Enjoyed your reaction! This performance is from the Wacken (Vaken) Open Air Festival in Germany in front of 82,000 people. Wacken is a small cattle ranching village of about 2500 people that transforms into the biggest metal festival in the world, thus the flaming bull head is the symbol of the festival. Lead singer is Floor Jansen and she had only been with the band about 10 months here. She has been singing in metal bands since she was 16, is a huge vocal nerd, and was part of teh first Dutch Rock Academy class as well as hving sudied 1 year of opera and 2 years of musical theater with a teacher from the Dutch Conservatory. She is one of the most talented and versatile singes you will ever hear. She can sing everything from opera to death metal growls.
82,000 people. That was the crowd size on the day. For scale, the Queen Live aid performance was in front of 72,000. The amazing thing is that the lead (Floor Jansen), had only joined the band as an emergency fill in something like 9 months prior. Then gave this performance as if she wrote the stuff. It's an incredible show that gets more incredible the more you know about it. I found them as you did - Phantom of the Opera with Tarja singing lead. Greatest version of the Phantom ever recorded. I had never heard of them till I started listening to Liliac reactions and I had been new to them as well. But I kept seeing people reacting to these guys too. When I saw phantom pop up in one of the reaction lists, I pounced. After Ghost Love score, I bought the Wacken live blueray set, the End of an era vinyl, dvd, etc.. piled up the albums. Liliac I wound up buying their entire discography. I have some catchup work to do with these guys yet. Tuomas is an incredible composer and It feels like a privilege to get to hear a Modern Mozart work. Mindblowing and breathtaking. Floor is a gem. I could pour accolades on the rest of the band as well.. they earn it. Great reaction!
Since you started with the Phantom of the Opera, you might want to listen to the version with Nightwish and Floor Jansen in Amsterdam at the Ziggodome for two consecutive shows in front of 17,000 per show. The role of Eric was sung by Henk Poort, the original Dutch Phantom who performed the role some 600 times on the Dutch stage. What's amazing about this performance is that it was four weeks after breast cancer surgery and she still wasn't 100%. Some other songs: "Romanticide" at Wacken, "Yours is an Empty Hope" at Wembley, "Tribal" live performance compilation, and many many more. The band is Finnish, but Floor Jansen is Dutch. You have yet to see their multi-instrumentalist from England, Troy Donockley. The joke about Troy is that it is easier to list the instruments he doesn't play. Floor speaks four languages and a smattering of a fifth. She has sung songs in eight languages ranging from German hip-hop to "O Holy Night" in Finnish. She has been singing in metal bands since 1997. Her vocal styles range from operatic to death metal and anything in between. The whole concert was professionally recorded by the band. This song was #13 of the 15 song headline concert set. All these songs were written for the prior singers. This song was originally performed by Tarja. Anette coukd not sing it, but Floor brought it back on the tour, and added her own ending, which made it her own and a staple of the band, loved by fans. Saw Floor sing it in Montreal in May 2022.

Welcome to the world of Nightwish. Almosty every song is composed by keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, the Metal Mozart, and you'll rarely face songs as multi-layered and meaningful as these. Every song is essentially a story, a journey, heading deep into secrets of existence. Yes, they have mase few covers and those are incredible as well. Tuomas has other work outside Nightwish as well, his dream project was 'The Life and Times of Scrooge' with Don Rosa, illustrator for Disney who made some of the most well-known Scrooge McDuck illustrations. Aside his compositions, Tuomas also has a gift of bringing everything out from his bandmates, as shown by Floor, Marco, Emppu and Jukka here. Their performance is incredible throughout the whole festival.

This is the third and most versatile singer for Nightwish, Dutchwoman Floor Jansen. With the band only ten months at this concert and every song is excellent. They were all written for one of the previous singers, Tarja Turunen operatic and then Anette Olzon pop but Floor was exceptional and has introduced so many new fans to Nightwish.
@TheLionsReaction If you do, make sure that it's a studio recording, possibly Bye Bye Beautiful as she is very poor live. Although Anette originallty recorded it on an album, there is only one definitive version of The Poet and the Pendulum and that is by Floor at Wembley 2015. Tuomas the keyboardist and composer has said that no-one else should perform it after Floor.
There are few things more enjoyable on the entire internet than following someone as they discover Nightwish and Floor Jansen. I'm subscribed. And you are in for such a treat and a life changing experience, as the entire band are virtuoso performers (and I include both drummers and bassists) with a huge catalogue of incredible and varied live performances to check out. And Floor herself... unquestionably in my mind the greatest rock singer of all time, and by a large margin. Be prepared to see music differently once you've reacted to a few more of their performances.

