i've played this game myself, i think the last time maybe 2 yearish ago....
while i know most of these things already, i want to say, that you did an outstanding job, explaining basically EVRYTHING in detail step by step. (in context of what the topic of the video is)
there were/are good tutorials on many different things, like sailing, boarding, tactics, etc. on youtube, BUT
your video here contains evrything a new player might need to know, to make more money.

I really enjoyed doing this video , no idea how this video was going to look while doing it but when I finished it I was propperly over the moon with the way it came out.
By far the best one iv done I recken.
I don't do voice over , this was litrally pause and play while recording as I don't have any paid software so proof to myself it can be done.
PvE is a great way to train in boarding actions, also go for chainshot to train in demasting and grapeshot for crew elimination.

i think i'll maybe reinstall and take a good look at it again...
i remember having like 5 Indias for trading, sailing with 3, 2 of them severely undercrewd....
don't remember all the details like wood type, but my main one, was some thicc wood able to take a punch, drilled it on speed and boarding power... marines are a game changer for example!
the rest just fur and purely speed drilled....
with the right trade route you can make millions in one run oO the island in the east... don't remember the name
played US for two reasons...
start zone rather "safe", since down south basically evryone surrounds each other, wich makes it more dangerous in my opinion....
and because of the trade route and the short distance...
I didn't do much trading as I got bored very quickly however every now and again I had to move things around so I did it in force
The fleet consisted of a redout/implacable as main , vic in fleet and 2 indianmen. Honestly this fleet makup did some serious damage to the hubters which wanted a nibble.
Best example was when a redoubtable, a Inger and wasa players decided to hit me .... I boarded the redout straightway, got them off guard so smashed them in seconds, wasa thought it could out manoeuvre 2 ships which proved to be its downfall and the inger got caught between my implacable and vic .... soon got wrecked.
Good Times, I have some very fond memories of playing this game

My favourite ship ( prized possession) was a renomee which I built , came out purple so however 5 upgrade slots with a random build thing.
It was rare wood Madagascar teak or something , turned out to have 127 thickness , with a already curved Hull and fast as anything
The 32 pd carroes bounced off of it like a bouncy ball. Only time they penned was if I was broadside to broadside at around 100 meters ... she was gorgeous , it coust around 50 million reals in upgrades and materials 😆 for a 5th rate shallow water.
pandora has 210 crew, and the ship he hunt is Le Gros Ventre Refit, has 315 crew
sounds about right, had to get the crew down some first
i just took a look back in the game... money wasn't an issue :D
even got a nice Victory....
but only 500 crew -.-' sucks :(
gotta grind xp somehow if i were to rly get back into the game....
With the way gunnery works now , you should take a look at a video I did with the thumbnail of 400 crew ? And the vic .... you can be effective while sailing it still but with the smallest cannons ..... just don't get boarded.
Also that video was before this one so you can see the transformation over the last few videos in my recording skills 😆

yes i used that ship as iv always liked it and I didn't have another ship over in that port at the time so jus popped one of them out :)
i lost a ship to a LGV who boarded me after i got too close while trying to grape the crew.

Gutted , yea if you keep your speed over 3.5 knots they cant board you , aim for 4 knots so you have a buffer , make sure your on the right side of the wind and you wont get slown down from wind shadow
why can’t I use bracket keys when boarding

nah man charge shot goes stright through masts chains wrapup in sails
Iv forgotten what iv said in this video but yes charge is great for masts , chain does the sails but it's changed a fair bit since I did these videos ,
From the patch notes I recken mast sniping is going to be back in fashion

Ok just did a ovo against smaller ship it was dead in the battle he hit my rudder not fun at all, the grind is heavy beautiful game but a dead stick PvP
you can fix your rudder :) the grind can be painful , we will have to see what the next update brings soon
You can make all the money you want. But it your ships and your Rank will be gone in 90 days. Sad thing is it's a good game. The developer's are clearly wanting to kill the game.
the game has certainly changed direction since the F2P however you do still need money to get things done in this game. Navy Service Medals are the things you want in the long term as they transfer over and make things better for you in the next season.
Does it still do that on pve server? I’m new to the game and can’t really go toe to toe with other players yet jw
