So I have been friends with Kelly since 8th grade. He was and still is the most competitive, tough and talented player I have witnessed. Afraid of nobody. I wish for him they had kept him in Detroit , he really deserved a championship. Still a good friend to this day.
He has 1 of the phattest names in the history of all sports. There's no way to call his name and it doesn't sound cool. Nevertheless, he scored the 1st point for a franchise. He had a soft touch off the run and gentle left. Plus never leave Big Jerze open or you'll get benched.
He use to get Buckets with the best of players I was just speaking on Him and his Game to some younger people and they didnt know who he was or about his game. Kelly Tripucka.

Kelly Tripucka is a person I have met before and he goes to the same club as me. I didn’t know who he was but after watching all his highlights and stats I find it stupid that not many know about him.
Ryan, you shouldn't feel foolish at all (not knowing who Kelly Tripucka was). I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. And, I only know who he is, because I was an NBA fan. I didn't get to watch him much, because I was a stiff, who didn't have cable TV until I was 18, and his Detroit Pistons teams weren't on national TV much, until they started getting very good in the mid to late 1980s.
Kelly Tripucka was an incredible scorer with Detroit. His trade to Utah put a hold on his scoring efficiency. It never really clicked afterwords, but one season with Charlotte.
Some players have a "playground" style. Tripucka had a "backyard" style. He was the guy you could never beat on his home rim, so full of tricks and feints. He'd make you foul him and hit the shot anyway with that beautiful shooting form. So clever offensively. He was replaced on the Pistons by fellow Notre Damer Adrian Dantley, who played a very similar game. Not a good defensive player, but many stars aren't.
4:50 The Blazers in 1990-91 talked about several players to acquire, mid season. They decided on Walter Davis. Dell Curry, Kelly Tripioka were others discussed. NOW I know why the Blazers didn't get him. He and Dan Ainge wouldn't have been able to co-exist.
Lamar Matic put a Nuggets-Pistons game on You Tube, featuring Kelly Tripucka and Kiki Vandeweghe's head-to-head matchup. Wow! Some awesome scoring by both of them! Kelly and Kiki could score.
Guys like This are so under appreciated: Tom Chambers Detlef Schrempf Kelly Tripuka Reggie Theus Jamaal Wilkes Alex English Dan Majerle Kiki Vandiweigh Jack Sikma Sidney Moncrief Jim Paxon Bobby Jones Those dudes were the truth.
2:20 I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American. A stiff who didn't have cable TV until I was 18. I did NOT know that Kelly Tapioca could dunk!

True. I always wondered why it didn't work out with Utah.

This video is the greatest evidence Lebron has that he faced better comp than Jordan.
Well, i would argue it showcases the opposite
If a player like luka can dominate today im oretty sure these guys can so stop
Yeah because unathletic Nikola Jokic didn't just win MVP in this era right?