I'm afraid I also have a correction for you as well, as this was Floor's ninth festival performance with Nightwish. Her first was Sauna Open Air at Tampere in Finland, followed by Greenland Festival, Interlaken, Switzerland, Tuska Open Air (back in Finland), Byblos in Lebanon, Lakselv in Norway, Ilosaarirock and Sotkamon Syke (both in Finland again), Benatska Noc Fest in Czechia, and on to this epic Wacken performance. Two more festivals at the Alcatraz in Belgium and M'era Luna back here in Germany closed out the epic world tour.

You have finally encountered *Floor Jansen*, also known as the Dutch Valkyrie Goddess of the Nightwish Army, Honored Citizen of the Amazonians, Sole Creator of all Floorgasms, Empress of Empathy & Enchantment, Top Commander of the Windmill Society, as well as Undisputed Queen of Metal music. What's next? I'd pick something more uptempo from the same concert: "Romanticide", you will also see/hear Marko singing again.
In case you don’t know or no one mentioned it…….Floor Jansen is married to the drummer (Hannes Van Dahl) for the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. If you aren’t familiar with Sabaton, all of their music is based on real events in history; for example….The Christmas Truce (WWI 1914 western front). And the huge Longhorn in flames is the symbol of the Wacken festival as it’s held in cow country (in Germany). About 80,000-82,000 in that crowd. And she had only been with them for less than a year. Not to mention that this song was #13 of 15 on the set list. Imagine the stamina it must take to be able to sing like that after 1.5-2hours! All members of Nightwish are incredible in their own right but the true genius behind the band is the keyboard player Tuomas. He composes at least 95% of their music. The Poet and the Pendulum is also absolutely incredible!
This whole concert is great. Song of Myself is my favorite Nightwish song (this concert version specifically). Storytime, Romanticide, and Ever Dream are also must-watch videos as well in my opinion. If you're into a longer song (from a different concert) look up Greatest Show on Earth (Tampere 2015 live). Honestly, there is just so much great music from this band out there.
Great reaction! It's their 30th anniversary next year so we are hoping for a tour (as they haven't toured their new album). Floor Jansen is my favourite singer and she's up there with the likes of Ronnie James Dio and Freddie Mercury as one of the best ever rock singers(personally, I think she is the best!). Most of the material to react to is live - I'm sure Gabriel has sent you a link to 'The List'. Although not currently touring, they have several videos out for 4 tracks from their latest Album (which dropped last year) and they are also excellent. Ghost Love Score is an older song that originally came out over 20 years ago. It was written for Tarja's voice but Floor absolutely owns it - it was one of her favourite NW songs before she joined in 2012. Floor has been performing in metal bands since she was 16 and her previous band, After Forever, has plenty of material on TH-cam. Also, when After Forever disbanded, she started another band, ReVamp, and, again, there's quite a bit of material on TH-cam.
Floor Jansen undisputed Queen of Metal. Master of all music genres. And on top of all that she is a real humble sweetheart. When not performing, she leads a quiet life with her husband (drummer of Sabaton) and two Daughters. Although Nightwish isn't touring this year, Floor will be touring her solo career. 😄🤘

Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora. Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy. Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉. Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg, where she graduated in 2003. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. Hello again. I remember telling you about Nightwish and I suppose others have done so too (since you chose to react to 'Phantom' first). Keep exploring their repertoire and you'll find many more masterpieces. Greetings from the Netherlands.
I see you were impressed with Empuu's tone. It's a monster isn't it! He uses an ESP EV1,2, or 3 depending on the song, (his signature model), a Kemper and a Boss FC-50. I believe he still uses a combination of Laney and Mesa Dual Rectifier profiles based on his modded ones. To get the audio "feels" on stage, the signal is also routed to a 1960A Marshall cab (you can see it on stage facing across it) so that he gets the old school "air movement" which doesn't happen with a DI into the desk and in-ears. He plays for the song every time. He's tragically overlooked as a player in my humble opinion. None of their songs are easy to get to grips with as a player and he just plays it all pretty much perfectly (I've only ever heard him hit one bum note live). He isn't flashy, doesn't use crazy techniques, he just executes everything beautifully, precisely and with great feel. As everyone else has said... You're going to be amazed by their diversity as you go through the catalogue.
The burning bull skull is the logo of the German Wacken Open Air. It is one of the largest and oldest metal festivals in the world. It takes place on a (former) cattle pasture, hence the skull. Longhorns are untypical for Germany and have never been there. It is visited by 85,000 visitors every year and another 15,000 visit the village of Wacken. Nightwish was the headliner that day. The organ pipes are fake. The Dutch Floor Jansen has been touring here with the band for 10 months and is officially only a session singer. It had already been agreed within the band that she would be the third singer and was announced later in October. She is now the current and longest-serving singer. In 2012, in the middle of the US tour, there was a heated argument between the second singer Anette Olzon and the band. They split up spontaneously and two days before the next concert the band no longer had a singer. Floor was already a well-known metal singer/songwriter back then and had 48 hours to travel and had to learn a 1.5 hour set list by heart. She says of her first concert that her voice was only half there and that she sometimes had to sing behind the front row because she didn't know the lyrics. Mastermind Tuomas says she was perfect. She saved the band from falling apart. Floor's stage presence was noticeable from her very first stage appearance as an amateur. She lives from the energy of the audience and the more spectators there are, the better she gets. Guitarist Emppu Vuorinen is today the last of the original Nightwish line-up with Tuomas. The fact that he walks around on stage and touches everyone is also typical of him. Before Nightwish, he and Tuomas were also session players with the black metal band Darkwoods My Betrothed. Drummer Jukka Nevalainen is playing one of his last concerts here. In 2015 the band wants to record a new album and Jukka has to stop because of chronic insomnia. He asks his friend Kai Hahto to step in temporarily. The temporary stay lasts 4 years, then Kai officially becomes his successor. Jukka now works in the band's management. The video is part of the DVD Showtime, Storytime, with the complete concert and a documentary. The song was written in 2003, when the first part of Pirates of the Caribbean was in the cinemas. So they are not warriors, but pirates. It was written after Tarja had almost left the band. Tuomas probably ends the friendship here and the two only have a business relationship after that. Like most of the songs, it was composed and written by keyboardist Tuomas. The band and orchestrator are there to remind him that singers have to breathe, not every player has ten fingers at their disposal and that things work better in other ways. You just heard Floor Jansen (pronounce Yahn-Sen). Although the band is Finnish, their 3rd singer is not, she is Dutch, lives with her husband Hannes van Dahl, the drummer of the band Sabaton and their two daughters in Sweden. Floor was born on Februari 21st, 1981 in Goirle the Netherlands. At the age of 16 she started her career (initially) just as the background singer from the Dutch metal band ‘After Forever’ in 1997, but real soon she took over the lead until early 2009 and the band fell apart. Parallel she studied at the Dutch Rock Academy in Tilburg starting in 1999 where she graduated in 2003 and spent two years on classical training with the National Conservatory. She studied Musical Theatre and one year Opera. She plays guitar, piano and flute and has completed 12 years of music studies. She’s a Light Lyric Soprano and her vocalrange runs from E3 to D6. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ‘ReVamp’, which was disbanded in September 2016. In August 2010 Jansen was a guest in the TV program De tiende van Tijl. In that program she sang an aria by Puccini. Yes Floor Jansen looks like a warrior princess and she is a bit over 6 feet tall so fits the part perfectly. She is the 3rd singer and is Dutch .The drummer who was left off a previous list is Kai Hahto. The crowd was 82,000.
Kai is the present drummer. This was Jukka Nevalainen, who retired from performing with Nightwish shortly after this tour due to illness. He still works in the back office with Nightwish, but not as a performing member.

Floor is an incredible voice in music. I'm a 70 year prog fan and love great singers like Floor like Jon Anderson, Peter Gabriel, Annie Haslam of Renaissance.Anne Wilson of Heart. I've seen the greatest bands in music in Glasgow. I'd love to see Nightwish and The Warning.

Enjoyed your reaction! This performance is from the Wacken (Vaken) Open Air Festival in Germany in front of 82,000 people. Wacken is a small cattle ranching village of about 2500 people that transforms into the biggest metal festival in the world, thus the flaming bull head is the symbol of the festival. Lead singer is Floor Jansen and she had only been with the band about 10 months here. She has been singing in metal bands since she was 16, is a huge vocal nerd, and was part of teh first Dutch Rock Academy class as well as hving sudied 1 year of opera and 2 years of musical theater with a teacher from the Dutch Conservatory. She is one of the most talented and versatile singes you will ever hear. She can sing everything from opera to death metal growls.

