    Anna Kendrick knows how to handle personalites like Blake Lively. Anna also refuses to play the bullying/exclusion game so a repeat of the bullying situation would have bee impossible. It's possible only with an accomplice.

      @@martheandellenshowShe’s also a washed up actor who has stood by the likes of Woody Allen!! Who ended up grooming and marrying his stepdaughter! Parker, Posey and Blake lively both played in that movie where they were mean to the same interviewer! Blake has also stood by Harvey Weinstein during the me to movement and against the survivors so that should tell you all you need to know about her! This new movie is just another example of how she took a very serious situation and made it into a joke! She’s always been this way. It’s just now coming out about her behavior. Don’t forget the whole getting married at a plantation and her doing the antebellum era photo shoot, which is problematic in itself! She’s an awful person and she’s not all that talented. If you ask me, she just has the backs of her husband Ryan Reynolds to help her when she gets into sticky situation so to speak.

    I don’t think she was trying to be nicer to the interviewer, or to look more humble to save face in response to the way she treated the interviewer previously. Blake stayed fairly quiet this time in comparison to her other interviews, and my theory is because Anna can hold her own. Usually Blake says inappropriate things, her coworkers stay quiet in response, so she keeps on running her mouth; but Anna is quick with a comeback, and can put Blake back into place. Blake most likely knew to keep her mouth shut.

    • @amerryamerry
      @amerryamerry 6 ปีที่แล้ว +254

      Yeah, I get it. I still get very uncomfortable though. It's part of their job, and it's imo unprofessional to behave like that. It's okay to laugh and joke, but this sort of humor is a suppression technique. It excludes the third person and makes them look stupid when they don't "get it". Yet the third person can't do anything about it. Even if it wasn't the actual case here, it still just gives me bad vibes. Humor is subjective.

    • @PlaceForAnEcho
      @PlaceForAnEcho 6 ปีที่แล้ว +122

      Mari H yes, humor is subjective. Glad you noted that. I’m a fan of sarcasm and wit. I don’t find them unprofessional. I think it’s their personalities. Especially Kendrick who is very snarky and self deprecating. She reminds me of Tina Fey. I like them both. But EVERYTHING is subjective.

      Blake probably didn't even remember the last one. They do hundreds of these a year. I don't have a dog in the fight (for non English speakers, it just means I'm not picking side and don't really care about the outcome) but it seems like in the first interview, Blake was maybe a bit sensitive about the costuming question. Maybe they get it all the time, maybe she felt it was low hanging fruit and wanted to talk about things more interesting. To push the point a little more, I know that most women don't like pickup lines about things they can't control like, "You have beautiful eyes." So to start in right away about appearance versus how great they were in the role, the chemistry they had with costars, etc., seemed a bit vapid. Blake and Parker could have taken a different tack and lightened up a bit, but who knows how many interviews and costume questions they'd gotten before this interview.
      I thought this newer interview one was fine. They engaged with Kjersti more, made eye contact, had a bit of fun, and went on their way. Hand shakes and jewelry appreciation took place. If Blake was upset at all, it didn't seem like it. Maybe next time, Kjersti can do more research and ask more thought provoking questions instead of shallow ones and get some more engagement. If she hasn't seen what good interview questions looks like, maybe watch some Sean Evans "Hot Ones" segments.

But this isn’t isolated behavior from her. She’s been rude in many interviews with a variety of different people and at times when she was likely not pregnant (obviously we can’t know definitively, but the number of instances suggests that she couldn’t have been pregnant for all of them). I don’t necessarily think she is aware of just how mean she is being, but I personally think she is used to being able to say things and get away with it by taking advantage of other people’s sense of decorum during interactions such as an interview.

      Honestly shes not the best interviewer. She seems anxious and unsettled. I think Blake's response was to talk to Anna since the interviewer is not saying much or adding to the conversation and kind of sits there awkwardly throughout. As an interviewer you need to have more control of the conversation and be prepared with questions beforehand. Being an interviewer is also like being a celebrity your a public figure and need thick skin and go with the flow of conversation and be confident about speaking. Lack and hesitation of speaking makes the interview weak. She's too in her head and needs to let loose. Everyone has there own perception but if the interviewer wasn't asking anything it'd make it awkward if they all just sat and noticed and acknowledged her nervousness to validate her insecurity. No offense but that's why they have auditions for movies they don't hire an unconfident low self esteem person unless that's the role for the character they hire someone with confidence and character that can play the part. Otherwise movies would be horrible

    Based on the last two interviews, her questions are kinda trash. They’re off-topic from the movies and lean negative. Generally for these short interviews you keep things light and fun. I definitely don’t condone Blake’s condescending behaviour but these interviews are pretty boring outside of this “incident”.

    Blake seems sweet and actually vulnerable here. Sharing that she’s much more insecure than she lets on, how she resented her mother’s blind confidence and questioning if that makes her a bad person. And Anna used the opportunity to try to embarass her and put her down, like a real bully would. She was actually trying to give Kjersti’s question a thoughtful and sincere answer. She’s just shy with a dry sense of humor.

    As far as I can judge by this video this interview doesn't seem rude at all and people over-interpret things into it. They were joking in their way and it might be awkward at times, but the interviewer herself said it was an okay interview (while the first one in 2016 obviously was not). Tbh reading the comments here feels like a hunt for hints of Blake's bad character. She behaved badly in those viral situations but I think we're interpreting too much into it in other instances.

    As an interviewer, you are there to be asking about the actors work. Aka their acting. How did they get into the role, aspects of their character and lines they spoke. Why they decided to take the roles etc I don’t think the actors not wanting to talk about being pregnant (like in your first interview with Blake) is rude at all. And in this interview you barely asked about their work you asked about the alcohol??? But didn’t actually phrase any coherent thought provoking questions about it. You’re a really nice person but I don’t think Blake did anything wrong in either interviews…..
