@aud rey well, she said it was a WIP, so is justifiable for not looking that unique. i think it is "unique" because it just look like the battle in the game itself if you pay attention to sans' attacks, and the movements is really smooth in the entire animation. and hey, she said on Twitter that there's a colored version coming out... it's already ready by the way.

So, clearly, I'm incredibly late to the Fandom. This animation is amazing and really captured the essence of what the genocide route is. The flashes of seeing all the important characters deaths was a fantastic (and heart wrenching) edition to the animation. You really made Chara seem feral and insane! Even the small gestures, like Sans jerking his head back or heart shaped shadows, add so much to the animation and overall mood to the piece. You did an amazing job on this and I'm grateful you stuck with it and finished it.
Having watched this and the Death By Glamour animatic, I love the subtle differences in appearance you give Frisk. They’re essentially the same character, but their expressions and general unkemptness in this animation make them much more unsettling

The way you conveyed how each attack might have gone realistically (as opposed to the characters just standing there like in the game) feels to me exactly like how it would have played out. Your creativity amazed and inspires me, I really don't think I have the words to describe how incredible this animation is!

Yep that's my Undertale AU for ya. Except it's just Papyrus who dies first, and Gaster is like basically Sans and Papyrus's dad, and he gets super mad and starts beating the crap outta Sans, then time passes by and then Sans and the girl (I have not played Undertale yet therefore I don't know her name) fight and of course, Sans dies, my o.c. comes in and kills the girl, (my o.c. name is Midnight and she got lost one day when Sans was like, what, 10, and they have been friends ever since. And seeing Sans just die right in front of her aunt gonna be good thing) then everyone head up to the surface the end boom we done baby! Sorry that this is so long, tried to summarize it best I could. Lemme know if u like it!
Let’s all appreciate how accurate this fight scene is to the memorable attacks from sans in the actual fight... the animation is just blessed, but the precision of the attacks makes me appreciate this even more! Thank you for completing this animation! (Sry for being half a year late XD)
Ikr. Everything about this is awesome. I also took a moment to frame by frame the moment where Sans is reflecting on everyone Frisk/Chara killed, I absolutely love how each character dies by each weapon (Toriel by Toy Knife, Papyrus by the boxing gloves, Undyne by Ballet Shoes, etc.). It even go as far as to show previous versions of Sans fighting her. Round of applause to the creator, for real

this was stupid good, like really good.... Almost the best fight i have seen with sans.... sadly there a few i love to an absurd degree, but this was proably the more accurate representation of this fight
kudos to you for keeping all the lore and canon stuff in the animation, this was so clearly well done and I enjoyed every second of it! the part where sans finds papyrus' cape and remembers all the things frisk has done to hurt him here, gave me chills. I literally felt every emotion in that moment. well done!
I can't express how much i love this. This animation is so good, instead of doing some bones here and here you really made big and dangerous attacks in plus of the corridor being a bit destroyed like it should be in a fight, the camera movements and those moments were the animation is slow and super detailled are just so great without mentionning how good it's to see the animation improving ! For an unfishined project it's already more than a lot of people can do :)
Of all the Sans fight animations I've seen, this one is the best, even though it isn't colored. One thing most people don't understand is exactly how SCRIPTED fight scenes actually are. As a writer on the side, I know that fight scenes are a careful balance of "going with the flow" by using what seems natural, and planning every move out 5 steps in advance by using actual applicable combat knowledge. The main thing that sets this so far apart from others is how it *uses the environment*. Two opponents endlessly flying at each other just doesn't have the same level of cool as using acrobatic dodges. And it's not just dodges, either. Both characters are using active techniques. Frisk (Chara?) uses knife parries and throws and implements various obstacles summoned by Sans to reposition or lunge themselves. Instead of only dodging with slight shifts, Sans teleports to advantageous positions to set up his next attacks, stops an attack with soul telekinesis and even summons a defensive barricade. Not to mention, the detail of Sans' attacks is impeccable. The bones bursting out of the ground may be a creative liberty over what we've seen in the game, but it really does look so much cooler. Also, every bone is drawn so realistically! Though a bit free form, this fight makes sure to incorporate attack patterns Sans actually uses in Undertale. Even more important, of course, are the characters themselves. Our homicidal protagonist is clearly insane, but at least starts the battle with the carefree neutral expression we always see on them. However, instead of being the freak-of-nature shown by other animations who just straight up takes damage without a flinch and dies to retry without a second thought, this portrayal depicts a character who at least still feels the pain, and makes every attempt to dodge or counter any damage thrown at them, just like how the actual player would. Even if Frisk is insane, the person playing as them is (probably) not. We contribute a certain level of emotion to everything, and that emotion is reflected back in our gameplay. And then there's Sans, who really truly wants to believe there is still some good left in the protagonist, but is fighting to avenge those you mercilessly slaughtered before him. He smiles as if bored, but is of course burning with the loss of his friends and family. He doesn't want to fight you. Ingame, if you give him any reason to turn a blind eye, if you spared anyone along the path, Sans will not fight you. If there's any one word to describe Sans (at least in Genocide), it would be Reluctant. And that word is written all over his animation. Edit: Last thing I totally forgot to mention. It's synced to the song! Though not every time, this animation lends itself to changing the frame whenever the song drops. The attention to detail never ceases to amaze me. -Would donate $100 to see it in full color.- Edit #2: Holy crap, thank you everyone for 1,000 likes! I honestly didn't think even a hundred people would read this, let alone over a thousand! Stay Creative!

