The wire on a TOW missile basically makes it to where the only thing that can influence the direction of the missile is the gunner. Imagine it being hardwired because of that wire in it. It can't be put off target like heat seekers by flares or chaff. Basically where you aim it is where it will go no exceptions.
7:09 So the Bradley is equiped with a TOW Missile, which means "Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided" these missiles aren't fire and forget missiles, these are wire guided as the name says. So how it works is you would put your sights on the target, fire the missile and then you keep the the sights on the target so the missile knows where to go and to track the target if the target moves, the wire is the link from the sights to the missile's guidance mechanism so the missile knows where its going, this is why the Bradleys had to stay still when firing their missiles, so the sights could keep the lock and so the wires didn't break and the missile few off randomly. Actually some submarine torpedo's were wire guided as well, though i don't know if they still use those models.
16:58 The Bradley isn't actually meant to engage like this, this is kind of worst case senario for them were they have tanks and infantry together in a close range knife fight, usually vehicals like the Bradley only engages infantry and other IFV's (Infantry Fighting Vehicals), which the autocannon can typically deal with, if they are engaging tanks they are usually meant to be at range in locations they are meant to be able to dart into cover to reload from safely. This is why the two Bradleys engaging and destroying the T-90 is so embaressing for the Russians that fight was totally outside the Bradleys comfort zone, in fact that was actually worse case for them yet they still disabled the T-90 and weren't taken out in kind.
11:05 I think its case of people going bigger means best, the Iraqi army was certianly the 4th LARGEST in the world and maybe people conflating the two or maybe its a case of chinese whispers.
yarnhub videos are always a banger, especially with their current quality of production, would be rad if you checked out their vid on the most succesful fighter ace, erich hartmann
The problem with the Iraqis wasn't a lack of technology even though coalition forces possessed a meaningful tech advantage. The problem with the Iraqi's was that they were Arabs and Arabs are only good as insurgents, not regular warfare.
"They got us outnumbered... sucks to be them!"

You know it's going to be epic, when the unit is called Eagle Group! 😎 🇺🇲
I mean technically an AK-47 can penetrate an Abram’s armor but it’s going to probably take every 7.62 ever made to get through the armor
What do they don't say about the battle of 73 Easting is that Colonel Douglas McGregor was a part of that for obvious reasons.
You said that animation is better. I dont know why but faces and mouth animation are my pet peeves. It still makes me twitch lol
In the words of HabitualLinecrosser "That TOW missile, it FUCKS."
He's never cleaned up a range with tow wire everywhere. Grab a stick and wind, Tow's suck🤣
