    This is one best way to get the actual size of the particle.
    I have tried automated method (analyse particle) but that gave weird results especially if your image is underexposed/differently exposed in some area and it also not recognize all the particles in the image. Despite you give cutoff value, the automated method sometimes reconsiders dart/artefacts that give false-positive results.

    Absolutely great tutorial. It covers almost everything in as simple language as it is possible. This is going to go in my favorites.

    Thank you for sharing :) Can I know the principal (sphere fitting ......or else ) that the software uses to calculate diameters especially if particles have an irregular shape note really spherical.

    You can automate getting the largest and smallest diameter by thresholding the image and using the Feret's Diameter measurement in Analyze function. I use it for measuring pore spaces.

    Its too random. What is the area and length of that particular grain? You have done the area and length separately. So in the origin table one row doesnt contain size of a single particle.

    Is there any possibility of getting X coordinates for all the bars in a histogram plot that's in image format (JPEG).

  • @sayedurrahman1206
    @sayedurrahman1206 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    H,
    I think you are measuring both the length and width of grain at the same time. In the results, you are showing both as to length. This is not correct. This should be shown as both the length and width separately. You should separate data and calculate the values separately. You might be right that's how they measure length for grain analysis. Area measurement is fine. In the end, I have to say good effort. Is it possible to automate the measurement? If someone has lots of images to analyse how are they going to do it manually. How do you set the thresh hold? Thanks

    • @InSciLab
      @InSciLab  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it is counting the pixels not the exact point-to-point distance. In that case it won't be wrong. Otherwise I am wrong. However, in both the cases, I am fortunate that you have observed and notified. Thank you very much. Sorry for very late reply.

    Sir, I have a question. What magnification is needed for finding grain size? Is 5000x enough?

    • @KenesuEXE
      @KenesuEXE 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on the material really. Any magnification is good as long as its big enough that you can measure it accurately. Just dont forget to use the scale.

  • @astaninski_fox6305

    you can not compare length and area. it is not correct! you have to find diameter from area and then use.
