    Thank you! This gives me a bit more confidence to find a used pair for my “regular” F150.

    My 21 Jeep has Fox shocks. They require maintenance as I contacted Fox.

    Drywall screw in the center of the plug work the best, pulls it right now.

      That was my original thought as well. But it did not prove out when I did the trouble shooting.

    I'd reccomend not loosening the bleeders before dumping the res pressure with the needle.

    Very good video, maybe somebody can give me a hint where to buy rebuilt kit?

    • @The-Old-Dude
      @The-Old-Dude  ปีที่แล้ว

      Check out my part 2 video, I go into detail on the rebuild kits. Or go to this website - www.schmidtyracing.com/off-road-seal-kits-s/1864.htm pricing varies by kit and they also carry the tools I needed and talked me through the options on the phone.

    I bought the Fox 3.0 upgraded shocks... Thinking about Refurbishing the factory shocks and selling them to offset the cost of the upgrade

      Rebuild them for later. Let me know how the 3.0's work.

    I need to rebuild my front shock. Do you accept orders to repair them or do you know of someone who could?

    • @The-Old-Dude
      @The-Old-Dude  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry.no, I barely have time to keep my own truck up on maintenance. But you could talk with Texas Shock Works, they do good work. Another one that sounds promising is call “Shocks By Hammer” their website is at www.shocksbyhammer.com
      I like their approach because They have a shock exchange program for both Gen1 and Gen2 shocks.they will send you rebuilt shock and after you swap them you send your old ones back in. Limited down time is a plus.
      I have personally never used ether and am not affiliated with either of these companies, but alway hear good things about them.
      Good luck, I will be doing an update on my shocks soon. Life has been busy.

    How different are the 2nd gen raptor shocks compared to the first gen? I'm aware they're bigger in diameter but is the rebuilding process exactly the same?

    • @The-Old-Dude
      @The-Old-Dude  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not the best person to ask as I have only rebuilt my own shocks. Some day I will get a new truck. That being said i would not think they are that different internally. They do have remote reservoirs and adjustable valving to be concerned with.

      Yes, they’re the same

    • @jameswood7349
      @jameswood7349 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not the same, rebuild process is much more difficult. My buddy’s shop rebuilds 20-30 sets a week, a mix of gen 1 and 2.

    Just an FYI - you can find the shocks new for less than half of the price that you mention in your vid. Quick search online...

    • @The-Old-Dude
      @The-Old-Dude  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can buy them, I would. Ether way you would need to repeat the purchase in 50k miles or purchase the front set as well.

    That is small piston for 2.5 shock, about same size as bilstein 5100

    • @EnglertRacing96
      @EnglertRacing96 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sure is, that's because of the tube in tube design of these internal bypass shocks.

      I will have to take your work for it.

      In the 3rd video in this series I cover the tools and supplies I used in this rebuild video = Ford Raptor Rear Fox Shocks Fill & Pressure - about 3/4 of the way through if I remember.
