I think it would be incredibly helpful if we could create sub-labels within main labels. This would allow for a more granular organization of notes, especially for those with complex projects or tasks. But...
You mean have nested tags. Think you can have more than one tag though. You could maybe name them in a sense that makes it easy for you to understand they're related.
*_Thank you so much for sharing this. Who would have thought that this simple step make a world of difference? This is one of the reasons I leaned away from Google Keep and tried other apps. Would def consider this._*
I've been doing this for a while and it is nice to have a clean page. There is one down side though - if you are using the sidebar in Docs or Gmail, the keep panel only shows the home page notes and I haven't yet found an option to load tags from the side bar.
Great video Scott, just come over to Keep from the other mob, really helped me get used to Keep, loved the fact you can archive and not lose anything. SO HELPFUL and thanks again.😁👏🙏
Something worth mentioning. I personally put all my notes in labels and then archive each note so there is a place to see all my notes at once but also have a notes section that is blank and ready to go. But once your notes are in labels and not in the notes section, they can no longer be rearranged. This is only possible with the notes you leave in the main notes section.
This is really interesting. Archiving does, however, impact using the pin (at least the way I've used it in past). I use labels to group lists (and a number of my lists have multiple labels if I want a particular lists grouped more than one way). I've used the pin to separate the lists I use most often within a label category. When I archived everything, it removed the pins, which I didn't expect. If I re-pin a list, it unarchives it and it seems like using the pin is impactful only in the Notes folder. Because the Notes folder is the default, using it as a set of lists I'll need to access in the short term is nice. This gives me some good ideas for maybe using Keep a little differently than I have in past. Great video!!
That's a pretty good idea for me - and my *73* different labels and 1100 notes. I've been using Keep for a few years now - and since then I've accumulated a lot of labels & notes
Nice tip.. I've always used a lot of labels (I have paid Google account, not sure how many but seems I have a LOT of ability to create tons of labels...) and personally I never both to even look at that 'Notes' homescreen, I find it less than worthless. I just go to one of my label/folders below. I have found over the years that putting a few hours into Keep and a little creativity it can completely replace most note taking apps for me, I'd guess for other people too.
The dnote app has exactly this function, you can leave quick notes on the home screen and on the side leave specific notes within "folders" without having to archive each note, because inside the folder it gives you the option of not showing it on the home screen, and the design his is the same as keep but he is paid
1 problem remains. You can’t add a pdf file to a Keep note. Is possible in all other note taking apps. But they don’t have OCR that Keep has in pictures (except Evernote)
Unfortunately, Google Keep reminders no longer automatically show up in Google Calendar. This functionality was recently removed by Google. However, there is a future integration planned: Google Keep reminders are being migrated to Google Tasks. Once migrated, you'll be able to see your Keep reminders in Tasks, which will be accessible from both Google Calendar and the Tasks app. There's no official date for when this will be complete, but it's expected to happen within the next year.
I've been doing this for a while, everything that I archive basically gets organised and sorted then i can access it from the labels. Everything unarchived still needs to be sorted. I usually clean it up every week. Keep is great for a quick note taking app but i wish it had formatting on the web version, pdf's and folders
No, Google Keep currently doesn't support creating sub-labels or nested labels within labels. This means you can't organize your notes in a hierarchical structure. However, there are a few workarounds you can try to achieve a similar effect: Use Label Names Creatively: You can include a hierarchy within the label names themselves. For example, instead of a label named "Work," you could have labels named "Work - Client Meetings" or "Work - Project Ideas." Multiple Labels: Google Keep allows adding multiple labels to a single note. This lets you categorize notes across different categories. Color Coding: Utilize the color-coding feature in Keep to visually distinguish notes belonging to a specific category, even if they share the same label name.

I agree, having at least one more level would be very useful.

Thank you!! Game changer.
I'm so glad to hear that!

Thank you for the great tip! ❤

Hi Scott, do you know of a way to create folders AND sub folders of that level 1 folders in KEEP.?.
Unfortunately, Google Keep doesn't have a native feature to create folders and subfolders.
I have made some fairly lengthy notes which runs out of characters. Do you how to enlarge a note?
How do you get it to convert to tasks on google calendar?
Thankyou so much...😊😊😊
That's a helpful tip. Thanks
You bet! Thanks for watching!

Are there any “select all” shortcuts for iPhone app users?
Sorry, but such a shortcut is not currently possible on iPhone.

Thanks for sharing your experience with this method. Yes, more formatting options would be helpful.

Such videos should be as shorts because you already have covered almost the same in the past.
It’s a key feature, worth repeating, totally changed how I used the program
Indeed, please repeat as necessary.

Not sure he agrees .
That’s great advice for when you have your own TH-cam channel to manage.
Really good to know.
Glad you think so!
can you create sub-labels??
Wouldn't just pinning the notes achieve the same effect?
Pinning a note will Unarchive it automatically. But if you unpin that note, it will remain unarchived. Is that what you mean?
Omg..we have the same way of organizing notes... Btw i have a 4th label which is "relatives/friends"
Thanks so much for sharing!
