Good video. Pretty much the way I do it, except I double the 16 with a Bimini. I also like to hook, the fly on something so I don’t have to worry about running it into my hand. Did that…once.
Yes the only problem I have found using the bowline knot is that if you leave the tag end to short it can come undone. Perfectly good knot though, makes a nice perfection loop.
@@TheUnknownAngler I like using it quite extensively when I fish fly or spinning. I learned it from a captain friend of mine fishing for tarpon in Costa Rica. Allows me to change flies without cuting shock tippet. Good channel Andy.

Yep bimini is the way to go for the extra level of protection on big fish.
Excellent.. would this work for knot-able stainless steel wire shock leader to the tippet?
Yep
Great video. I am going to use this 1.
Homer Rhode loop knot to fly, Slim Beauty , tippet to leader
About how much length of the 16lb tipped do you use? And do you connect it right to the fly line?
16-24 inches of 16lb on the end of a 7ft leader
The improved Homer Rode knot 🤔
You ever use a bowline or boland knot to attach you shock tippet to the fly.
