Thank you so much. I’m a woman and my dad has taught me how to bream fish, but not much crappie fishing. I don’t have a depth finder, but I’m going to try your way and pray that I be successful. You are very detailed with your instructions.
Humm, all I want to know is that we have a stocked large pond , and there are plenty of fish, including some Sacalie …. I used to catch plenty of them, and we live in South LA. But because of the drought, we finally began to have rain to help us out slowly…. So, is there anything that you can do to help us…?anything to help us, and especially for me to catch Sacalie
This here is one of my favorite videos because you took the time to show your slip cork setup step by step im new to crappie fishing but I currently have my poles rigged up with this setup I plan on bringing slabs In on the boat real soon
I like to use this setup often what I like most about is that you can also use a jig with it too thank you for taking time to go through the process... I love your videos!
My favorite video. I have slip corked a lot over the years but never thought about doing it in deep water. Makes you feel like a kid again watching the bobber go under
For the 75K contest. This is my favorite video because I didn’t have any success with crappie fishing here in Michigan until I watched this tutorial and learned the proper slip cork technique. Because of this, I am now enjoying crappie this Winter during my downtime 🙂.
Hard to choose one. But this is my favorite 903 video. This setup has put more fish in the boat for me than anything else. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Soooo thank you soooo much for this video. Im a beginner with very bad eyesight so I decided to use high vis braid line with a mono leader but I love the the idea of the slip bobber. I've been searching TH-cam for "how to use a slip bobber with a leader" lol. I stumbled across your video to see how you rig your slip bobber. And wahhh laaaaaaaaa you're using a leader line tooooooooo ...This just made my night.... You should maybe put somewhere in the description that you're using a slip bobber on a braided line with a mono leader so the video can pop up for anyone who's searching. Most videos on slip bobbers being installed don't use leaders like you're doing..... Thank You Again !!!!!
Great video. Very informative. One question though. I’m handicapped in that I have no feeling in my hands, so I’m looking for ways to compensate. What would be the downside to attaching a swivel-snap to one end of the leader and attach it to the barrel swivel on the end of your braided line?
Lol did you not hear me in the video. I specifically said I’m not hear to tie knots. Tie the knot you prefer. I just wanted to show the set up itself. It works for me. Thanks for watching! God bless
This is probably my favorite video because it got me started with the slipcork setup 2 years ago, which has helped my crappie game tremendously. #50k #roadto75k
I specifically said this is not how I tie my knots. But this video is for showing you how to rig the actual slip cork rig itself. People prefer different knots, so I didn’t want to spend too much time tying knots! Thanks for watching! God bless
Hey brother great video, I was struggling trying to set up a good rig as a beginner but this one helped me step by step. Question, when you mentioned adjusting the stopper distance for the depth you wanna fish at, is the the distance from the swivel to the stopper? Or the hook to the stopper?
The distance from the hook to the bobber stop is how deep you would be fishing. That’s where your bait is, minnow/jig. I appreciate you for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching! God bless
For me I just keep it simple . A hook in the line . Worm as bait .little weight if need it ..cast it offf..and enjoy my time fishing ..most of the time got nothing but the whole point is have good time outside
Can you show a rigging for bank fishing how to catch crappie because you couldn't set it that way if your bank fishing because the water is not that deep
Question when fishing in 20' of water, does the bopper stopper slid through the rod eyes while reeling in the fish are do you have to reset it every cast.
The bobber stop, If put on correctly and trimmed, it will slid through the eyes no problem. Thanks for watching and the support! Any more questions feel free to ask! God bless
This is exactly what I was looking for. I've never set up a slip bobber before. Isn't it a right-handed world?!!! My mother, grandfather and I are all 3 lefties. I learned it from mom teaching me to write before going to school. ✍️ 😅
Use this in these northern clear lakes always, with a jig or hook and minnows. The water is always so clear if you get within ten or fifteen feet you’ll spook em
Dustin from Sam Rayburn coming at you again if you’ll pull them green prices out of end of bobber an make sure your bead want slide through the hollow black stem your string will feed through the cork faster an easier
It has worked for me so far brother. But I will agree a polimar knot may be stronger. Do whatever suites you. This video is too show you how I rig my slip cork set up. The actual set up itself.
This is my favorite video. Very simple and effective way to catch fish. Had never seen this technique before I found your channel. I always have at least 2 poles rigged up like this when I’m on the water. Congrats on the 75k subscribers and keep up the good work.
Man, you make it so simple. It's not all about showing us. How many fish you can catch or how fast you can catch us. But what do you using where are you fishing how you located with your electronics You are doing a good job and you are making a difference. Been fishing all of my life 55 years. But i'm learning by watching you

Just wanted to ask do you always use 10 pound braided line when having an 8 pound leader? Of course when you’re fishing for crappie? And what other kind of set up do you use for bass fishing?
Yes I typically use 10# braid. And a 10-12 mono leader when slip corking. If I am vertical jigging I am using straight 10# braid. I don’t usually large mouth bass fish. But I do white bass fishing. And I use 6-8 pound mono for white bass. Thanks for watching! God bless
If you get hung up and break off, you will have to re tie your whole set up. Versus if you break off at barrel swivel and hook. You only have to re tie leader and hook and or just the hook. I appreciate you for watching! God bless
Thank You 903 I do catch fish with different cork se-tups but I think I like your method better because I normally put the weights just above the hooks and I can see how it limits the movement of minnows and perhaps live worms. I will definitely use this system. Thanks and will subscribe as well.
No sir. Maybe 1 out of 100. I have had people come to me with this concern before. If the bobber stop is trimmed correctly, there shouldn’t be any issues. Thanks for watching! God bless

Just curious, why not use a smelled hook instead of making your own leader?
