    These little live steam locomotives really show off the power of steam. 👍

    Remember having to wait for the train to load onto the Chief Wawatam rail road ferry in St.Ignace when I was a kid. These functioning models are absolutely amazing.

    At 4:05 and 4:35 that track looks a little rough. Up and down quite a bit but must be in gauge. I think it is very neat how track can be all out of whack but if it stays in gauge then the trains will go across it no problem. Goes for any size or scale all the way to life size. Great video. 👍

      Telephoto lens distortion, not nearly as bad as it looks. You should see prototype lines through a telephoto to see they too look like this.

      @@formerparatrooper I know. I've worked for a track contractor before. This is nothing compared to some track I've seen. 👍

    Anyone here know if Plum Cove Studios still sells locomotives? I’m looking to getting back into the hobby.
    UPDATED: Plum Cove Studios does indeed still make locomotives for anyone wondering. I reached out via Facebook. Their website is still up if you are interested.

    Out-stinking-standing!! Loved the Erie Lacawanna passenger train and the C&NW diesel. Just asking how many people can the 4-4-0 carry? I don't imagine too many. What gauge is this anyways. I live in a rural area of Minnesota with alot of farms around kind of surprised more farmers don't have these running around their property to help with some of the chores. Just saying. Have a great day everyone.

    Question why does the 4-6-0 at 2:40 have such a long stack on?

    • @Squid1562
      @Squid1562 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gunrunner probably because the smoke bothers the owner, so he extended the stack so it wouldn’t be in his face

      They were removed to avoid damage while these engines were in operation on this railroad.

    i love everything about this channel except one thing; the notice in the description that tells people under 13 to leave immediately. Since the age of three, i have loved watching and learning about steam engines. Most people will think that i'm just some guy who was born in a generation where everyone wanted to be an engine driver as a child, but this disclaimer applied to me up until last year. Telling kids to leave is not a way to get them interested in trains, or anything else for that matter. Encouragement will lead to a growth in interest from the youth like me, and in twenty or so years we will be a big part of the live steam community, like it or not. If you don't want the fire to die out for this hobby, then add some fresh fuel.

      Take it up with the federal government and the FCC- they are the ones who enacted COPPA. I’m not having my channel shut down or getting fined especially when the content I produce is not aimed at those under 13 to begin with.

      @@chessiesystem613He also had around 20 full size steam powered automobiles. One of which was a bus. All running. They were in a huge rock building/garage/museum beside a large machine shop built from rock also. The buildings were behind his huge rock house that looked like a castle that had a 1 and ½ mile loop of track around the property. There was a ferris-wheel and merry-go-round and some other smaller things in the yard in front of the buildings inside the track. He was in his late 80s. The town he lived in was founded by and named for his family in the mid or late 1700s. He'd open the place up for families on weekends in the summer and all the rides was free. He had vendors come in and set up to sell food and drinks. Train rides and amusement park rides and food. Carnival every weekend. So I guess he had plenty of cash to have the 6 live steamers. Very cool old fellow. That was around 2002 when I met him so I'm sure hes passed on now. Don't know what came of any of it. 👍

      'LBSC' 'Curly' Lawrence built 55 engines, although they were of a smaller gauge than shown here and thus not as detailed. He also published 112 designs.
      He was born circa 1882 and passed away 1967. Worked as a fireman on the London, Brighton and South Coast railway before writing articles for model engineering magazines.

    I may be looking in the wrong place, but I've tried multi-other videos on the Steam Channel asking about "does anybody out there run GTW steam?" With that being said, I thought since this line runs in MI, somebody... ANYBODY! has to know something about this. Your thoughts and consideration would be GREATLY appreciated
