@@casparbakker6403 The enfusion renderer is done, DayZ is using enfusion renderer only, so the engine must be finished first, Im not entirely sure about any of what ive just said, this is what ive read in other places

@@maugi_lp honestly i didnt expect performance updates as its more of an engine issue i expected more content from 2.0. a skin and a firing drill doesnt exactly strike me as new content. What i would have wanted was new weapons/ improvements to already exisiting weapons.
but ye arma 3 is still a very good game and personnaly idc about updates as i only use mods. lets hope arma 4 keeps all the good stuff arma 3 has and removes all the bade stuff. (cant wait to play with more than 20 fps :D)

The game is EOL, we're not getting major engine changes since its too fragile at this stage and most the team is working on the Enfusion engine or games related to the new engine

I agree with most of the comments here. For a 2.0 update, you know a major update in a sense I would've really expected more. However, I would prefer time to be spent on a new installment of the series rather than more content for a game with near unlimited modding content anyway. As long as 'it' comes sooner rather than later I'm happy :)
There was a lot added in the update. Read the patch notes. Also, just remember that the game was EOL'd last year.
@Alex In a sense of no scenario will ever be the same. You're right, there isn't "unlimited content" but there's certainly a whole lot of it, and adding a new faction or something isn't just a BI exclusive thing, mods have and can do that. If they chose to increase the games performance more rather than adding stuff then that's fine by me, especially seeing as 95% of the community are always winging about it.

Actually... they did! 64bit linux servers and server in general running with up to 1000fps instead of only 50. I have tested this a few hours ago and there certainly is a performance increase.

Man, I remember years ago when this game first came out and looked so amazing and cutting edge! My friends and I all upgraded JUST for this game. But that was a long time ago, and graphics have moved (WAY) beyond now. Sad to say it, but this game looks so old at this point.

Yes, there are some tweaks but overall it has no impact on performance, we all know it could be better. 3600hrs here, still like the game but only with mods.

Yeah I wish they would got my beefy new PC been playing the series since Arma 2 at very low graphics and fps finally get a crisp 60 and good graphics but since I went amd instead of intel now the ai constantly and immediately declares world peace making the game near unplayable but it makes the campaigns kinda funny though instead of clearing criminals out of a jungle you are now taking a nice hike and stopping to blow up a random car because you're mean or the NATO rampage on innocent peace loving AAF. I'd still like to be able to play the game though :/

@@denseacat Bohemia has been using the same engine for arma since 2006 they have modified that engine to it's max, why do you think they "gave up on it" and started working on a more modern and mainstream engine this being the still WIP Enfusion engine
@@beeftaco3834 Im playing series since OFP. I know some stuffs. Also i know about how engine works from insides. "Enfusion" UPDATE is renderer, mostly. Take a look at DayZ. its running current public version of RVEnfusion. They did not gave up, they literally updating it...internally. But problem is that they hype simple bugfix as a big thing, when they have biggest issues toaddress
I have almost 2,000 hours in Arma 3 but I honestly won't be playing again until Arma 4 comes out. It's been 7 years Bohemia and we have already seen DLC after DLC. I simply hope that we get a teaser or literally anything hinting to this project by the end of the year.
Arma 3 most requested feature (99% of players + YTB Videos): Better Performance by adding Multicore support + better GPU utilization to relieve the CPU from doing all the hard work.
Arma 3 least requested feature: Another firing Range.
BI: After 7 years in the making lets bring Arma 3 2.0 for all those fans who faithfully supported us all the way into 2020 with a bang: The Firing Range + a useless cologne/perfume thingy that a modder could literally do for USD 1 (Or even free as its got like 9 polygons).
WOW just WOW!!!! Well done BI, you continue to prove that even after the DayZ fiasco that bordered Star Citizen leveles of scummness that your devs could still be even more lazy than before.
Wouldn't suprice me if Arma 4 is announced in 2025 and is composed of just basically a Level Editor so the fans and moders can do the game for you! Just like your left your DayZ Stand Alone 0.5 in the hand of the community.
What is funny is that the Community Made DLCs recently released and announced for Arma 3 are probably bringing far more and trully unique content than what the official devs brought in all these 7 years combined so basically you got the most badass community of all time while also sporting the most lazy devs of the whole triple A industry.
Sadly this might had been your last chance, since I believe it is only a matter of time before EPIC or Squad or even DICE decides to bring a tool similar to the EDEN editor to completely wipe you out of the map, just like AMD is doing with the Lazy and complacent INTEL, so INTEL that could be considered your carbon copy company of the hardware industry.

