, "It exists and we're working on it" is about all the info we have.
Me and my husband just took my son to see Digimon Adventures 02 The Beginning this evening. It was the final showing at my theater here in Canada and it was Japanese but we had a blast just the same.
Really cool thing extra about Cendrillmon is that in addition to her Chuchumon/Tyutyumon army, she has those little bluebirds… based on Sparrowmon! Not sure if they’re officially referred to as “BlueSparrowmon”, “PlushSparrowmon”, “ChibiSparrowmon/DemiSparrowmon”… but I love them

The Digivice 25th Anniversary Colour does connect to the Pendulum Colour as both logos were used in the connection graphic used at DigimonCon, despite only the DM Colour image being shown….. but both logos for the DMC & PenC were used. Also just saw 02 The Beginning last night as it finally debuted in Canadian cinemas so YAY! Got my Digivice 25th Colour preorder in, going for the orange Taichi one.
I've had a bit of a hectic year (visiting family, moving house etc) and Whatnot didn't extend my contract however I have streamed some card unboxings. Will try and do more when finances are more stable! I have some stuff on sale at Whatnot rn also lol

Having just seen Beginnings last night, I'm fully convinced there's going to be a new Adventure continuation. Whether it be a third movie, or some kind of Adventure 02:2, there's just too much left open ended to consider that finished... Although now that I type this out, that feels very on brand for 02, doesn't it? Oh dear...
Bandai has large model kit show coming up, they'll probably have a full reveal of the Paildramon kit then. I'm really excited for it after the Metalgreymon we got last year/
I think it could be an interesting idea if they made a video game that involves the digivice as part of the game, most games only mention it but the games rarely do more than that or let the player use it. There's quite a few different ways a digivice could be used in game.
Great vid. Though I would like to point out that the new Digivice toy isn't a vpet. Vpets typically have the gameplay loop where you raise the pet from egg to death.
I'd say it's definitely a vpet. It's only missing poop and (possibly) sleep. It may not be a traditional Digital Monster-style vpet but it's as much a virtual pet (as in the concept outside of just Digimon) as the Vital Bracelet was
I get where your coming from but I gotta disagree. The Viatal Bracelet was a vpet due to its need for food (your vitals), it’s progression, and it’s ability do die due to lack of care. This new toy is a neat overhaul of the pedometer adventure toys but it’s still not a traditional vpet. Similar for sure and some people like both but the distinction does legit matter to us virtual pet enthusiasts.
I feel like Impmon will have a new evolution line completely. The reason I say this is because they blocked out the evo boxes. I feel if it was to change into Bellstar or Beeleza they would've just shown either one of those forms in the last box on the website.
I wonder if the Digimon company is waiting to see what web novel or comic does really well first, then make an anime adaptation once they know they have something people new to the franchise and old will like? Same as how when a manga or light novel gets really popular it’s a no brainer to turn that into an anime to get more focus on it. Like if Liberator does well enough that’ll be the next anime that gets made. Unless maybe Seekers did well enough that it’ll soon get an anime first.
That's a possible theory. I kinda believe Toei/Bandai weren't happy with how Ghost Game and Digimon Adventure turned out in terms of looks and are waiting for some anime to end or new talent is hired. Given that Toei is working a quite few anime and there is the new Dragon Ball anime coming out this year, they wait till next year for a new anime. This does not apply to the movies.
As cool as that sounds, I don't really believe that will happen, we haven't gotten an anime based on a manga yet for digimon, at least not to my knowledge. I would really love animated seekers tho I think that would be awesome
I adore the Pteramon line. Although I know they won't be I would love them in the next game or a partner in the next anime (which could've just been Liberator too). I will just pronounce Zephagamon as close to zephyr as I can.
I agree. The fact that the "pha" in the Digimon's name is elongated in Japanese (ゼファーガモン "Zefaagamon") leads me to believe that the name is implied to be *Zephyrgamon.*
A pretty tame year, but it was a fun time. The VAs were very cute as were the stories with Volcano Ota. The Game piano medley was incredible and it was great to learn more about Liberator and see the digivolutions. The Agumon Vtuber was a neat idea but they didnt have any English for it. And the Anime Anniversary video was cool, but it rubs me the wrong way that Savers-Ghost Game barely got any footage and didnt have their songs play :/ It really sucks if they're just killing off the VB. Especially if/when they shut down the app because so many people have spent money on DiMs and BE Memories. And there's no reaosn they can't just release more periodically! If/when the app dies then I hope there's a fan effort to preserve the VB at least. Really dont want to lose all those mons.
