    Something tells me if you had to perform with these two in front of a large paying crowd, with no visualization of what you were using, you would make them cut rugs leaving happy.
    In terms of if it is techno or not, you answered your question. "I think it's really fun"

    Nice to see a given instrument done to this depth. I found myself humming this for about an hour after watching the video 😊

    That's wise. I did the most on my OG Circuit and it still amazes me. GAS is pretty ridiculous sometimes. Thanks for the informative no-nonsense videos though, always nice to watch.

    Hello and thanks for the video. I've used different sessions as different parts on my OG Circuit as you do here. It's cool to see you fully continue your exploration of these machines. I haven't tried the scenes on my Rhythm yet but hoping for a Supercircuit that'll have an easy song mode, though realize a lot of people don't really need song modes. My dream would be one that combines the tracks and rhythm and has 16 tracks and polyphony on the sampler side. A high quality onboard mic would be cool too. I also wonder if you'll demo the TE K.O. II, also a pretty groundbreaking instrument.

      I would still LOVE a supercircuit, although I have my doubts about whether it'll ever be a thing. I might try the KO II at some point, but no guarantee. At the moment I'm mostly focused on getting the most out of the gear I already have.

      The machine that really does it all is the SmplTrk but that small screen is a pain.

    Thanks for putting together this mini series, Gabe! The whole set is 🔥, especially the techno part, and I appreciate the breakdown of your workflow. I've been arranging individual (song) tracks on the Circuit Tracks using scenes, but I like how you used projects to handle automation. I'll definitely be trying that out soon!

    I want to try a combination with Circuit Tracks with a microfreak and VS pro on the midi channels,MC-101 with its own channels and maybe a rd-9 with its own sequencer...

    I have a few packs from A Force truly Evil and also techtronix. They always sound good but I still feel like I haven’t found one I totally vibe with yet. Do you have any favorite packs from them?
    Also do you usually just use the full pack or do you make your own packs and pull presets from various packs?

    Hey Gabe, I have a question. I'm looking for a portable-ish groovebox that will allow me to come up with ideas on the couch which I can then later easily export to Ableton, which is my primary tool to create music. I got an OG Novation Circuit a few months back, and while I've had fun with it, I've found it a little too limited and exporting to Ableton is a pain-you have to individually audio record each track and then do the drudgery work of synching everything. Given your wide range of experience with these machines, what would you recommend to someone in my position? I'm willing to pay a little more for the right machine. Just nothing huge, and something that'll allow me to export to Ableton really easily and quickly. I mostly make house and melodic ambient stuff if that matters at all. Thank you! I would appreciate it.

      The Roland MC-101 might be worth a look, it has multitrack recording over USB and a sound engine that should be good for the kind of music you mentioned.
      If you don't mind dealing with sound that's a bit more rough around the edges, the Korg Electribe 2 (I've only used the synth version so far) has VERY easy export. It can export all of its tracks into wav files onto an SD card with the click of a button

      @@GabeMillerMusic Thank you! I appreciate it. Was looking at the former, hadn’t considered the latter. Was also thinking about the new Yamaha Seqtrack but that also feels a little toy-ish from first glance. Appreciate it!

    Great easy to follow vid as alway. I thought i would try the project changing idea with my circuit tracks. I made two projects, both with a simple 4 on the floor kick. When i start playing one project and select the other, it cues up as expected. But when it switches it misses the first kick on the other project. Anyone else seen that? Have i got a setting wrong?

    • @GabeMillerMusic
      @GabeMillerMusic  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe check if it's turned down, muted, or set to a blank sample slot in one of the projects? I had the opposite happen with "ghost kicks" triggering, which I covered at the end of the other video I did recently about combining the two devices. Maybe that'll help you troubleshoot. Other than that, I'm not sure.

    The last techno song is veeery good (apart from some pads that kills a bit the vibes, but it's fine).
    I want to ask you something on the bass house song, what is your workflow on finding and programming the layers of track 6?
    In Daws you can easly use samples, Serum, Fxs, ecc. to replicate what do you have in mind, I found it more difficult on just a sampler...

    • @GabeMillerMusic
      @GabeMillerMusic  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks!
      My general approach is to start off by loading in a bunch of samples that will fulfill different purposes (a few sub bases, a few bass plucks, a few growls, etc), then I usually just charge in and start making stuff. A lot of the stuff in this set was made from scratch, rather than trying to 1:1 replicate tracks I had made elsewhere, although I did reuse melodies and basslines I had previously written all over the place. So in that way, I end up just working with the sounds I have, and if I did a good job giving myself a variety that serve the functions I need, I'm good. It helps that I have created my own sample pack that I can pull from, and I often go on Splice deep dives to get a bunch of new sounds to create a new pack. For a project like this set, I did leave myself some blank sample slots that I ended up filling later, but those samples came in more for the techno track.
      Hopefully that helps, I know it's not a super specific answer.

    Great video! As a Circuit Tracks owner, I've really enjoyed your reviews and tutorials. I'm intrigued by Yamaha's recently released Seqtrak. Any plans on getting a hold of/reviewing one of them in the future? Yamaha, if you are listening, please send Gabe a Seqtrak. Thanks!

      Thanks! Maybe at some point, but probably not anytime soon. Right now I'm (mostly) focusing on getting the most out of the gear I already have rather than trying a bunch of new gear, but I'll at least look into it to see if it's something I'd be interested in trying.

    So, after you used it for some time, is it a better set up than a MC101+Tracks? Is it possible, and would you gain anything with a MC101+Rhythm set up?

    • @GabeMillerMusic
      @GabeMillerMusic  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the Circuit combo is better for dance music, and has the potential to be more fluid if Novation can work out the interconnectivity bugs (see last week's video). The Tracks+MC101 combo is still better for more synth heavy stuff, and has less to manage. I'm not sure about a MC101+Rhythm setup. If I could get the patterns to play nice, it could be cool, but I don't necessarily think it would be ideal.