I love how you've captured Sans' carefree facade with every dodge he makes. Even unfinished, what we have is really damn good, and I can see--easily--why you got involved in bigger stuff. I don't think most people are going to see an abandoned project when they watch this. I sure as hell didn't. I think my favorite part was how you handled the blue heart attacks. *Chef's kiss*.
If you slow down when sans starts seeing timelines when pap’s scarf vanishes one scene is frisk being decapitated, one with frisk being stabbed in the stomach by bones and sans crying by their corpse, one with frisk being mauled by the gaster blaster and one with them on the floor with a bone in their mid-chest I think, presumably being dunked on after sparing sans Oh and Papyrus’ head being Stomped on by Frisk
I didn't catch all the deaths of Frisk the first time. I was too focused on the other characters' deaths before that. Plus it was really quick. Very cool addition that I think quite a few people will miss
What i love of this animation and keeps me looking for it many times is that the canon parts are well keeped, not like most of other fangames or animations. I want to do an animation of this fight by myself in the future. I love this animation

In my opinion the project is done. It could be polished? Yes, but at that point, the core of the animation is the important and I love how it had been done. Good luck in other projects ^^
Sans is not a villain he is just a 1of main character but he only fought frisk because frisk killed his brother Papyrus and all his friends in genocide mode
@@VikeingBlade it's not that he's not right, it's that there was no reason for said comment. It's like he was explaining who Sans is to a guy who knows who Sans is already but was making a comment as to who he thought Sans was prior to playing the game. It's a dumb comment to make is all I'm saying.
I love how calm and dignified Sans remains during the entire fight. Even towards the end around the 2:17 mark, when Frisk/Chara is clearly getting the upper hand over him, he looks more like an older brother trying to swat away and then correct the annoying antics of a younger sibling than someone who is fighting desperately for his life. It drives home just how evil Chara's (and the player's) actions are. You're not just striking down some random monster. You're striking down someone who is practically family by this point, someone who just wants you to stop your rampage, and who you can at any point simply decide to walk away from and not try to fight anymore.
Something i really like in this animation that sets it apart from a lot of others is the expressions. Sans isnt always pissed off, and is instead mostly casual throughout the first part. Frisk, while having the crazy smile thing other animations do, also has expressions such as being surprised.
2:47 For some reason,I like this part the most. Sans gives in everything he has into that one final stance. After this,he simply doesn't have any energy left. As the final reserves of his power leaves his now drained body. We can see the effort he is making in not giving up. He still tries to muster up some energy in his arm,some power in his eyes. Yet,his arm drops limp. His eyes lose the radiant glow. He simply can't do anything anymore. The skeleton who was once too lazy to use uppercase words,has now used up everything he had built up for one final stand. Yet,he fails. The players powers finally overpower him. He knows his fate. He closes his eyes,remembering everyone he lost,and seeing the bleak future as the world loses it's last hope. But he is too fatigued to think. He goes into a deep slumber. And with this,all of his powers go into a slumber as well. The player,filled with the desire to end him and the world,raise their weapon for the final blow. The player charges,with the intention to end everything for once and for all. At the final moment. Sans teleports away. He still thinks he can make it,he still thinks he can save the world. But fatigue gets the better of him,he doesn't teleport to a safe distance. At this moment,the pain of every being who was obliterated, the hopes and dreams that were destroyed, Unite. Something withn the world,senses the feeling of absolute despair in sans. The long dormant spirit of Chara awakens. And with that,their,long dormant wish too,to end everything. They take the control from the player. Sans doesn't even have the time to think before being destroyed. After a final act of mockery,he walks off. He knows his end is imminent. As he disappears to dust,he can't help but foresee the end that lies ahead,of his and the world. He is filled with the coldest of all despair and the deepest of all sorrows. His body disappears to dust.
One thing that I think was incredibly done is that the animator not only includes the deaths of all his friends, but also the trauma of having to kill Frisk over and over again.
Holy crap for an unfinished animation, I was convinced that this was beyond finished Great animation, smooth angle movements, lots of creativity when it comes to the attacks and movements, etc. Great vid, and this form of animation is exactly what I would like to be for my career!

