- An orchestral remix/remake/cover of Megalovania from Undertale using high-end sample libraries.
The original track plays in the final battle of a "genocide" run in Undertale, so it's possible to finish the game without ever hearing it. Despite this, it seems to be the most popular track from the game. I've received an unusually large number of requests for this, and while it's not my favorite battle theme from Undertale (nor is it the most orchestratable), I figured it would be worth it to give it a shot.

Featuring a brass section with trom-bones, tulbas, and trumpet-ellas.
Our woodwind section features saxo-bones, glutes, and o-bones.

+TheMusikage I'm working on ASGORE at the moment, and I have a few potentially good ideas for it, but it's still too early to tell how it will turn out. I checked out your version and it's a decent remake considering the virtual instruments you used. There was nothing that stood out as awful or anything, but I think it would sound a lot better with higher quality sample libraries. That could be the style you were going for though, and there's nothing wrong with that sound if you're not going for the big realistic Hans Zimmer orchestral sound. Anyway, I'll try to give some specific feedback here. First, it would have been better if the intro (Bergentrückung) flowed into the main track more smoothly. The two issues I noticed are that they are in different keys (easy to solve with MIDI) and the intro ends a little too loud relative to the beginning of the main track. As for the mixing, I thought everything was okay, but the cymbal hits were mixed a little loud and could go down a couple db. The final cymbal hits at the end with all the other instruments sounded okay though. I hope this helped a little! :)

I read a theory that this song isn't actually Sans's theme, but in fact _yours_. After all, there's "The Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans". _You're_ the villain, and Sans is "hero" of the story. This theory is supported by the fact that Sans attacks first (which you have always done in the past), he can dodge (which you can as well), and he can make you wait for your turn (even if the other monsters are not aware of it, you can do this as well). I dunno, just thought it'd be interesting to share here.

Also considering the song name itself, 'Megalovania' - this is a mix of the word LOVE and Megalomania after all, so it makes sense that this is our (player's) theme. Chara does say they found the purpose of their reincarnation being 'power' after all, and the one who *teached* them THAT specific purpose in the Geno run is us...
It contrasts the Pacifist run so hard... They are so happy about life in that run it hurts...... [I'm referring to the dog food dialogue where charrator says 'half-empty' in genocide and normal but 'half-full' in pacifist]

That makes a lot of since. A "megalomaniac" is essentially someone mad for power (which makes since if you see where Toby put it in its original use of the Earthbound hack).

The laziest guy in the Underground is motivated to act, and it takes Genocide to make him fight seriously. The song is addictive as hell, and everyone loves the contrast between normal Sans and motivated Sans.

Hm, it almost sounds mundane. Rather than a fight for your life, it just sounds like a fight in the courtroom, like Ace Attorney, heh. This could have used less brass and more strings, and perhaps winds. The percussion was a nice touch for the low part of the song, because it makes it sound menacing. Overall, pretty good!

The thing I really enjoy about your remasters as opposed to others is the fact that you stick to the true piece.Other people add in additional unnecessary parts, and tweak pre-existing parts when I just want the original song with non-8-bit instruments, and you stick to that! I would love to see you do Spider Dance for sure!

Considering Sora isn't a bad person, but is easily manipulated to think that something can be good while it is actually evil, I thought that Chara would possibly Ask Sora to protect him from all of the "Evil Monsters" trying to take his heart. And while Chara's out killing people and Sora's none the wiser, Sans would probably try and beat Sora because he thinks he's in Cahoots with Chara. Hence the misunderstanding.

This is really a somethin' it reminds me of the times when I actually played trumpet. Like this song is all just so nostalgic but with the orchestral cover it's even better, this is some real good work and I really find this entertaining. Also I'm grateful there are people out there doing this kind of "good" Music!

well done. as you've said, this one was... not as good as the others. I don't blame you though; most of this song is fast, uses really short beats, strange rhythms, and does other stuff you really shouldn't try to make sound good in an orchestra setup unless you're willing to *slightly modify the mood of the song, which happens anyway.

This is really cool! It seems to be missing something though. In my orchestral version of this song, I gave the melody to the Brass the entire time. I think that's the only thing that this track is missing.

If I were to make it again, I'd probably make a lot of changes to the instrumentation. Most notably, I'd abandon the idea of going pure orchestral in favor of a rock/orchestral hybrid.
