    Thank you so much. I went to fix this on my own because I have taken the door panel off many times for stereo work-- however, I could not figure out how to remove the lock and handle to see the issue. Your video helped me identify the T30 fastener on the rim of the door and also how to remove the yellow clasp that holds the locking lever in place. Life saver. I agree, putting the glass window rails back onto the inner panel is a pain. I found suction cup handles from harbor freight made it so much easier. I was able to adjust the glass to the right position and line up the rakes with the panel. I used a piece of string at first to pull the rails flush with the panel because I was having a hard time getting the screws to "catch" the threading on the rails. Once the rails were pulled against the panel I fasted them and it was smooth soaking from there thank you again!

    Thanks, that was exactly my problem on our 2013 Rogue. One tip to get access to the inside handle, roll the window down half way, remove covers to expose big holes so you can detach the glass and lift out. Then only remove the black 10mm bolts to remove the entire power window assembly. Piece of cake! Do NOT loosen the silver 10mm bolts!

    This video is super helpful thank you for making it. I think you're having the same problem i am. The cable is a metal stranded cable so it's wound. I'm pretty sure my cable has stretched itself overtime. So i had to replace the entire cable to the Lock actuator and it seemed to fix it. I think they used cheap wound cables that stretch over time.

    Thanks for the video! You really helped me out of a bind. Customer needed their car back to soon as possible. Couple things I did different that might help others.First thing I did was tape the window up so it doesn’t come down when you pull the regulator panel away from the door. Second thing I did was instead of using a screw to make up for the gap I used just enough clear silicone to fill in the gap to stop the ball end of the cable from popping out. Making sure the silicone doesn’t interfere with the ball end of the cable. I just subscribed to your channel. Thanks again!

    • @onesamaritan

      how did you keep the silicone from interfering...just filling near it and letting dry first? Such a poor latch design.

    Thanks for the guide helped me out a ton, the way i combated the ball falling out was to pinch the circle that it sits inside, the cable can’t slip out and the mechanism works flawlessly

  • @jcom5624

    Thanks for this, looked for other instructions but could find none. One thing I wish you would have shown was how to get the damn thing apart to get to the cable. Getting that lock out drove me mad until I saw where I could snap that yellow clip off the rod down below, allowing the lock to rotate out. I took some pics of how I fixed it. I actually made a little "shield" to hold it in. Need to file a patent now and get paid for my marathon fix on the wifes ride. Cheers.

    I just did this repair (new drivers door) handle on 2011 Rogue with keyless entry yesterday. Without viewing videos like this one, the job would have been much more difficult. Hint, tape the windows in the full up position before you remove regulator panel. The holes lined up and I drew it together with longer 8mm bolts (not supplied) and one by one replaced with factory 8mm bolts. The whole job, about 1.5 hours of twisting and swearing!

    Worked on my brother-in-laws 2011 Rouge and found that removing the window glass allows you to remove the black panel AND the window rails as a single unit. This is much easier than trying to re-align the rails to put those silver bolts back in. There are only 2 bolts holding window in, and it's an easy remove and return.

    I did this before in 2019. Lasted almost 2 yrs. It hapened again few months ago during freezing weather. I dont recall totally taking the lock out, but had it disconnected in there (from the rod)...I had a heck of time with the window regulator attachments/plastic and it looked bent from factory...(i actually had it all out of the door for some reason) It seems like this is a problem with 'many' Nissans (incl Sentra/Altima). I found a listing for a recall circa 2010 for the Rogues regarding the latch popping out, but i have been to dealers a handful of times during ownership and asked on recalls and nothing was ever mentioned about the latch, smh. The screw was a great idea! I am finding it hard to bring myself back to go thru this again. Plus my tools are across the country. Anyone in TX that I can pay $60 to do this for me?? LOL. Due to this kind of fun as well as the CVT, the only Nissan i would buy again would be older Xterra.

    u can go thru what this clip is showing - I would try a fix it by trying hot gluing myself - the plastic that is for the cable and ball is worn is the true issue - this is why the ball is coming out - this needs to be a recall - this is a problem with the roque - more and more owners are running into this issue-- another issue Nissan has with the Roque handles that crack - there is a flaw in the manufacturing design of the handles -

    • @cruizinmax4017
      @cruizinmax4017  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      this used to be a recall but it ended years ago. Not sure if hot glue would work in this case since this part moves.

      I havent had that issue, the door would still open for me but I think your best bet is to get yourself a lockout kit or another name for it is a slim jim for car door. In my video you can see where that lock unlock rod is so you should be able to rich it with your window open with that tool to get your door open, you can get that tool online or your local automotive store.