82,000 people. That was the crowd size on the day. For scale, the Queen Live aid performance was in front of 72,000. The amazing thing is that the lead (Floor Jansen), had only joined the band as an emergency fill in something like 9 months prior. Then gave this performance as if she wrote the stuff. It's an incredible show that gets more incredible the more you know about it. I found them as you did - Phantom of the Opera with Tarja singing lead. Greatest version of the Phantom ever recorded. I had never heard of them till I started listening to Liliac reactions and I had been new to them as well. But I kept seeing people reacting to these guys too. When I saw phantom pop up in one of the reaction lists, I pounced. After Ghost Love score, I bought the Wacken live blueray set, the End of an era vinyl, dvd, etc.. piled up the albums. Liliac I wound up buying their entire discography. I have some catchup work to do with these guys yet. Tuomas is an incredible composer and It feels like a privilege to get to hear a Modern Mozart work. Mindblowing and breathtaking. Floor is a gem. I could pour accolades on the rest of the band as well.. they earn it. Great reaction!
Since you started with the Phantom of the Opera, you might want to listen to the version with Nightwish and Floor Jansen in Amsterdam at the Ziggodome for two consecutive shows in front of 17,000 per show. The role of Eric was sung by Henk Poort, the original Dutch Phantom who performed the role some 600 times on the Dutch stage. What's amazing about this performance is that it was four weeks after breast cancer surgery and she still wasn't 100%.
Some other songs: "Romanticide" at Wacken, "Yours is an Empty Hope" at Wembley, "Tribal" live performance compilation, and many many more.
The band is Finnish, but Floor Jansen is Dutch. You have yet to see their multi-instrumentalist from England, Troy Donockley. The joke about Troy is that it is easier to list the instruments he doesn't play.
Floor speaks four languages and a smattering of a fifth. She has sung songs in eight languages ranging from German hip-hop to "O Holy Night" in Finnish. She has been singing in metal bands since 1997. Her vocal styles range from operatic to death metal and anything in between. Her TH-cam channel has an extensive list of covers and solo material, covering a swath of genres, styles and languages.

The whole concert was professionally recorded by the band. This song was #13 of the 15 song headline concert set. All these songs were written for the prior singers. This song was originally performed by Tarja. Anette coukd not sing it, but Floor brought it back on the tour, and added her own ending, which made it her own and a staple of the band, loved by fans. Saw Floor sing it in Montreal in May 2022.

Welcome to the world of Nightwish. Almosty every song is composed by keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, the Metal Mozart, and you'll rarely face songs as multi-layered and meaningful as these. Every song is essentially a story, a journey, heading deep into secrets of existence. Yes, they have mase few covers and those are incredible as well. Tuomas has other work outside Nightwish as well, his dream project was 'The Life and Times of Scrooge' with Don Rosa, illustrator for Disney who made some of the most well-known Scrooge McDuck illustrations.
Aside his compositions, Tuomas also has a gift of bringing everything out from his bandmates, as shown by Floor, Marco, Emppu and Jukka here. Their performance is incredible throughout the whole festival.

This is the third and most versatile singer for Nightwish, Dutchwoman Floor Jansen. With the band only ten months at this concert and every song is excellent. They were all written for one of the previous singers, Tarja Turunen operatic and then Anette Olzon pop but Floor was exceptional and has introduced so many new fans to Nightwish.

@TheLionsReaction If you do, make sure that it's a studio recording, possibly Bye Bye Beautiful as she is very poor live. Although Anette originallty recorded it on an album, there is only one definitive version of The Poet and the Pendulum and that is by Floor at Wembley 2015. Tuomas the keyboardist and composer has said that no-one else should perform it after Floor.

And Floor herself... unquestionably in my mind the greatest rock singer of all time, and by a large margin. I'm afraid I also have a correction for you as well, as this was Floor's ninth festival performance with Nightwish. Her first was Sauna Open Air at Tampere in Finland, followed by Greenland Festival, Interlaken, Switzerland, Tuska Open Air (back in Finland), Byblos in Lebanon, Lakselv in Norway, Ilosaarirock and Sotkamon Syke (both in Finland again), Benatska Noc Fest in Czechia, and on to this epic Wacken performance. Two more festivals at the Alcatraz in Belgium and M'era Luna back here in Germany closed out the epic world tour.

