How to play the Arma 3 Apex: Old Man scenario?
If you already own Arma 3 and the Arma 3 Apex expansion, you just need to download the latest Arma 3 update (1.98) on Steam. Afterwards, launch the game, go to SINGLEPLAYER in the main menu, click on SCENARIOS, and select "Old Man".

After the events of the Arma 3 “The East Wind” and “Apex Protocol” campaigns, the South Pacific island nation of Tanoa is hit by yet another humanitarian crisis; a malaria outbreak. I’ve only just started playing ArmA a week ago, and let me tell you I’m immensely blown away they are still adding content to this game. When ArmA 4 comes around in the next couple of years, we will all still be playing it in 2030 because of how dedicated they are to this series. Well done Bohemia

Been a while since I tinkered with arma, but can you not just open the mission file dump couple extra player slots on and change it to multiplayer, then run it as a LAN party with evolve virtual Lan party software?
@@blacknoire sadly no. That could work with simple single-player missions, but Old Man is a Scenario with a lot of scripting in it, it would be nice to have a second player slot that has 0 impact on the world at least, but I haven't found a way to do this yet.

This is by far the best Arma Singeplayer thing I ever played, I would love to see more of this getting supported by Bohemia!

This is what everyone wants as their campaign missions. If they made more of these to add a variety of open-world scenarios then I'm sure many players will be quite happy.
There really isn't enough content on Tanoa. Such a gorgeous map yet completely underutilised.

but in second way - it was terrible expression to say that -
Becose content that you can create is almost infinite - considering some mods from workshop , then it's all about your will of creating any good content , it is about will - how many things you will learn to do in editor - reflects - the variety of your content . for me - the scripting animations are hell
like it is - one thing to make soldier to do animation
but it is tottally different thing when you want him to make it at specific time or all the time .
Like once i was creating Escape from Jail
for over 20 hours of creating and i had no animations in that mission ..... i was not willing to go that far
This is why B.I. rules in my book! Never underestimate the effort that it takes to build a whole new scenario like this! Loving it! Well, I had to buy something though so now I got myself the Arma 3 soundpack ;)

@Arma 3 Dobrý den, nevím zda čtete komentáře a ještě k tomu v čestině ale chtěl bych říci pár vět. Právě jsem měl možnost dohrát po druhé tento scénář. Na poprvé při spolupráci s Keystonem a po druhé s DR.Drábkem. Nechci dělat spoilery pro ostatní a tak jen v rychlosti. Chci jen říci, že to byl pro mě opravdu skvělí zážitek a nutí mě to stále nad tím přemýšlet kde to šlo udělat třeba jinak. Tato open-world single player misemě absolutně nadchla a i trochu změnila pohled na Armu jako takovou. S opravdu šikovným týmem jde udělat v editoru opravdové dílo a toho si cením sám v něm někdy hodiny bojuji. Rád uvidím někdy v budoucnu podobné scénáře. Díky za Vaši práci, já si to musím jít dát po třetí. 10/10

@Pervitin Gave Because the game reached it's limitations. They made everything (carriers, radars) that the current platform can hold. They must build it up from scratch on a new engine that lets you make virtually anything (3 stage rockets etc.) and still get 60+ FPS.

I really like the concept of this kind of gameplay. I would add more play time by making it more like a sandbox game instead of ending when all primary missions are completed, like adding missions that randomly pop up or long time objectives. I hope that blowing up the silos works this time.
I just played this and I thought by this trailer you are going after this old man and I realize I was completely wrong but I'm not seeing any spoilers but I really really like this it fun!!!
I wish i started playing this back in the day.. Ive tried several different times and just cant grasp the complexity of the game controls to make it fun.. So many different stances, keybinds, and things that need to be done, fluently. So many things for my brain to absorb to be viable in the sim.
And after learning you can not play anything else, because of the lack of these stances. In fact you can ignore most of the keybinds as a beginner, and just start using them gradually when you start feeling confident.

Guten Tag seit des Update gibt es bei uns auf dem server pobleme wir haben ein RP server bei uns stehen manchmal die Autos nicht da wo man sie sieht und das ist erst so seit das update draußen ist bitte kontrolliert das weil es macht kein spass zu spielen und ich finde das die server selber entscheiden können aub die ein update haben wollen oder nicht

Man its such a great scenario. But playing it, its still buggy. Missions break, and soon camps and everything except AI stop spawning. Hopefully they will keep working on it, because it sucks to get 8 hours of progress in only for everything to bug out like that.

So like arma 4 2020? The arma 3 1.98 update came out recently getting pretty close to a 2.0 which no one does. In 2018 thier were rumors of projects already started which were claimed false by bohemia but we know how company's like to hold thier cards close

What's ur pc running? And what else are you doing other than the scenario? There's memory limits, so the bigger the "scenario" / mission is the more your gonna have trouble
For example if you spawn in like 100 vehicles and blow them up at the same time then no matter what your specs are it will freeze for a good 5-10 seconds, there's just so much going on under the hood, I thought it was a massive improvement when they converted to 64bit tho, iv created mods and ran my own server etc and only time I ever struggled with the game was when it was 32bit and my pc isn't even that shit hot
@@blacknoire l have 8gbn of ram and gtx 1050, and an I5-4690k. And I mainly play multiplayer now I used to play all throughout the single player campaign

Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis was a great game at that time I played it when i was 12 years old. Now if i compare it with nowadays games it still better, it also better than Arma 3, because you enjoy killing the enemies in Operation Flashpoint, whereas in Arma 3 you can't enjoy killing the enemies because Arma 3 is not smooth, whereas Operation Flashpont is extremely smooth ( operation Flashpoint is more realistic than Arma 3)

Am I the only one here who thinks that this "Old Man," looks a lot like Jason Hudson from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2😂😎?
What bothered me about this scenario is how they showed a picture of his youth in the Legion complete with vest and green beret (on other dudes) but yet we don't see such things in the scenario like an old memento stored away in his shed that we can use.