I saw this quite a while ago, but now that I have finally gotten around to playing Undertale and cleared the Genocide route as of a few hours ago, I decided to revisit this video and now have a greater appreciation for this animation, as if it wasn't amazing enough before then! Great job!

2:05 - 2:08 is trully the best part: -Toriel dying - Papyrus getting his skull crushed - Undyne dying protecting the child and her girlfriend (i forgot her name) crying - frisk dying over and over again to sans
Hey um for those who want to at 2:04 put it at 0.25x speed or lower if it lets you and then (if it lets you lower you might not need to) pause and play rapidly to only let maybe a few frames go by. It will let you see all the little secret flashbacks that Sans had. Also at 2:08 there is some images that will probably suprise you
The 2:08 time stamp probably won’t let you go to the actual frame that shown you the image. Warning of spoilers to the frames if you haven’t seen them. So they are of the genocide route you took, killing all of the bosses up to him. After that it shows him killing the player many times. This implies the fact that in this animation Sans does know about the other timelines and the fact he has vague memories of killing you showing he does remember them. Then in the 2nd to last one at 2:09 it shows him either kneeling down in regret or crying because he had to kill against his desire of not to kill you for you to reset and not do genocide. He then comes back from that flashback and realizes that he is giving you mercy but can’t because of your actions and killings. Something else to back this up is when the player is impaled by the bone they are scared or freaked out because it reminds them of one of the other timelines where they died to bones impaling them.

I also took a moment to frame by frame the moment where Sans is reflecting on everyone Frisk/Chara killed, I absolutely love how each character dies by each weapon (Toriel by Toy Knife, Papyrus by the boxing gloves, Undyne by Ballet Shoes, etc.). I can't express how much i love this. This animation is so good, instead of doing some bones here and here you really made big and dangerous attacks in plus of the corridor being a bit destroyed like it should be in a fight, the camera movements and those moments were the animation is slow and super detailled are just so great without mentionning how good it's to see the animation improving ! For an unfishined project it's already more than a lot of people can do :)
Of all the Sans fight animations I've seen, this one is the best, even though it isn't colored. One thing most people don't understand is exactly how SCRIPTED fight scenes actually are. As a writer on the side, I know that fight scenes are a careful balance of "going with the flow" by using what seems natural, and planning every move out 5 steps in advance by using actual applicable combat knowledge.
The main thing that sets this so far apart from others is how it *uses the environment*. Two opponents endlessly flying at each other just doesn't have the same level of cool as using acrobatic dodges. And it's not just dodges, either. Both characters are using active techniques. Frisk (Chara?) uses knife parries and throws and implements various obstacles summoned by Sans to reposition or lunge themselves. Instead of only dodging with slight shifts, Sans teleports to advantageous positions to set up his next attacks, stops an attack with soul telekinesis and even summons a defensive barricade.
Not to mention, the detail of Sans' attacks is impeccable. The bones bursting out of the ground may be a creative liberty over what we've seen in the game, but it really does look so much cooler. Also, every bone is drawn so realistically! Though a bit free form, this fight makes sure to incorporate attack patterns Sans actually uses in Undertale.
Even more important, of course, are the characters themselves. Our homicidal protagonist is clearly insane, but at least starts the battle with the carefree neutral expression we always see on them. However, instead of being the freak-of-nature shown by other animations who just straight up takes damage without a flinch and dies to retry without a second thought, this portrayal depicts a character who at least still feels the pain, and makes every attempt to dodge or counter any damage thrown at them, just like how the actual player would. Even if Frisk is insane, the person playing as them is (probably) not. We contribute a certain level of emotion to everything, and that emotion is reflected back in our gameplay.
And then there's Sans, who really truly wants to believe there is still some good left in the protagonist, but is fighting to avenge those you mercilessly slaughtered before him. He smiles as if bored, but is of course burning with the loss of his friends and family. He doesn't want to fight you. Ingame, if you give him any reason to turn a blind eye, if you spared anyone along the path, Sans will not fight you. If there's any one word to describe Sans (at least in Genocide), it would be Reluctant. And that word is written all over his animation.
Edit: Last thing I totally forgot to mention. It's synced to the song! Though not every time, this animation lends itself to changing the frame whenever the song drops. The attention to detail never ceases to amaze me. -Would donate $100 to see it in full color.-