Liberator looks interesting and I'll likely check out out. I honestly just wished we had another anime already No new news on the vitabrace is heartbreaking because I absolutely LOVED the interface and system allowing me to store digimon on the phone (although it sucks not having a phone that lets me use the signal to connect the app to my brace) As for the tcg syncing up japanese releases with the rest of the world. I like it, but I am weary. No other card game has ever attempted this and Im worried about the negative effects that could come from trying to make every country's release cycle sync up together One last thing, I hope this mext story game is a good one. As always I hope the game plays like a competitive capture monster like pokemon. Its something Ive wanted ever since i got into digimon as a child
I think it's really cool that Digimon has been focusing so much on stuff like webnovels & mangas to help tide over the dry spell of no new animated projects. (And who knows when are next anime might be? If it's as long as say the jump between Frontier to Savers or Xros Wars to Appmon was, I really think these yearly novels & comics might be what the franchise needs to keep the fandom at least talking with no running anime and no new game info currently.) My only thing that I'm worried about is the possible continued use of MTL like in Seekers which just hurts the reputation of the whole project. (Since that the most amount of talk that story got wasn't about the character or the world was rather just how bad the translation was and how confusing it made the whole experience.)
Even if they do leaved the Vital Bracelet behind, I do hope that they will keep using Pulsemon from time to time, he's my favorite boy u_u Also, I'm the only one surprised that they never thought of fusing Impmon and Pulsemon to create Impulsemon?
A part of me thinks Digimon Liberator being a comic instead of a show might come down to how exactly they want it to utilize the card game. Y’know like, are the characters playing the game for real for the fights, or is it just kind of a set up for how the characters meet their Digimon like how the Tamers kids played the Digimon tcg of their era? And if they are playing the game; how much detail with that do they want to go in to? Do they want to do it like Yugioh & play out whole turns while showing off exactly which Agumon card the Greymon player is using, or would they rather do a Bakugan thing where they brush past that so that way every Pteromon card that’ll ever come out is equally Shoto’s Pteromon? Some of those are easier to do in a webcomic while others are easier in an anime. (Of course it could come down to budget too. Who can say?)
Hearing that the Vital Bracelet might be dead makes me sad. I actually enjoyed and like the VBBE despite the hate that it and the app gets. Maybe my tastes are just terrible or something 😅. Am looking forward to Digimon Liberator though. Can't wait to see more new Digimon.
My big theory with the new impmon is that itll connect to the lore we just got for pteromons evos in that the ultimate and mega are now the 2nd and 3rd members of the Vortex Warriors, are part of the witchelny lore and have a strong bond with Medieval gallant/dukemon. If the webcomic and webnovel are linked like everyone expects then a very likely line for the impmon is to have it be the full witchelny line of impmon tow wizardmon to mistymon and ending off on medieval gallant/dukemon making it both a lore connected mon to pteromon while also having it be a thematic unification of the gallant/dukemon and beelzemon rivalry.
I need the secret unlockables like Vdramon on the v25color. And I need them to get to the D3 super color edition and include movie Terriermon. I’m not asking for *that* much. 😅
Hm, i see, how very interesting, I gotta say, i think the Webcomic, Web-Novel and Game News might’ve been what I am most interested in out of all of these News, I hope they all turn out well and does well, will look forward to it.
A new webcomic, a new web novel, and a new manga all coming this year is crazy. Outside of how whack no new anime for an anniversary is, this is a great year for people who really care about Digimon. Just kinda sucks since new anime like 2020 and GG are the type to bring new fans into the franchise, and that’s missing. The mainstream won’t ever care about a Digimon manga, but maybe a new anime will catch attention. Really sucks.
In some ways it's good for people who "really" love Digimon but I think that it's also gonna dwindle down the amount of people still caring about Digimon. Also if those webcomics/manga are poorly translated then that's not a win for anyone. Hoping this is a fun year regardless.

Digimon v Pokémon...... FIGHT!!! that should be a TV show or movie. I think digimon would win hands down just bc especially when they get to their higher evo tier the attacks are just so savage.