In case you don’t know or no one mentioned it…….Floor Jansen is married to the drummer (Hannes Van Dahl) for the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. If you aren’t familiar with Sabaton, all of their music is based on real events in history; for example….The Christmas Truce (WWI 1914 western front).
And the huge Longhorn in flames is the symbol of the Wacken festival as it’s held in cow country (in Germany). About 80,000-82,000 in that crowd. And she had only been with them for less than a year. Not to mention that this song was #13 of 15 on the set list. Imagine the stamina it must take to be able to sing like that after 1.5-2hours!
All members of Nightwish are incredible in their own right but the true genius behind the band is the keyboard player Tuomas. He composes at least 95% of their music. The Poet and the Pendulum is also absolutely incredible!

This whole concert is great. Song of Myself is my favorite Nightwish song (this concert version specifically). Storytime, Romanticide, and Ever Dream are also must-watch videos as well in my opinion. If you're into a longer song (from a different concert) look up Greatest Show on Earth (Tampere 2015 live). Honestly, there is just so much great music from this band out there.
Great reaction! It's their 30th anniversary next year so we are hoping for a tour (as they haven't toured their new album). Floor Jansen is my favourite singer and she's up there with the likes of Ronnie James Dio and Freddie Mercury as one of the best ever rock singers(personally, I think she is the best!).
Most of the material to react to is live - I'm sure Gabriel has sent you a link to 'The List'. Although not currently touring, they have several videos out for 4 tracks from their latest Album (which dropped last year) and they are also excellent. Ghost Love Score is an older song that originally came out over 20 years ago. It was written for Tarja's voice but Floor absolutely owns it - it was one of her favourite NW songs before she joined in 2012.
Floor has been performing in metal bands since she was 16 and her previous band, After Forever, has plenty of material on TH-cam. Also, when After Forever disbanded, she started another band, ReVamp, and, again, there's quite a bit of material on TH-cam.
Floor Jansen undisputed Queen of Metal. Master of all music genres. And on top of all that she is a real humble sweetheart. When not performing, she leads a quiet life with her husband (drummer of Sabaton) and two Daughters. Although Nightwish isn't touring this year, Floor will be touring her solo career. 😄🤘

Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy.
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6).
She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉.
Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg, where she graduated in 2003. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016.
From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon (Second singer of Nightwish after Tarja) as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour (And she had to learn the setlist in 48h). On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer.

Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics. He also composes the music for the backing track they use. It is recorded in London with musicians from The London Philharmonics. Pip Williams helps with the orchestration. There are two London based choirs too on the backing track, the other one is a children's choir. And of course with a synth you can do a lot.
On drums : Jukka "The Pirate" Nevalainen is the former drummer in the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish (left for health reasons, but is still a member behinde the scenes).
He Is famous among Nightwish fans for wearing a bandana on his head, even during shows, his energetic drumming style, and for his spinning of his drumsticks. Joined Nightwish at the age of 17.
On Bass: Marko Hietala "The Viking" is a Finnish heavy metal vocalist, bassist and songwriter.
Internationally, best known as the former bassist, male vocalist and secondary composer to Tuomas Holopainen, of the symphonic metal band Nightwish. He was also the vocalist and bassist as well as composer and lyricist for the heavy metal band Tarot. He was also a member of the supergroup Northern Kings, and portrayed one of the main characters in Ayreon's 2013 album The Theory of Everything.
On Guitar: Emppu Vuorinen the Electric Hobbit and trickster (Finnish guitarist, most famous for being a founding member of Nightwish and occasional songwriter).
Vuorinen is primarily a rhythm player, often supporting the keyboard or orchestral parts of Nightwish songs. However, he plays lead melodies and solos as well. Vuorinen's solo techniques usually include alternate picking, tapping, sliding, legato, and minor to extreme whammy bar use; he also employs sweep picking, although very rarely. His solos are more melodic than those of most metal bands, but he sometimes shreds (notably in "Nightquest," "The Pharaoh Sails to Orion," "Romanticide," and "Gethsemane" by Nightwish, and also in "Traitor" by Tarot, for which he provided a solo).
This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken (pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people (one of the largest heavy metal festivals in the world and one of the largest open-air festivals in Germany). The fiery bull head is the symbol of the festival.

He uses an ESP EV1,2, or 3 depending on the song, (his signature model), a Kemper and a Boss FC-50. I believe he still uses a combination of Laney and Mesa Dual Rectifier profiles based on his modded ones.
To get the audio "feels" on stage, the signal is also routed to a 1960A Marshall cab (you can see it on stage facing across it) so that he gets the old school "air movement" which doesn't happen with a DI into the desk and in-ears.
He plays for the song every time. He's tragically overlooked as a player in my humble opinion. None of their songs are easy to get to grips with as a player and he just plays it all pretty much perfectly (I've only ever heard him hit one bum note live).
He isn't flashy, doesn't use crazy techniques, he just executes everything beautifully, precisely and with great feel.
As everyone else has said... You're going to be amazed by their diversity as you go through the catalogue.
Now you really need to do NWs version of Phantom of the Opera with Floor ft Henk Poort.