If you slow down when sans starts seeing timelines when pap’s scarf vanishes one scene is frisk being decapitated, one with frisk being stabbed in the stomach by bones and sans crying by their corpse, one with frisk being mauled by the gaster blaster and one with them on the floor with a bone in their mid-chest I think, presumably being dunked on after sparing sans

I love how calm and dignified Sans remains during the entire fight. Even towards the end around the 2:17 mark, when Frisk/Chara is clearly getting the upper hand over him, he looks more like an older brother trying to swat away and then correct the annoying antics of a younger sibling than someone who is fighting desperately for his life. It drives home just how evil Chara's (and the player's) actions are. You're not just striking down some random monster. You're striking down someone who is practically family by this point, someone who just wants you to stop your rampage, and who you can at any point simply decide to walk away from and not try to fight anymore.

Something i really like in this animation that sets it apart from a lot of others is the expressions. Sans isnt always pissed off, and is instead mostly casual throughout the first part. Frisk, while having the crazy smile thing other animations do, also has expressions such as being surprised.
Best actual fighting out of any undertale animation I've seen.

For some reason,I like this part the most. Sans gives in everything he has into that one final stance. After this,he simply doesn't have any energy left. As the final reserves of his power leaves his now drained body.
We can see the effort he is making in not giving up. He still tries to muster up some energy in his arm,some power in his eyes.
Yet,his arm drops limp. His eyes lose the radiant glow. He simply can't do anything anymore. The skeleton who was once too lazy to use uppercase words,has now used up everything he had built up for one final stand.
Yet,he fails. The players powers finally overpower him. He knows his fate. He closes his eyes,remembering everyone he lost,and seeing the bleak future as the world loses it's last hope.
But he is too fatigued to think. He goes into a deep slumber. And with this,all of his powers go into a slumber as well. The player,filled with the desire to end him and the world,raise their weapon for the final blow.
The player charges,with the intention to end everything for once and for all. At the final moment. Sans teleports away. He still thinks he can make it,he still thinks he can save the world.
But fatigue gets the better of him,he doesn't teleport to a safe distance. At this moment,the pain of every being who was obliterated, the hopes and dreams that were destroyed, Unite. Something withn the world,senses the feeling of absolute despair in sans.
The long dormant spirit of Chara awakens. And with that,their,long dormant wish too,to end everything.
They take the control from the player. Sans doesn't even have the time to think before being destroyed. After a final act of mockery,he walks off.
He knows his end is imminent. As he disappears to dust,he can't help but foresee the end that lies ahead,of his and the world. He is filled with the coldest of all despair and the deepest of all sorrows.
His body disappears to dust.

One thing that I think was incredibly done is that the animator not only includes the deaths of all his friends, but also the trauma of having to kill Frisk over and over again.

I saw this quite a while ago, but now that I have finally gotten around to playing Undertale and cleared the Genocide route as of a few hours ago, I decided to revisit this video and now have a greater appreciation for this animation, as if it wasn't amazing enough before then! Great job!

This has to be one of the most amazing and powerful Megalovania animations I've ever seen.

FYI, the flashing quick bit shows the deaths of Toriel, Papyrus, Undyne, and Medaton, in that order, then what appears to be various scenes of Frisk dying from Sans in past versions of this fight.

Hey um for those who want to at 2:04 put it at 0.25x speed or lower if it lets you and then (if it lets you lower you might not need to) pause and play rapidly to only let maybe a few frames go by. It will let you see all the little secret flashbacks that Sans had. Also at 2:08 there is some images that will probably suprise you
The 2:08 time stamp probably won’t let you go to the actual frame that shown you the image.
Warning of spoilers to the frames if you haven’t seen them.
So they are of the genocide route you took, killing all of the bosses up to him. After that it shows him killing the player many times. This implies the fact that in this animation Sans does know about the other timelines and the fact he has vague memories of killing you showing he does remember them. Then in the 2nd to last one at 2:09 it shows him either kneeling down in regret or crying because he had to kill against his desire of not to kill you for you to reset and not do genocide. He then comes back from that flashback and realizes that he is giving you mercy but can’t because of your actions and killings. Something else to back this up is when the player is impaled by the bone they are scared or freaked out because it reminds them of one of the other timelines where they died to bones impaling them.