Honestly, with the reveal of Pteromon's full line, I might have a new favorite digimon line, right up there with Liollmon, Vorvomon, Luxmon, and Blucomon's lines. Plus, Cendrillmon is a fantastic alternate mega for Angewomon. Hey, maybe if Liberator does well enough, it could get adapted into an anime, like how Yugioh was adapted.
I'll never get the "it's just a celebration event for the franchise, don't expect any annoucements" from people when two years ago we got the PV for survive that got released like two months after that, last year we got the annoucement of seekers and this year all the tcg stuff with manga announcements of bandai releasing like a pseudo anthalogy with digimon stories, they may be major or irrelevant news depending to who you ask but we got annoucements either way, saying it's just a celebration is just a cope when they annoucements are not what we expected. I personally wanted an anime announcement for the 25th anniversary or some PV for the Story game :( Also this doesn't have to do with anything but I it made me so happy to see Omegamon in 6th place, not even in top the 3, and I wish he was even lower lol
The only chinese thing shown at a pokemon direct was gen 2 being added to quest.. digimon could use lots of mobile support (tcg and non tcg games and maybe a bunch of other things)

It would be Wild if we do get some news about the new digimon story game in April because then that would be a pretty funny early birthday gift to me because that's my birthday gift to me because that's my birthday month lol. Other than that it really does feel like that this year is just gonna be based around the card game and the Web novels and that's pretty much yet so not much in terms of games and the anime though I did like that cool anime montage of all the previous series. It honestly made me tear up like a little kid and a little bit angry because certain ones popped up and I'm like you had so much potential or stop giving us so much adventure stuff or I want to like you but I can't. Great job looking into this Karn and hey, at least we got another new waifu mon lol. I'll at least take that as good news.
So...I do love Digimon anime, and I really wish we had some news on an upcoming anime, but considering this is Bandai, who also own Gundam, I can see them letting the next one cook longer. Gundam can go years between anime, like 3-4 or so years between them. So I can see the heads of Bandai of wanting to do that for Digimon. Now another Movie is like...a guarantee at this point, but those usually rake a bit, so I'm not surprised they would hold out for now.
So how reliable is zenintcg? Like if I order through them will my stuff come on time and not damaged and what not? I’ve never ordered through them but I’m planning on getting all 3 digivices through them

Given Survive's development and the lack of insight during that 4 year period, I do have faith that they are cooking and will actually deliver. Does it suck that it's taking this long? Yes. Is it annoying to not know anything about progress? Absolutely. But at least we can rest assured that SOMETHING is happening in the kitchen.
It’s a shame we won’t get any more DiMs after Seekers, we never got to finish Savers Dims after Holy Wings and Forest Guardians. I hope we’re still getting Wave 2 for Pendulum Color.
I'm just going to hold on to hope that the vital bracelet is just going through a drought. Maybe they're making a new model of bracelet or new app and they don't want to release new cards until its out, or something. The VB is what got me back into digimon, I'll keep holding onto it and my collection of digimon until it dies
I preordered the basic Digivice for 72€ and the WargreymonX for 36€ on Okiniland^^ Maybe imma get MetalGarurumon too. And I very much hope the VB is not dead, I love it so much and I only need 3 more DIMs to complete the whole Digimon collection. TCG...I'd love to collect, but I couldn't get one finished and I'm still on BT1-8 and idk if I just should get going even with uncompleted collections...

Digimon Adventure 02 reboot, it kinda makes sense
Adventure is truly becoming the MMPR of Digimon.
Having just seen Beginnings last night, I'm fully convinced there's going to be a new Adventure continuation. Whether it be a third movie, or some kind of Adventure 02:2, there's just too much left open ended to consider that finished... Although now that I type this out, that feels very on brand for 02, doesn't it? Oh dear...