The burning bull skull is the logo of the German Wacken Open Air. It is one of the largest and oldest metal festivals in the world. It takes place on a (former) cattle pasture, hence the skull. Longhorns are untypical for Germany and have never been there. It is visited by 85,000 visitors every year and another 15,000 visit the village of Wacken. Nightwish was the headliner that day. The organ pipes are fake.
The Dutch Floor Jansen has been touring here with the band for 10 months and is officially only a session singer. It had already been agreed within the band that she would be the third singer and was announced later in October. She is now the current and longest-serving singer. In 2012, in the middle of the US tour, there was a heated argument between the second singer Anette Olzon and the band. They split up spontaneously and two days before the next concert the band no longer had a singer. Floor was already a well-known metal singer/songwriter back then and had 48 hours to travel and had to learn a 1.5 hour set list by heart. She says of her first concert that her voice was only half there and that she sometimes had to sing behind the front row because she didn't know the lyrics. Mastermind Tuomas says she was perfect. She saved the band from falling apart. Floor's stage presence was noticeable from her very first stage appearance as an amateur. She lives from the energy of the audience and the more spectators there are, the better she gets.
Guitarist Emppu Vuorinen is today the last of the original Nightwish line-up with Tuomas. The fact that he walks around on stage and touches everyone is also typical of him. Before Nightwish, he and Tuomas were also session players with the black metal band Darkwoods My Betrothed.
Drummer Jukka Nevalainen is playing one of his last concerts here. In 2015 the band wants to record a new album and Jukka has to stop because of chronic insomnia. He asks his friend Kai Hahto to step in temporarily. The temporary stay lasts 4 years, then Kai officially becomes his successor. Jukka now works in the band's management.

The song was written in 2003, when the first part of Pirates of the Caribbean was in the cinemas. So they are not warriors, but pirates. It was written after Tarja had almost left the band. Tuomas probably ends the friendship here and the two only have a business relationship after that. Like most of the songs, it was composed and written by keyboardist Tuomas. The band and orchestrator are there to remind him that singers have to breathe, not every player has ten fingers at their disposal and that things work better in other ways.

Continuez sur le festival du Wacken Open Air 2013, vous êtes sur de ne pas vous tromper, les quinze chansons du set sont des classiques pour tous les fans du groupe et sont à écouter absolument. Although the band is Finnish, their 3rd singer is not, she is Dutch, lives with her husband Hannes van Dahl, the drummer of the band Sabaton and their two daughters in Sweden. Floor was born on Februari 21st, 1981 in Goirle the Netherlands. At the age of 16 she started her career (initially) just as the background singer from the Dutch metal band ‘After Forever’ in 1997, but real soon she took over the lead until early 2009 and the band fell apart. Parallel she studied at the Dutch Rock Academy in Tilburg starting in 1999 where she graduated in 2003 and spent two years on classical training with the National Conservatory. She studied Musical Theatre and one year Opera. She plays guitar, piano and flute and has completed 12 years of music studies. She’s a Light Lyric Soprano and her vocalrange runs from E3 to D6. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons.
On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ‘ReVamp’, which was disbanded in September 2016. In August 2010 Jansen was a guest in the TV program De tiende van Tijl. In that program she sang an aria by Puccini. From October 1, 2012 (while she was within ReVamp, but recovering from a burnout) Floor replaced Anette Olzon as the singer of Nightwish halfway their Imaginaerum World Tour. After one year (shortly after the Wacken Open Air festival concert 2013) on October 9th 2013, it was announced that she was to become the group's regular new front singer.

Yes Floor Jansen looks like a warrior princess and she is a bit over 6 feet tall so fits the part perfectly. She is the 3rd singer and is Dutch .The drummer who was left off a previous list is Kai Hahto. The crowd was 82,000.
Kai is the present drummer. This was Jukka Nevalainen, who retired from performing with Nightwish shortly after this tour due to illness. He still works in the back office with Nightwish, but not as a performing member.

Floor is an incredible voice in music. I'm a 70 year prog fan and love great singers like Floor like Jon Anderson, Peter Gabriel, Annie Haslam of Renaissance.Anne Wilson of Heart. I've seen the greatest bands in music in Glasgow. I'd love to see Nightwish and The Warning.
