    I’ve made these for years. Very tasty. You can make your own sausage meat using ground pork or chicken. Even ground beef and experiment with various herbs and spices. The air fryer is a great way to cook them or you can fry in bacon fat. Good for lunch boxes or picnics.

    Hubby usually doesn't pay attention to videos I listen to, but he sure perked up when he heard Scotch eggs. We had them for Easter dinner and they were a hit. He is having the leftovers tonight. We only had leftovers because the other dinner items were ribeyes and shrimp. The Scotch eggs are huge, so we split one. He said they were dead on to the ones he had on leave in England. Your recipes are the best!

    My Scottish husband makes them a couple of times a year and I love them but haven't been able to have them ever since I went keto. This recipe is brilliant. I always have pork panko in my house for when I coat chicken breast pieces, not sure why I never thought of using it to replace regular breading on the scotch eggs🤦‍♀️ Thank you so much for the time, effort and passion you always put in your recipies and videos!

    • @carnivore_kate
      @carnivore_kate 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@loadedtrucker447 you dip it into egg and than bread. It won't drip. It's a thin layer.

      @@loadedtrucker447 by double dip I meant after dipping in the egg wash you roll it back in the breading to get a thicker coating

    Oh my Cheezits! We had scotch eggs for lunch and they were delicious. For four there was a total of 2 carbs (I had to use up cheese in the fridge and I added 1/4 cup preshredded parm). I am diabetic and with all of the progress that has been made in the last 43 years in treatment, one of the best is the keto craze! I love how you show and explain the dishes

    Yowza!! Usually I just print recipes to make someday. This morning, I already made the scotch eggs. I happened to have the ingredients on hand and the time to do it. I forced my British boyfriend to eat one, though he did not like scotch eggs growing up. He said they’re a success! I agree. I didn’t expect to enjoy it so much. Amateur tips: I think I used only 12 oz of sausage among the four eggs. I didn’t have much luck with the plastic wrap trick either. My hands worked, but only after I really dried off the eggs. Yummy.

    I just joined your channel. I’ve been thinking about it for awhile, but the scotch eggs recipe pushed me over the edge. I remember the first time I had scotch eggs I was in England visiting my sister and we went to the market. I was browsing through a deli section and spotted scotch eggs. Never heard of them. I asked my sister and she explained what they were. I thought that sounded good so we got some. Your version sounds fantastic. I have some venison Italian sausage I want to try them with. Just had to comment again. We made our own sausage tonight that blows Jimmy Dean away. It made some seriously good Serious Keto Scotch Eggs and no carbs in my sausage except what was in the dry spices. We found a honey mustard sauce by G.Hughes that has 1 carb per 2T and it was great with it. Making our own sausage makes this about a $5 meal for 5 Scotch eggs when we grind a pork shoulder that is on sale for $1.85/lb. Can't tell you how much we love this recipe.

    The perfect scotch egg has a soft boiled center where you have the crispy outer shell that is excentuated by the soft, runny yolk. It's extremely hard to do. While Steve's version uses hard boiled, his version is the perfect substitute, as the flavor stays the same and it's uber easy. Thanks Steve!!!

      @@SeriousKeto Parchment works great! I use it on the 1st side, take off when I flip them. Paper plates (uncoated) work great in the bottom of the air fryer for "messy" sticky foods like sauced wings, makes cleanup easier. Paper won't burn until 451 F degrees (remember Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradberry? Books are illegal, "fireman" to dispatched all books. That's how I remembered the temp.) Cuts down on the airflow a bit, takes a few minutes longer. Thanks Steve! Like your recipe episodes the best.

    We have a British pub restaurant across the street from our house. Their Scotch eggs are AMAZING! But at $12 a pop, I rarely get them. It's the sausage they use, though, that makes the egg. I don't know what kind of spices are in there, but oh man! (I'm told it's the same sausage they use for their bangers and mash, but haven't tried them yet). BTW, when I lived in Iowa, I found that Old Folks made a really yummy chorizo flavor. Sadly, I can't find that anywhere (now in CA) -- not sure if they even make that flavor anymore. But if you find it, you have to try it. It's more of the Spanish style, rather than the Mexican style, so it's meatier.