Bandai has large model kit show coming up, they'll probably have a full reveal of the Paildramon kit then. I'm really excited for it after the Metalgreymon we got last year/
I think it could be an interesting idea if they made a video game that involves the digivice as part of the game, most games only mention it but the games rarely do more than that or let the player use it. There's quite a few different ways a digivice could be used in game.
Great vid. Though I would like to point out that the new Digivice toy isn't a vpet. Vpets typically have the gameplay loop where you raise the pet from egg to death.
I'd say it's definitely a vpet. It's only missing poop and (possibly) sleep. It may not be a traditional Digital Monster-style vpet but it's as much a virtual pet (as in the concept outside of just Digimon) as the Vital Bracelet was
I get where your coming from but I gotta disagree. The Viatal Bracelet was a vpet due to its need for food (your vitals), it’s progression, and it’s ability do die due to lack of care. This new toy is a neat overhaul of the pedometer adventure toys but it’s still not a traditional vpet. Similar for sure and some people like both but the distinction does legit matter to us virtual pet enthusiasts.
I feel like Impmon will have a new evolution line completely. The reason I say this is because they blocked out the evo boxes. I feel if it was to change into Bellstar or Beeleza they would've just shown either one of those forms in the last box on the website.
I wonder if the Digimon company is waiting to see what web novel or comic does really well first, then make an anime adaptation once they know they have something people new to the franchise and old will like? Same as how when a manga or light novel gets really popular it’s a no brainer to turn that into an anime to get more focus on it. Like if Liberator does well enough that’ll be the next anime that gets made. Unless maybe Seekers did well enough that it’ll soon get an anime first.

That's a possible theory. I kinda believe Toei/Bandai weren't happy with how Ghost Game and Digimon Adventure turned out in terms of looks and are waiting for some anime to end or new talent is hired. Given that Toei is working a quite few anime and there is the new Dragon Ball anime coming out this year, they wait till next year for a new anime. This does not apply to the movies.
As cool as that sounds, I don't really believe that will happen, we haven't gotten an anime based on a manga yet for digimon, at least not to my knowledge. I would really love animated seekers tho I think that would be awesome
I missed the P Bandai preorder for the DX Digivice so I had to get it elsewhere for a bit more but it's worth it

I adore the Pteramon line. Although I know they won't be I would love them in the next game or a partner in the next anime (which could've just been Liberator too). I will just pronounce Zephagamon as close to zephyr as I can.
I agree. The fact that the "pha" in the Digimon's name is elongated in Japanese (ゼファーガモン "Zefaagamon") leads me to believe that the name is implied to be *Zephyrgamon.*
A pretty tame year, but it was a fun time. The VAs were very cute as were the stories with Volcano Ota. The Game piano medley was incredible and it was great to learn more about Liberator and see the digivolutions. The Agumon Vtuber was a neat idea but they didnt have any English for it. And the Anime Anniversary video was cool, but it rubs me the wrong way that Savers-Ghost Game barely got any footage and didnt have their songs play :/
It really sucks if they're just killing off the VB. Especially if/when they shut down the app because so many people have spent money on DiMs and BE Memories. And there's no reaosn they can't just release more periodically!
If/when the app dies then I hope there's a fan effort to preserve the VB at least. Really dont want to lose all those mons.
Liberator looks interesting and I'll likely check out out. I honestly just wished we had another anime already
No new news on the vitabrace is heartbreaking because I absolutely LOVED the interface and system allowing me to store digimon on the phone (although it sucks not having a phone that lets me use the signal to connect the app to my brace)
As for the tcg syncing up japanese releases with the rest of the world. I like it, but I am weary. No other card game has ever attempted this and Im worried about the negative effects that could come from trying to make every country's release cycle sync up together
One last thing, I hope this mext story game is a good one. As always I hope the game plays like a competitive capture monster like pokemon. Its something Ive wanted ever since i got into digimon as a child

I think it's really cool that Digimon has been focusing so much on stuff like webnovels & mangas to help tide over the dry spell of no new animated projects. (And who knows when are next anime might be? If it's as long as say the jump between Frontier to Savers or Xros Wars to Appmon was, I really think these yearly novels & comics might be what the franchise needs to keep the fandom at least talking with no running anime and no new game info currently.)
My only thing that I'm worried about is the possible continued use of MTL like in Seekers which just hurts the reputation of the whole project. (Since that the most amount of talk that story got wasn't about the character or the world was rather just how bad the translation was and how confusing it made the whole experience.)
Even if they do leaved the Vital Bracelet behind, I do hope that they will keep using Pulsemon from time to time, he's my favorite boy u_u
Also, I'm the only one surprised that they never thought of fusing Impmon and Pulsemon to create Impulsemon?