Wym you can't run at 60FPS? How bad is your PC? For me arma runs very well, it only drops when there's a LOT of action going on, but that doesn't happen often unless you spawn 40 infantry in editor

I play on AhoyWorld Invade and Annex, it's a great gamemode, with around 50 avg players and 100 AI.
I don't see many servers with more than 80 players, only KOTH and Altis Life (ew), and in these gamemodes, players are usually spread out, with the exception of the smaller circle on KOTH

Arma 3 has had over 50 updates in the past 7 years. They have bumped the versions in 0.02 increments (the odd numbers, such as 1.99, were development builds). The last version that you had was v1.98. Now it is v2.00.
So this is more about the celebration of continuous development and support than announcing a major game upgrade.
Even If it’s just CTRG uniforms and a black p07 it’s still something that I’ve been wanting :D

Is there a forum of fixes being included in this? Like are all of the updated features listed? Cuz I'd really like it if every time I fire a bullet for the first time my game doesnt lag and freeze for half a second

I sure hope A4 goes back to the roots of A2. A3 had silly bullets which just made an enemy flinch instead of actually going down. Also, i miss the ability to pickup/drag/carry wounded teammates. It was too arcady to simply heal yourself and be on your way.
best would be if A4 took the balistics system and gave bullets the damage from A2

Question: I have an opfor on the map, playable, but for "AI Only" in the description. His Group is EastG1 and I have him set in the editor on a waypoint "move" pattern until he reaches his destination, his second to last waypoint is a "guard" command. I have a trigger which is synch'ed to the opfor unit, and after the "guard" waypoint, is one last waypoint of which is a "cycle" command, which cycles back to a particular move, may not be the first but where I want him to movie back and froth from after he guards. My question is this... I'm using a script to create opfor units having them join the playable Opfor that already exists on the map, hoping that they follow him to his waypoints. In the script I use a setcurrentwaypoint command, now what waypoint in the editor do I need to assign to the group, to have them not skip the cycle command? If in the editor "waypoint 5" is the cycle command, is it the same as used in the actual "setcurrentwaypoint" command? I've heard a rumor that the command is different than it's eden editor counterpart, ..must I setcurrentwaypoint to the very first waypoint?
Is the cycle even being executed after the "guard" waypoint ?
I have it set up this way, so that if the playable opfor dies, along with his remaining units, a message is displayed, "EastG1 has been wiped out, requesting reinforcements!", when he respawns, EastG1 is removed, recreated, and assigned back to the Opfor, more units are created for him, thus we have a never ending wave of enemies, the problem is, they don't seem to be cycling their waypoints, ecept for the 1st time, and then it gets pretty boring, as if they're just standing around doing nothing.
Also, enemy AI seem to sink into the ground when your viewing them from a distance, may be a setterraingrid issue. I had mine set to 50, but lowered it to 25, but they still sink into the ground. Is this intentional so that people do not cheat and remove grass as an exploit, yet kinda defeats the purpose of having it. The AI can shoot at me from 1400 meters away, after I engage them with a sniper rifle, but I can't see them because their buried into the ground. That is one of the most irritating bugs.

Arma 4 wishlist:
*Improved vehicle AI*
- The ability to follow roads and traffic laws without crashing.
- The ability to drive as a column without crashing.
*Improved AI pathfinding*
- Semi-realistic building and room cleaning.
- No more walking through each other.
- If possible, some kind of support for custom compositions.
*Improved animations*
- More lifelike animations in general. No more unnatural animations such as ADS crouch walk / running.
- No muzzle-sweeping.
- More animations with fluid transitions, so they could be used outside of cutscenes.
*Command menu overhaul*
- Kind of self-explanatory.
- No more scroll wheel.
*Expanded unit capture feature*
- Expanded to ground vehicles and infantry.
- Ability for AI to smoothly move into the position where the captured sequence starts.
Everything else is just extra.
As for features that would be nice, but by no means necessary
- Some kind of way to simulate snow and maybe even mud.
- The ability to deform terrain in Eden editor to create realistic trench systems.
- Low and high ready positions for weapons (very much like in Ground Branch) and AI support for those stances as well.
Well...The New Benchmark slogan should say : But Can It Run Arma 3?

I mean common, its the big 2.0 and they know it, I understand there is lots of bug fixes, but its 2.0!! not not a hotfix, and 2.0 usually means the upgraded version, the new big thing.... kinda sounds like this is just a ploy for something bigger....... just saying

I use to run ultra, now ever since 2.0, massive lag spikes and frame drops. I dropped down to "high" settings. What did you boys put in that new firing range course?

Guys pls be happy an game like arma 3 gets regular updates. Arma 3 is a project no other studio has ever attempted. We can only pray for a future version of this series!

You need to further improve the game engine and transfer ARMA 3 to Enfusion Engine . and also improve the network code for large online

Ive seen a few games become 2.0 , these games gave a huge update, usually an entire overhaul of things. but Arma literally adds a new pistol, a fire dril I seriously believe no one even tries out, and a workshop thingy, which I dont even know what it is