A part of me thinks Digimon Liberator being a comic instead of a show might come down to how exactly they want it to utilize the card game.
Y’know like, are the characters playing the game for real for the fights, or is it just kind of a set up for how the characters meet their Digimon like how the Tamers kids played the Digimon tcg of their era? And if they are playing the game; how much detail with that do they want to go in to? Do they want to do it like Yugioh & play out whole turns while showing off exactly which Agumon card the Greymon player is using, or would they rather do a Bakugan thing where they brush past that so that way every Pteromon card that’ll ever come out is equally Shoto’s Pteromon?
Some of those are easier to do in a webcomic while others are easier in an anime.
(Of course it could come down to budget too. Who can say?)
Hearing that the Vital Bracelet might be dead makes me sad. I actually enjoyed and like the VBBE despite the hate that it and the app gets. Maybe my tastes are just terrible or something 😅. Am looking forward to Digimon Liberator though. Can't wait to see more new Digimon.

My big theory with the new impmon is that itll connect to the lore we just got for pteromons evos in that the ultimate and mega are now the 2nd and 3rd members of the Vortex Warriors, are part of the witchelny lore and have a strong bond with Medieval gallant/dukemon. If the webcomic and webnovel are linked like everyone expects then a very likely line for the impmon is to have it be the full witchelny line of impmon tow wizardmon to mistymon and ending off on medieval gallant/dukemon making it both a lore connected mon to pteromon while also having it be a thematic unification of the gallant/dukemon and beelzemon rivalry.
Also if this idea seems cool to you and you wanted to use it in part of a future video you 110% have my blessing ❤

A new webcomic, a new web novel, and a new manga all coming this year is crazy. Outside of how whack no new anime for an anniversary is, this is a great year for people who really care about Digimon. Just kinda sucks since new anime like 2020 and GG are the type to bring new fans into the franchise, and that’s missing. The mainstream won’t ever care about a Digimon manga, but maybe a new anime will catch attention. Really sucks.
In some ways it's good for people who "really" love Digimon but I think that it's also gonna dwindle down the amount of people still caring about Digimon. Also if those webcomics/manga are poorly translated then that's not a win for anyone.
Hoping this is a fun year regardless.

Honestly, with the reveal of Pteromon's full line, I might have a new favorite digimon line, right up there with Liollmon, Vorvomon, Luxmon, and Blucomon's lines. Plus, Cendrillmon is a fantastic alternate mega for Angewomon.

I'll never get the "it's just a celebration event for the franchise, don't expect any annoucements" from people when two years ago we got the PV for survive that got released like two months after that, last year we got the annoucement of seekers and this year all the tcg stuff with manga announcements of bandai releasing like a pseudo anthalogy with digimon stories, they may be major or irrelevant news depending to who you ask but we got annoucements either way, saying it's just a celebration is just a cope when they annoucements are not what we expected.
I personally wanted an anime announcement for the 25th anniversary or some PV for the Story game :(

It would be Wild if we do get some news about the new digimon story game in April because then that would be a pretty funny early birthday gift to me because that's my birthday gift to me because that's my birthday month lol. Other than that it really does feel like that this year is just gonna be based around the card game and the Web novels and that's pretty much yet so not much in terms of games and the anime though I did like that cool anime montage of all the previous series. It honestly made me tear up like a little kid and a little bit angry because certain ones popped up and I'm like you had so much potential or stop giving us so much adventure stuff or I want to like you but I can't. Great job looking into this Karn and hey, at least we got another new waifu mon lol. I'll at least take that as good news.
So...I do love Digimon anime, and I really wish we had some news on an upcoming anime, but considering this is Bandai, who also own Gundam, I can see them letting the next one cook longer. Gundam can go years between anime, like 3-4 or so years between them. So I can see the heads of Bandai of wanting to do that for Digimon. Now another Movie is like...a guarantee at this point, but those usually rake a bit, so I'm not surprised they would hold out for now.
Hopefully they're working on some big anime project and game behind the scenes. (Huffs copium)

I'm debating on getting one of the matt and Tai ones. I'm at a cross roads whether I want that or a D3. But if I split my next few checks right, I should be able to get both... Assuming I can do that.

Given Survive's development and the lack of insight during that 4 year period, I do have faith that they are cooking and will actually deliver. Does it suck that it's taking this long? Yes. Is it annoying to not know anything about progress? Absolutely. But at least we can rest assured that SOMETHING is happening in the kitchen.

And I very much hope the VB is not dead, I love it so much and I only need 3 more DIMs to complete the whole Digimon collection. TCG...I'd love to collect, but I couldn't get one finished and I'm still on BT1-8 and idk if I just should get going even with uncompleted collections...
